Out with GeoHubby (Slotheryn) doing some caching in Rangiora. We stopped for our mandatory coffee at McDonalds (but due to the heat ended up with choccy milkshakes instead) and found a handful of caches around the area. Not many places to search for this cache. A quick park 'n grab and we were off again. Thanks for another smiley.
DNF. Heaps of flowers and growth. E eryone has said it was easy so maybe it's not there?..
Back from Kaikoura, I swung by this to get a trad for todays trad dot day. All fine onsite, thanks for the placement.TFTC swtgeo, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #4714
We were staying with family not too far from here and decided to clear out a few of the nearby caches. This one was on our list for today. Cheers and TFTC.Gday there swtgeo, we were in this area today and found your cache Christmas Kowhai on Acacia (Canterbury) GCA2RB8. Our name was added to the log book at 9:28am on 4 January 2024. Found with ivss_xx. Nosed around for a minute before I realized the cache was on top of my head the whole time.
16:13 FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCatThat's not a Kowhai! Right? It's not, is it!? Noooo, can't be.No idea what it is though.A feative cache for the festive season!I always enjoyed decorating the tree when it was brought in the house. That was my Job. And I was proud to do it, usually with the help of my big sister.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, swtgeo!#10047
Thanks for hiding this cache swtgeo I appreciate it. I took my new ev for the longest spin that it has been for since I have driven it. This one has a bigger battery than the last one. The old one used to use 60% of it's battery driving to Rangiora, this one only used 20%.. The old car would is still fine for around town and it will save someone a lot of money on petrol.
On a clean up of Rangiora caches this arvo. Had to wait until a parked muggle moved off then a quick grab , thanks
#22911. We headed out to Rangiora today, and thought it was about time we stopped to find this one. Quick find here. TFTC.
Stopped off to find a cache on Acacia Ave en route to visiting whanau in Rangiora. StreetWalkerNZ had the cache found before I had time to even look!
The kowhai tree has a few flowers on it already, it should be lovely by spring. TFTC.

Quick easy find on my way past to visit the inlaws. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
So pleased I took a little detour for this one. I'm aiming for 100 this is 12. I better get on... TFTC
Some times, just sometimes, we need a cache which is this easy to find!! Brought a smile to our dials!! Mind where you walk though, a pooch has left it's message within a few metres of GZ. Thank you.
A nice quick find. A fairly exposed GZ, but a quick find. Very little traffic today. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I went for a drive north of the Waimak today, a lovely day for it.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

After lunch nearby. I didn't realize that there are 8 different species or I would have looked more closely. There was a tree next door to us and I was quite disappointed when the neighbors took it out as they thought it too messy. Now we have seeds germinating all over our garden but no room for something that size. Thanks swtgeo
Out on a bike ride, cache hunting, done a 50km loop on a nice hot day. Thanks For the cache Bitsprayer.
Final day living in the waimakariri and found this one to complete a clean sweep of tradionals in Rangiora! Thanks for this cache!!
Forgot to bring my pen but an enjoyable find on a warm evening walk! And my first find in NZ! TFTC
Yay ... That's my target for the year. But what to do with the fee I've got leftover? Oh well, carry on I suppose. Cheers!
After spending most of my time out Oxford way it was a mad dash though Rangiora for the newer caches. Made a series of quick finds which was just a well because I only got home with 15 minutes to spare before I had to go to with the wife.
Can't believe I nearly missed the little blighter.

As I had missed my regular Monday morning cycling group ride I felt the need for a ride somewhere. I decided that an afternoon cyclocache ride to Rangiora would fit the bill. But it was only after I left home that I discovered that my Garmin gps was having a hissy fit and not listing any of the unfound geocaches that I loaded last week! I reasoned that it must have something to do with that new road map update that I loaded last night. Oh well, not to worry, I do have a backup plan in that I also load all unfounds into the gps as POIs (but with only the cache name, coords, type, size and hint details.) Using this backup plan I went first to find nige 1979's first cache in Dudley Park before navigating to this Christmas Kowhai. Nice, quick find. TFTC swtgeo.
An easy find on a sunny morning. Its been a while since we were this way. The area has grown a lot. TFTC
FTF! The phone put me in between two potential objects, but one of them was much more suitable, and there it was! (After a fair bit of staring...) TFTC!!
I figured it would be a close 50/50 whether i might get here first or not....but wow, what a lovely morning to be out and about. Could be a byzy gz, but nice and quiet for a quick find and sign. Thanks.
Out this way today but didn’t know about the Santa Parade until we arrived in the area. So got stuck in the traffic in town. No one at GZ thankfully so a quick find and sign. TFTH
