Second day with a Group of cachers who also collaborated on the puzzles. We had a most enjoyable two days in the area. Many thanks for all the caches. Signed as Vic1.
Found by Mary and David with the VIC1 group. Today we started with the Bon Accord track caches and several others around Harrietville. After lunch at the pub, we headed out of town to tyackle the F.L.A.K.E. cache, which we completed. We found few Trads and multis along the way, and finished the day with an Event at the Bright pub. Our thanks to Ronice88.
Found today on day 2 of our Snomo and Flake series in company of maccamob, Muzza, Alansee, micaparamedic, McLookers, feathertop and ThePacman. Log signed as VIC1. This was found on our afternoon walk through the Flake series. Thanks from D B-A
We made really hard work of this one too. The T rating of the cache was nothing like we experienced. Excellent cache construction. A favourite from me.Much puzzle solving and planning. Fuelled up after lunch. Log signed as VIC1. Found today with maccamob, Muzza, Alansee, micaparamedic, Rabbitto, feathertop and ThePacman. Thanks for placing the cache Ronice88.
Out today around Harrietville with Alansee, Feathertop, Maccamob, Rabbitto, Pacman, Micaparamedic and McLookers, concentrating mainly on finishing the SNOMO caches before lunch, then F.L.A.K.E., with a few others along the way. All caches found in good order. Signed or stamped as Vic1.My thanks to Ronice88 for the cache.
And so to the Flake caches. Following lunch in humid stormy conditions we set off on a long bike path walk. All caches found with nice coords. A few trads found as well. Log signed as VIC1. Found today with maccamob, Muzza, Alansee, micaparamedic, Rabbitto, Mclookers and ThePacman. Day 2 and weather threatening.Onto our last section now. A rugged walk off track for some of the wayThanks Ronice88
Chewinprickles, BettyBoo3747 and I decided upon today to try some of the F.L.A.K.E. puzzlesSo we loaded up the deadly treadlies and set off for Harrietville. We had solved them all when they first came out, but had not got around to look for them. We had to look at the puzzles again as so many of the hides were well themed.Nice puzzles and great hides for this series.I have cross country skied a fair bit, but have never taken part in a Hoppet. (Unlike Randolph the Rat)It is also hard to know if the size of the cache should be the log holder or the overall size of the outer container. Thanks, Robmc.
Drove to the first few of these caches before resorting to Shanks pony for a few more. Impressed with the size and detail in many of these hides. I think it was this one that had us a fair way off the track and a but of circling to find a way in. Made it in the end however. Thanks again Ronice88
# 21634. The puzzle solver Robmc has had these done for a long time now. While the weather is still pleasant and with all the autumn colour in full force we decided to team up with Chewinprickles and have a nice ride and some harder walking to knock over this series.Last three entailing a walk - not very good or fast at that but never mind. Looking forward to getting to the riding part of the day. Thanks Ronice88
After a couple of days walking out and staying overnight at federation Hut , Mt Feathertop with Purplepeopleater. We had a go at doing caches around Harrietville and surrounding areas. With Puzzles solved and traditional cached to get, it made for a busy day of easy and not so easy terrain ratings. I will be back another day to finish off some of the ones we missed. TFTCMCheers dkmacca
Down in the Victorian Highlands for a couple of days hiking and geocaching with DKMakka. Perfect weather and a welcome relief from the Sydney humidity.Solved the Flake Series in anticipation of our trip, and enjoyed the well themed and innovative puzzles. A lot of work has gone into the caches themselves and it was great to discover some monster size caches mixed into. An excellent series and loads of fun (and effort) Thanks Ronnice88, I will be back hopefully sooner than later to this wonderful area.SL TFTC
Found at 1:03 PM GAFF1.Oh no not a micro in the bush [xx(] But wait! As I approached GZ I could see something much bigger than a micro - oh thank you so much Managed to then find a track that I probably should have been on all long the way! Thanks to Ronice88
Fabulous cache and definitely a fave point! In working through puzzle discovered that Ronice has competed in all 16 Loppets and is a XC skiing guru in Australia - described as 'klister'! Could be a new nickname?Out with weirdobiker today with the aim of completing the F.L.A.K.E. series. Again stunning weather and scenery. It actually snowed twice where i grew up - remarkable really given we lived near sea level. We had a totally magical and fun experience, we hooned down the hills on our boogie boards and made snowpeople and snow angles and all things snow really!! My brothers delighted in making yellow snow. We loved it so much we convinced dad to run in the new farm Land Rover with 10 kids packed in the back to go to Mt Baw Baw.Solving these puzzles has been a work in progress, which didn't really matter as I wondered if I would ever be up this way. But, as Ronice would say "Bingo Bango" and here I am in attitude / altitude mountains and having great nature adventures, today with weirdobiker having a blast finding as many of the F.L.A.K.E. series as we can. Love the variety, locations, sometimes adventures, BUT....most of all the anticipation of what we would discover at GZ and subsequent joy on finding the cache! Thanks for another amazing series Ronice, and for your gorgeous visuals and creative caches.regardskbucky
Found with kbucky while out on an early morning adventure. A few of worked on this one to get some coordinates that satisfied the checker. This was another interesting puzzle and I loved the quirky and unique hide. Definitely a favourite point for this one
FTF. Found on a trip to Harrietville. I have been frantically solving puzzles for this trip. Only had a few days so didn't manage to get them all solved yet. Then someone else did a quick trip and grabbed lots of the FTFs, luckily there were a few left and I had managed to solve some of them so still had the chance to get a few. This puzzle gave a few problems, not with the solving but a checker error. Once that was sorted it was OK. Took way to long to spot this at GZ, my devie had me going around in circles and I was fearing a DNF when I finally spotted something a bit further from where I had been looking. Loved the cache, once you find it you will see what I mean. TFTC
Profound apologies...alerted to a changes in the contemporary source...Certitude has been updated so the 'puzzle' can be completed as described on the cache page. I can confirm that the races I skied in were as per the original puzzle!! Thanks for patience and thanks to ScifiRulz for testing!!
