OCW PelDroedGwin Lovely to meet and read about the Aussie hero.Geodog Peppa would have loved her photo here too but its to hot today so shes at the caravan in the aircon.Tftc
Wow what a great cache Tommy4611, and such fun to find. Buddy the geodog helped us with this one. Found on September 20, 2024. # 9699
Found at 1:26 PM GAFF3.Some interesting information about the area and once again about smelly; mangie dog We really struggled with this cache and we knew we would as it is rated so low. We usually say with caches like this that are rated 1.5/1.0 or lower - "We are going to be in trouble here aren't we?" and this was no exception! We looked all over the place for an eclipse tin and then a group of muggles came over and started to read all of the panels - felt like giving them a precis and asking them to move along Eventually c-pprass changes tact as to where to look for an eclipse tin and scratches at the bottom where a nano was totally covered with no "cache indicator" ion place - and this was a D1.5/1.0 Thanks to Tommy4611Feedback: Cache is a nano not an eclipse tin.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 103 - Pannawonica to Dampier via Fortescure River Road house. After two fantastic days around the mining town of Pannawonica, it was time to move on. I had a DNF to avenge along the way and then , after a midday arrival at Dampier and set up, I spent a long afternoon on some very hot hills amongst red rocks. Something I am going to get used to over the next few days. I had a look at the rock art in an area much changed from my last visit, and then an afternoon visit to a pub to try and cool down before a warm night overlooking the Dampier Archipelago and the tunes of ore loaders going all night. Only a short hop to Karratha tomorrow, booking van sites has been a real hassle.Without the van, I spent a fun afternoon around the Burrup peninsula and Dampier visiting caches that were not too hard to get to. I have never really followed this story, but it seems quite popular. I had to wait for another tourist to finish with the signs, but had no problems locating this cache, despite it being a nasty pesky small cache. Thanks for the cache Tommy461148767.7 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & First Geocoin in Orbit Silver A#105**Albida**
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine, Edith Falls, Kunnurra, Bungles Bungle, Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now again on the sealed road again. From Derby, Broome, Port Hedland direction Karratha .Didn't looked for a nano, but eventually found one .TFTC# 17'188
My all time favourite location in Dampier and a must visit every time we are up here, much to Mr dimors disgust as he thinks because nothing has changed since last time we dont need to visit again Well its Red Dog of course need to visit each time, seriously the man has no idea . My two young grandsons live local and its me that has brought them here for their first photos with Red Dog (bad parenting from my daughter )The history is a good read too but nothing beats Red Dog TFTCA favourite point for the location
Found today as we explored Karratha and Dampier for the afternoon . Unfortunately as we were about to pull into the tourist bay a van going the other way threw up a stone and damaged our windscreen. Anyhow thanks for the cache.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT then over the top of WA to Perth.Interesting detours to Thursday Island, Mabuiag Island, Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Hells Gate, Nhulunbuy, Wadeye, Litchfield Nat Park, Wyndham and the Gibb River Road.TFTC.Nice quick dog visit.
Found 14:48Three months of travelling in Western Australia with Muggle friends from the East coast; stopover in Singapore on the outward and return flights. Caches and labs where they are on the way and can be done without too much effort. You may forgive me for using the same standard phrase everywhere, but there's not much more to it than that. Many thanks to all the owners for making our hobby possible. If there is anything wrong with the cache, more detailed information follows.
Found on a great blue sky day. Had to wait for some muggles to go but all goodTFTCCheersLeadn Lace
Thanks for the find! Great area, we loved Dampier. And coming here with the kids after showing them the Red Dog movie was cool.
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. We camped at Point Samson last night, then made our way to Karratha, finding a few caches of interest along the way.It began raining early this morning and we are enjoying a cool day today. The cache was quickly found, signed and replaced in the rain. Thanks Tommy4611 for the cache.
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia. We spent four nights in the north-west, staying at De Grey River near Port Hedland, Point Samson, Dampier and SW of Karratha to target a selection of caches while in the general area. Thanks for the cache Tommy4611!
We came for the markets, but given they got washed out, it was time for some caching. Waited our time on this one, we managed retrieval between muggles. Tftc
I put it back in the place indicated by the hint----------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well.Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.
Certainly a true hero. Loved the movie and so glad to find this memorial on our travels. Tftc
#780 ~ First find of the day. Lucky I turned up when I did. The Cache had been muggled and was totally exposed in three pieces!!! Signed the log and hid it again. TFTC!!

Quick find of what doesn't appear to be the original container in an obvious place given the hint. Tftc

Finding myself with some free time in karratha, I decided to see what geocaches are about.
It's been some time since I've been geocaching, and this caught my eye as it was new and unfound. I didn't think I would get the FTF but thought I would give it a shot.
Sadly for me it has already been found 6 days ago.
Congratulations on your first hide Tommy4611, welcome to the cache owners club
