Our last venture over the hill proved not much of a success as we underestimated the amount of caches on offer and didn't even clear half of what was on offer. With a good weather forecast today a plan was made and we decided to approach through the Wairau Valley and pick up some stragglers on the way. With 36 caches bagged including two adventure labs we're happy with our achievements having left only some because we run out of time.We found the cache exactly where the new hint suggests. The new replacement was there but the note not published last time we looked on the page.We could well have passed each other close to GZ.Baffled by the lack of concrete we looked for obvious hiding places and made the find.Good service by the CO.Thank you PaoloB72

While I ignored the suspicious group of rocks as not being in line with the hint of concrete Hazedarus had the nous to actually look there then handed me the pristine new log to sign which had obviously been replaced since the DNF the day before but before the CO had updated the hint.Thank you PaoloB72.

I suspected this would happen eventually. A new piece of fence has been installed. New container dropped off, now under rocks, base of middle section of iron fence.

Nup. No luck for us here today. Three sets of eyes, three brains. Nothing. Will keep it on my watch list.

Went on an early evening bicycle and e-scooter ride with my nephew to grab a few local caches. I was a member of the Lower Hutt RC club and moved to Renwick on the same day that the news broke that the Springlands track was closing. TFTC

Just flew in for a 6 week stint of work and a bit of geocaching. Nice to have a few new easy caches since my last visit here. Stretched the legs and signed the log. Thanks

{FTF} with NZDi at 8.15pm. We had been on holiday in our caravan and on arriving back home about 1.30pm, I checked my messages and there was one from the CO asking what FTFs I was intending to target and whether I expected anyone to target my own new listing. Having not seen my emails at that stage I responded it was unlikely I would be participating in any FTF chase while the post camping cleanup was in progress and told him to 'go nuts' or word to that effect. He responded saying he had already grabbed the two available FTFs.Later in the evening after five loads of washing were washed, dried and folded, the caravan was cleaned and replenished for a Waitangi weekend trip and we had consumed dinner, we decided to go for this. We managed to park less than 10m away from GZ and commenced our search. Initially we discarded the cache location, but when everything else failed, resorted to relying on the coordinates that brought us back here. We saw the cachw but not the line and managed to retrieve it. After signing the log in the prime position, we returned the cache with the line in a more visible position. Only a cacher would notice it.TFTC PaoloB72
