I am disabling this one until I get a chance to head out and replace it. I friend checked on it for me and has confirmed it is missing.
At the park today with family so thought we'd have to look to see if the cache was still where we found it and there was no sign of it so we scanned a few other spots and unfortunately there was definitely no sign of it else where either.
We came we saw we stood on vehicle roof racks with longest fishing rod we have. We failed
I like tree fishing caches, but more with any other traditional type you never know what you are into. That’s because tree fishing caches can be either :
1. A pain in the neck for the next 1h as one was staring up into the greenery for too long.
2. Pain in the neck + when giving up finding the cache on the floor.
3. Pain in the neck + finding it on the floor + wind that wiggles on the rod making it extra difficult
4. Pain in the neck + finding it on the floor + wind + mozzies taking the advantage that you can’t make fast movement.
5. You actually spot it in an instant, lower it down like a champ and put it back up in its nest on the first try.
I’m happy to report that it was number 5. for this one and it was great being able to use another TOOT today to get a cache.
It has been quite some time since I explored the general Burdekin region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much emilywanders that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

With the release of the latest labyrinth challenge, and a job happening just down the road, I found myself picking up a few of your caches around Ayr.
I did like the geometric design of the loop and placement in this park was ideal
Thanks emilywanders for the fun and challenge of locating this Traditional

Turns out the Kookaburras were indeed laughing at us under estimating how high up this cache was but once we realise that we just needed to wait till we had the chance to organise the right tool for the job and today was the day and the tool come with the added help of two muggles with experience using it. Getting the cache down was the easy part putting it back up proved a little bit more of a challenge but we got there. TFTC
I certainly looks like emilywanders has joined the high flyers with this one. It wasn’t in the clouds but it was high enough to keep both muggles and unprepared geocachers at bay. Hosan however didn’t suffer with that. Had the pole out waving it in the direction of the cache pretty quickly with no kookaburra in site. Reeled that little fish in and signed the log before setting it free to float on the breeze once more. Thanks for bringing tree fishing to Ayr to challenge the locals. Thank you Mrs wanders for the fun and games.
For various reasons this cache has so far eluded us. But we have enjoyed watching the bird life in the park especially the pair of kookaburras tending to their family in a nearby paperbark although we were also hoping that the cache was not up as high as their nest.
[FTF] We did it!!! After our first visit yesterday we came up a little short. . Subsequent visits later in the day and earlier this morning seemed to be a constant battle with muggles frequenting the popular location for play adventures and BBQ’s. After constantly surveying the area. We went and grabbed a delicious crumbed steak sandwich. After devouring our lunch elsewhere we again went back and only had to wait out one family playing on the swings. As soon as they left a quick set up was required and careful timing with passing traffic we retrieved the cache, signed the log and replaced this difficult to obtain cache. Finally we were able to sit down and enjoy this lovely place and delightful birds and then watched further families bringing their pint sized muggles for play dates. TFTC Emilywanders.
