This cache:Was not sure what to make of the hint initially but got there in the end, tftc!Today:I was on a mission today! Actually, I was supposed to be here yesterday but my flight got cancelled. And a Coldplay concert in Auckland meant there was no other option until 24h later. Anyway, I digress. Suffice to say I was very motivated to make this work My mission was to find and qualify for at least 6 challenge caches, in just a few hours of caching in the Shire! Why you ask? Because I need at least 10 challenge caches to qualify for a meta challenge cache in Nelson . I did not think I would be able to do so any time soon, cause I'm not great with challenge caches and there aren't many around in Nelson. Until I saw there is a whole challenge cache power trail in the area where I planned to go caching during my Sydney trip! How great is that?! So I did my homework and figured out which challenges I could qualify for in just a few hours of geocaching, plus find those challenge caches themselves of course. It was a bit of a puzzle with multiple train rides and a lot of running at tge end but I think I (just) succeeded! Still have to go through the checkers after writing these logs. I'm sure about 5 challenges and my manual counting ended up at 31 out of the required 30 different attributes for the 6th! Let's hope the checker agrees Big thanks to all COs for a pleasant Shire caching experience and a special thanks to wazza9 for the challenge power trail that got me inspired to go on a crazy hunt today!
Found on the floor?? Put it back where I think it shouldve been. Found with PolarOrangephant, TFTC
The spot was on the floor. So we put it back where we thought it should be. Found with Ashuri_D. Tftc
Found quite easily, until I turned around and found a second knot with an almost identical cache inside! Gorgeous day. Note to BYOP
First cache for today, returned during daylight hours to avenge a long-lasted DNF. Unfortunately, a sulphur-crested cockatoo has been completely mauled by a fox around the areas of GZ. Found the cache after searching in the wrong spot a few times. Definitely might knot be simple at night .TFTC, signed and replaced.
Quick find. Lots of people around but managed to retrieve and hide the cache without much attention. TFTC.
I looked a bit sus to people getting into nearby parked cars but managed to locate cache. Thanks.
A quick find while walking the dog. No pen to log. Will msg a pic of the log to the CO TFTC
Lots of places to look but found it eventually, not a hard place to look i was just looked past it so many times, TFTC
Found while out walking on a drizzly day in this lovely area.Pencil broke so photo instead Thanks
A day trip to Sydney to avenge a previous DNF on a great old cache. With the cache find a success, Tankengine, Albida, dty73, kittykatch, joolay, fitzy, minnieK and myself continued on for a day of great old caches and challenging puzzles. As well as other cool caches as we passed. The day was a lot of fun, the weather kind and the DEET our saviour! Loved the bush with great walks above creeks, awesome rock formations, with good people and great teamwork. Now, the leaches! OMG, they were plentiful, and huge! Which brings me back to the DEET!Located well with great parking and easily found. This was a great place to stop, the park was nice but the bridge and all the jellyfish in the water below super cool. Very pretty spot.
Headed to Sydney with fitzy_1965 and a hard die bunch of Canberrans for a quick caching mission. All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
We made a last minute trip to Sydney today to pick up some old caches, high D/T caches and others in between. It was a pretty good and successful day in the end. Not too hot, no DNFs and the time seemed to fly by. We had only found 2 leeches on us and some cuts and scratches. Considering the terrain we traversed we were lucky there werent any major issues. The team today consisted of - Joolay, Kittykatch, Aquilus1, Tankengine, albida33, minniek, fitzy_1965 and I. This cache: A nice quick find to start our walk around the area for a few caches. Such a nice spot in Sydney. Pretty popular too. Tftc!!!
Day trip to Sydney. I was really happy to be invited to join this trip. The main goal was an old Multi most of the team started on the last journey. Today, it was going to be finished. We had also worked out a series of tree puzzles along a walk that looked like it would be quite a challenge. To end the day we targeted two other old multi's, and we just managed to get them in, but had to defer the virtual nearby, maybe because we spent too long exploring the Como Reserve area where there was so much to see. The team today was Joolay, Kitty Katch, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Aquilus1, dty73 & Tankengine. It was an early start with a few tough walks, so the breaks we had were greatly appreciated. A long but entertaining day with very successful caching targets met.Aftr the challenge of the trees, we stopped for a short lunch break and then headed around to Como reserve to do the multi here along with LABs, a bonus and a few Trads. Thanks for the cache merrybeachmick45353.10 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & August 2019 Schneller Geist A#407**Albida**
34,073. Found with minniek and our wonderful group including Joolay, Kittykatch, Tankengine, dty73, Aquilus1 and albida33.Today's mission included three 2001 Golden Oldie caches (two for minniek and I), the TFTC Tree Climbing Series of puzzles, and a number of additional caches in the vicinities of those caches. An early start when we were picked up in Goulburn by Kittykatch, and after a quick breakfast catch-up in Marulen we were all on our way to Sydney. After one golden oldie multi and the TFTC series were found, we made our way over to this area for a number of finds. Parked nearly in pole position and with the group watching for muggles I made the find. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then it was a walk around the park for the AL.Thanks merrybeachmick !!
Nicely tucked away.An expedition to Sydney with a group to pick up an oldie and others. Not a bad day weather wise but muggy. Thanks for getting me out and about merrybeachmick
Found with Joolay, albida33, dty73, fitzy, Tankengine, Aquilus1 and minniek on a caching trip to Sydney. A quick find while in the area to find a targeted old multi cache. Thanks for the hide merrybeachmick
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 Aquilus1 albida33 KittyKatch Joolay minniek and fitzy_1965! On a nice overcast summers day. Humidity was under control as well! We were all nervous about ticks and leeches, so we deeted ourselves up to the max! One or two still got through, but we survived! It was a long day, leaving Canberra at around 6.30am in two cars. All in all, a great day's caching before the long drive home. Thanks merrybeachmick!
A nice little blended in hide that will be difficult to go missing. Nice work. TFTC
Almost back where we started. We're enjoying a lovely tour of a few Como streets, courtesy of raindoctor and the local COs. But even the most committed geocachers need a snack and/or toilet break. On our way to that, we crossed the road for raindoctor to make a quick find thanks to a different perspective.
As rassilon256 says high terrain for a normal height person, regular terrain for a Raindoctor
Thank you for placing this cache. This was the last cache of Part 1 of our adventure today. We needed a bathroom break and more importantly... snacks!
Out for an afternoon with Steeba in Sutherland Shire. Trying to get in a few caches before the Christmas Event.Cheers
I arrived for the event and had to park way up near the hotel. Not to worry, as there was an AL WP there. This was an easy fund, even for short stuff me TFTC
Initially couldnt find but after a hint from the event it was a quick find. TFTC
Found after lunch at the Como marina cafe. Wish we had done the cache first. Anyway all signed and replaced carefully unseen. TFTC.

272. After searching along the fence I reread the hint and thought about all the meanings, eventually got there. Left a bunch of little goodies inside, thanks
Fairly quick find with Passport11 during our walk from Oatley a few days ago. Met a couple of muggles who we might have converted into geocachers. Great day and fun cache. TFTC
The voucher did most of the finding while I had a conversation about Geocaching with a Muggle family.
One of those spots we’ve been to a million times, finally decided to grab this one!
A nice hiding spot for a cache. Nicely out of view of muggles. TFTC merrybeachmick
Yes, I've been to Como several times. Probably somewhere I wouldn't have visited if it wasn't for Geocaching as it's a bit off the normal track.
I love the historic hotel here, although I know it's not the original version. That one was burnt down but an exact replica was rebuilt on the same site.
This morning it was very busy here with lots of dog walking muggles. One drove off and left a spot for my geomobile but I had to wait out the others chatting in the carpark before I could stealthily head to GZ.
Once I did reach GZ it was quite a stretch for me to reach the cache!
Didn't seem so hard to replace it, maybe that stretch made me grow.

This cache is very close to where we are staying and I parked really close to GZ then started looking. After too much time where the GPS said I should be, I moved a short distance away for a quick find of the well hidden container. Thanks for a good hide.
Out caching with promuffinz on our bikes today.
Great hint, a bit of a odd cache for where it is. Signed the log and headed onto the next one.

Almost parked on top of the cache!

In the area with a group doing a history walk around this part of Como. GZ was close by our starting point. So a quick find before moving off. TFTC MBM.
Finished coffee nearby, wazza9 checked the phone. Off we go, soon located, signed log and replaced. Thanks to CO
TFTC,
Came back to our old playground for a coffee and a walk.
Took the time to build caches for this month's challenge.

After a lovely walk in this area, and across Como bridge, we could see that this one had been placed since our last visit to Sydney.
We had parked not too far from GZ, and so a visit into the small pocket of bushland, and a bit of a search, revealed the hide.
Our name has been added to the log.
Thanks merrybeachmick

(2 of 4 today - including 1 Adventure Lab)
Bumping up the calendar finds today - including the AL calendar.
Headed south this afternoon to Como - and I may well be back here on a few days.
Started with the AL - was hoping for a second, but couldn't find what was needed. Am I supposed to find some spray can graffiti on a rock? Hopefully not...
Then three traditionals - all drama free, thankfully.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Started with the AL in the Como Pleasure Gounds. Quick find of one location, but the other? Couldn't spot anything at the given coordinates (like the others) and a scramble also came up empty - but I did meet and old friend, needed for a multi, here.
So the location I did grab was:
# Como Pleasure Grounds Activities
###END OF ADVETURE LAB SECTION###
Nice easy find. My iPhone wanted one spot - nothing there - but expanding to a nearby logical spot quickly got the prize.
Added my name to the log, replaced and away to my next target.

Spent way too long here before making the find. Initially I poked around with a stick in the old rotting stump, only disturbing a couple of large spiders. Time to sit on the talegate and read the previous logs for a clue. Fortunately Brewmaker's was the one to lead me to the container.

Walked from Oatley in St George to Como in The Shire to find this cache. Easy find at accurate coords. TFTC merrybeachmick
Gotcha! TFTC
Found it with the Geohusband @Nosmada
So glad that I did knot listen to him and commence the treacherous walk up the hill on this 35°C day. Once again, I prevailed as the better geo-er.

After finding the local Christmas 2019 cache, thought I’d take a quick look for this one while it wasn’t busy. Too hot for some and the rest were at work or school, so the opportunity to search presented itself.
5 minutes of looking and there it was. A great little hiding place. TFTC.

I’m not quite there but sort of at the stage with much of The Shire I can keep on top of new caches- so was able to stop by this morning and make pretty light work of this one. Plenty of rain overnight in the nearby park but really had the place to myself. TFTC!
Found this one with no problems on a hot summer day. There was a nice breeze so it wasn’t too hot in the shade down at Como. TFTC
Joint [FTF] with phlphotos and GeodogZelda @ 9:30.
We were out on a morning walk when Zelda tells me that phlphotos had messaged to say a new cache had been published at Como. I hadn't even got an email, only other new ones a long way from here. A quick check of the map revealed there was one there, so we headed home and jumped in the car.
We got there in good time and managed a parking spot almost on top of GZ. Phlphotos was already there but hadn't found it yet. We had a look at one tree which had me 2m away, then wandered over to another larger one nearby which also had me 2m from GZ. A little reach and as per the hint, I spotted something and it was CIH.
Opened up to find a fresh log for us to claim a 3-way FTF and another one on a mbm hide. Thanks for putting them out and bringing us to another nice spot. This time by the marina. Lots of people out walking and enjoy the sunshine.
As we headed back to the car I noticed the CO turn up. So we had a chat before we went our separate ways. Have a FP. TFTC
PS: My notification arrived at 10:20!

We were out on a local walk when phlphotos messaged to say there was a new mbm hide at Como. Off we go and helped to locate the hide in the tree. Signed the blank log to have a joint [FTF]. Well, I stamped my paw print! That's good enough isn't it? TFTC
[*FTF*] Saw this one turn up as I was getting ready for a specialist appointment at Sutherland Hospital. So messaged GeodogZelda that I was heading to Como for Como. She advised her chauffeur what was on & Brewmaker replied that they were on their way. Got there as a group of dog walkers turned up so waited them out. Started my search in all the wrong places until Brew & GdZ turned up. In the first place GdZ looked she found the cache.
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache merrybeachmick
