Found by Mary and David with the VIC1 group. Today we started with the Bon Accord track caches and several others around Harrietville. After lunch at the pub, we headed out of town to tyackle the F.L.A.K.E. cache, which we completed. We found few Trads and multis along the way, and finished the day with an Event at the Bright pub. Our thanks to Ronice88.
Ditched the car in favor of bicycles from now on. Had a very pleasant ride along the path grabbing these caches along the way. Thanks Ronice88
Chewinprickles, BettyBoo3747 and I decided upon today to try some of the F.L.A.K.E. puzzlesSo we loaded up the deadly treadlies and set off for Harrietville. We had solved them all when they first came out, but had not got around to look for them. We had to look at the puzzles again as so many of the hides were well themed.Nice puzzles and great hides for this series.Do like a straight forward logic puzzle. And a good sized cache for this part of the series. Thanks, Robmc.
# 21642. The puzzle solver Robmc has had these done for a long time now. While the weather is still pleasant and with all the autumn colour in full force we decided to team up with Chewinprickles and have a nice ride and some harder walking to knock over this series. We weren't quite sure which way to enter for this one, ,but what a lovely spot by the river and a couple of massive fallen trees. Cache retrieved, and a big one to boot, with a lot of swaps I noticed. Made our way back out and continued on our way. Thanks Ronice88
After a lovely relaxing lunch by the river and a change of clothes as it was warming up, we set off for an arvo of caching admiring the beautiful surrounds at different points along the way. This was the next for the arvo and we loved GZ here... such a fairyland atmosphere, which doesnt show up in the photos that well but its lovely! We had actually overshot the entrance to GZ and went in further along so it was very pretty wending our way through here! We're also impressed at the number of large containers in this series!! After a couple of days walking out and staying overnight at federation Hut , Mt Feathertop with Purplepeopleater. We had a go at doing caches around Harrietville and surrounding areas. With Puzzles solved and traditional cached to get, it made for a busy day of easy and not so easy terrain ratings. I will be back another day to finish off some of the ones we missed. TFTCMCheers dkmacca
Down in the Victorian Highlands for a couple of days hiking and geocaching with DKMakka. Perfect weather and a welcome relief from the Sydney humidity.Solved the Flake Series in anticipation of our trip, and enjoyed the well themed and innovative puzzles. A lot of work has gone into the caches themselves and it was great to discover some monster size caches mixed into. An excellent series and loads of fun (and effort) Thanks Ronnice88, I will be back hopefully sooner than later to this wonderful area.SL TFTC
Found at 10:15 AM GAFF1.What the heck is this - a large!! Loved it Gets an FP just for that! Thanks to Ronice88
LARGE LARGE LARGE!!! Just like the amount of time I spent on this puzzle! Thought I was fairly logically inclined but one of the last to solve!Out with weirdobiker today with the aim of completing the F.L.A.K.E. series. Again stunning weather and scenery. It actually snowed twice where i grew up - remarkable really given we lived near sea level. We had a totally magical and fun experience, we hooned down the hills on our boogie boards and made snowpeople and snow angles and all things snow really!! My brothers delighted in making yellow snow. We loved it so much we convinced dad to run in the new farm Land Rover with 10 kids packed in the back to go to Mt Baw Baw.Solving these puzzles has been a work in progress, which didn't really matter as I wondered if I would ever be up this way. But, as Ronice would say "Bingo Bango" and here I am in attitude / altitude mountains and having great nature adventures, today with weirdobiker having a blast finding as many of the F.L.A.K.E. series as we can. Love the variety, locations, sometimes adventures, BUT....most of all the anticipation of what we would discover at GZ and subsequent joy on finding the cache! Thanks for another amazing series Ronice, and for your gorgeous visuals and creative caches.regardskbucky
I was out with kbucky today to collect the majority of the SNOMO series. It was a beautiful day to be walking along the Bon Accord track. The numerous bird calls really added to the magical atmosphere of this lovely setting. We had a very busy day, walking over 13km's and then a quick bike ride along the Great Alpine road to collect some of the F.L.A.K.E series. It was a coincidence that I met a local woman hiking on the Bon Accord track and then I met her again, and her husband, on the bike trail as they were also riding. We were surprised to cross paths twice in the same day. This puzzle was a very difficult one and I had to call on my son to assist me with it. Thank goodness he came through with the numbers and the checker liked what he had provided.
FTF. Found on a trip to Harrietville. I have been frantically solving puzzles for this trip. Only had a few days so didn't manage to get them all solved yet. Then someone else did a quick trip and grabbed lots of the FTFs, luckily there were a few left and I had managed to solve some of them so still had the chance to get a few. This was a very fun puzzle although it took a little while to sort it out. Then the cache was a nice large size with some good swaps, but one thing was missing, there was no log. OOOOPS. I added a slip of paper which I stamped. Hopefully a real log can be added in soon. TFTC
