Heading to the airport early to collect GeohoundandI so we parked around the corner and walked back to here. Found the cache in the first place I looked. What a brilliant hidey hole, it was perfect for a cache. The cache was jammed into place, so no worries about that falling out. I thought it was going to be another of "The Bee Hive" type caches where the tree had grown around it, but it did come out, so once the log was signed I jammed it back in place.
Passing through, it would be rude not to grab this one. Thanks tramyard for the cache Find#213
Nice hide, TFTC Beautiful pukapuka and other native plants, a very pretty hideaway.
This the closest cache to the accommodation find that has to happen! We set off early on a walk to find a few before breakfast. This is a nice quiet-ish spot for a cache and it was found safe & sound in its hidey spot. I dropped a TB that I picked up @mega a couple of weeks ago. Thanks and lets hope the borders dont close like that again!
Hard to believe it was shut down for that long. My trip to Japan was delayed as well. It was set to start on March 24th, 2020. Grateful those specific days are in the past and I hope we learned a few things along the way.
Happened to be staying nearby unexpectedly after returning from an overseas holiday, so we went for a walk in the morning before check out. Nice quick find in the first place I tried. Thanks for the cache!
I'm in Auckland for a couple of days and for a change it has nothing to do with work (up the Irons!). So I've got nothing to stop my caching activities except being limited to public transport. Maybe I'll spot a Yeti with his very distinctive coat (GCAT2T2). (I didn't but I know he was up the front there somewhere). The start of my final bit of journey, the walk to the airport. Left the wood geocoin. All good here, and thank you to tramyard for the placement of your Traditional Cache.Find #7108 at 17 September 2024 1:44pm

Live life one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!! Tomorrow may never come just grab Life by the horns Thanks for the hide tftc
This location looks very familiar. There was some other cache here in years gone by that was removed when the CO fled town. Good to see that the GROTTY-vacuum was filled. TFTC.
Out picking a friend up at the airport so enjoyed walking to grab a few caches while i waited. Nice quick find here. [TFTC]
After having returned our camper van after 5 weeks driving across New Zealand I walked back to the hotel and came across this cache here. TFTC says Fischus
Flew into Auckland this morning, and decided to look for some caches this afternoon. Nice spot! TFTC 18D & L6671
Found together with Heureka10.Our first in New Zealand. Thanks for the cache.Greetings from Czech Republic.
Found together with Kendar05. Thank you for the cache. Greetings from Czech Republic.
In transit between Adelaide and Nelson. My flight was late and I missed the connection home. Air NZ sent me to this hotel and when I went to check in I was told that Air NZ had sent me to the wrong pub and I needed to go to Jetpark.Gkmlb were in the same boat so while we waited for a taxi we zapped around in the dark to make the find. They were the last finder so Gk came along to make sure I made a quick find.TFTC
We were on our way to Adelaide to attend the Mega event on leap day and needed to find a cache in New Zealand on the sme day that we found one on Adelaide. So I made our flights and accommodation to suit that purpose. I looked for a motel with a cache nearby and here we are logging a find on this cache. It worked perfectly as it only took minutes to walk here and find the cache in the first place gk looked. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
Having flown in this morning I was making my way north on foot grabbing a few caches. Able to duck in and grab this one. Thanks for the cache.
Needed a quick cache before heading out for a flight. This was near the rental car return so it worked out great. Thanks!
After finishing work for the week, I am staying up in Auckland to visit daughter and family. I picked up a rental car not too far from here and stopped by to find the cache. Cache found in the first place I checked. (Lest we forget) TFTC, Biggles.
Plane arrival delayed so time to do some cachingI helped with the engineering and land surveying of this first industrial subdivision here in the 1970s. Marking out the roads and pegging out the sections from the old trotting tracks here before. Changed a lot since thenQuick find
We are on our way to pick up our hire car.I was able to find this cache quickly.TFTC
We remember finding one of Agazo's caches here a few years ago and are pleased to see a new cache in this spot. When we were last here the nearby hotel was being used as an MIQ facility and the area was pretty deserted. The bushes have grown a lot since then. We parked nearby and made the short walk to GZ where we took a couple of minutes to find the cache as it wasn't quite where the hint suggested. But once we set our sights twice as high as the hint we had the cache in hand.We have returned it to the logical spot consistent with the hint and covered it with some natural camo. Thanks for the hide tramyard, this peaceful little haven is a perfect place for a cache.
An unexpected stay at a nearby Hillel gave me the opportunity to grab this one! Nice natural and unnatural camouflage used! TFTC!
Picking up the camper van at Jucys I quickly went to grab this cache **864 days - (New Zealand)**Im glad that New Zealand is open to visitors again, otherwise we could not come here from Switzerland !!!Thanks, tramyard, for contributing to the game. TFTC
Needed to get our adventuring today. None of the family wanted to join so I just got in the car and started following the icons on the map! Parked up across the road (safely) and wandered on over. Wondered if I was in the wrong spot initially but nope the GPS was still saying I was heading in the right direction. Took a moment to find the right specimen at GZ and then the log was in hand. Thanks for the cache.
Up in Auckland for the night before our flight out in the morning. A quick grab here. Busy tonight. Tftc
Day 1: The Route from the AirportWe arrived in New Zealand just after lunch, and with half a day left, what better way to kick off my third trip to NZ than to hit the ground (or runway, in this case) running? The trail leading out from the airport was a tempting choice, and despite the rain, I opted to go for it. My luggage and partner headed for my sisters place first, while I stayed behind at the airport to get the business here done. After 4 hours, with a slight bit of rain, a successful cache run was completed and I could get back in time for dinner!(End of the cut and paste bit)This is the specific log for this cache:Heres a poignant reminder of the years past that were some of the oddest and most difficult in recent memory. Ive really missed NZ in the interim period and I am so glad to be back here again. Thanks for putting this out, it was an easy find here despite the little detour. TFTC!
Air NZ decided my already troublesome trip should have an unscheduled overnight stop in Auckland. It wasn't unpleasant to be honest and if course I used it as an opportunity to find a cache. There were a few nearby but my early start went a big mission wasn't really an option.I started on the wrong side of the fence but still checked some areas before an ill-advised climb over said fence that thankfully went well. The cache was then easily found.Interestingly, and appropriately, I was stranded here with two people who manned the MIF here.T F T C tramyard.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Working in the area and not a lot of time to go off on a hunt - so disappointing! Just time for this cache. We stepped off the path and into the treeline. A shaded, secluded spot between a busy road and a large motel. It didn't take long to spot the cache and complete the business. We didn't plan our re emergence onto the footpath well and appeared almost together. Yes, we know how that looked for passing motorists... Thanks tramyard. TFTC.
First NZ cache! On the wrong side of the fence at first so went for a stroll
TFTCFound with Missy1803.After our motor home adventure around some of the North Island, this motel nearby is our last night in NZ.
Parked up around the corner and a short walk to grab the cache. Thank you tramyard for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 4865
30 years ago was our first visit in NZ, geocaching didn't even exist;-)This year we are back in NZ to enjoy this superb country. And yes the first cache found by us in NZ is this cache.Very happy that we can enter the country again.Greetings from Team Camperfietser the Netherlands
While waiting at the nearby motel, I checked the map and found 4 or 5 caches close enough to grab while just otherwise sitting around.
I had noticed this spot when we got off the bus and refrained from mentioning it to my long-suffering non-caching wife as a good spot to hide a cache. Turns out I was right and she rolled her eyes at me!
I even did this BFE style, which for those not from Adelaide, is named after "Bob From Elsewhere" who found over 1100 caches by just using the geocaching map and eyeballing the location. No GPS, no phones, just poking about in the bushes.
Glad the country is open to visitors again. Thanks from Adelaide.

Taking an early morning ️ which requires a night b4 in the area. Good opportunity to go for a walk with Geocaching as an incentive.
School holidays and time for a road trip to Auckland to visit family. Just dropped off friends at the airport and finding some nearby caches. Interesting numbers. Cache and log all fine. Thanks tramyard for the smiley.
I remember quite well that horrible period in time! My brother and I learned new ways to cook, came up with some cool recipes as there was little else to do when you could not leave Auckland and the Auckland 'caching police' were over the top with their self righteous comments about staying home etc. Then there was so many people going thru bad times due to not being able to work.
Not long to go now before I can say I have completed the C.O's challenge cache, this one involving no park n' grabs. This cache was targeted because it fills that. Thanks tramyard, a FP from me.

After a two hour walk around the Mangere Lagoon Path with a substantial detour into Ambury Farm Park via the Lost Gardens Walk its time to grab a few more hides before home time. I borrowed some parking from the nearby hotel and made the short walk back and around to ground zero. No issues with the find as I found it in the very first spot I checked. Recovered with natural camo before leaving. Cheers for the cache placement!
On our last day we made a walk in the evening and did some caches around the water. TFTC!
On approach I wondered if we really wanted to do this cache at night, but it turned out nice and easy - thought it was going to be a bush bash but it wasn't at all. Found with Jagersmum. TFTC!!!
Was in the area yesterday and saw this one....anyone who knows me well enough knows that those 864 days were extremely hard. The border closure to tourists also meant that it's own citizens/residents were also affected, but maybe that is a different forum. Anyway thanks for the cache placement but an era in NZ history that I would sooner forget.
Our last day in New Zealand - and a STF! What a pleasure! Thanks to Tramyard for hiding - well found!
As I was lazing around at home today ...I had a text from Gorby to say there was a chance I could go for some ftfs at Mangere!
Jumped out of the bath....brought my bowl
of breakfast and some fruit with me ...and off I went!
Luckily the traffic was minimal by that time!
Parked round the corner and walked back for a quick find!
That is a great place to hide a cache!
Should be safe there tramyard.
Thanks for the new cache...{ FTF }
A good idea.....Had no idea the borders were closed for thst long.....Thanks tramyard....
