And so to the Flake caches. Following lunch in humid stormy conditions we set off on a long bike path walk. All caches found with nice coords. A few trads found as well. Log signed as VIC1. Found today with maccamob, Muzza, Alansee, micaparamedic, Rabbitto, Mclookers and ThePacman. Day 2 and weather threatening. Onto the last section now. Thanks Ronice88
Found by Mary and David with the VIC1 group. Today we started with the Bon Accord track caches and several others around Harrietville. After lunch at the pub, we headed out of town to tyackle the F.L.A.K.E. cache, which we completed. We found few Trads and multis along the way, and finished the day with an Event at the Bright pub. Our thanks to Ronice88.
Came up here with Robmc and Betty Boo to collect as many of the FLAKE series as we could. This was the first and it set the scene on what we might expect, that being the effort put into the making and set up of these caches is exemplary. Thanks Ronice88.
Chewinprickles, BettyBoo3747 and I decided upon today to try some of the F.L.A.K.E. puzzlesSo we loaded up the deadly treadlies and set off for Harrietville. We had solved them all when they first came out, but had not got around to look for them.We had to look at the puzzles again as so many of the hides were well themed.Nice puzzles and great hides for this series. We started along Cemetery Road deciding to do some walking before we started riding the main trail. This was the fist cache of the day.We had to re-look at the puzzle to realise what all those characters were doing in the cache!A nice easy find, and we hoped that this would continue for the rest of the series. Thanks, Robmc.
# 21624. The puzzle solver Robmc has had these done for a long time now. While the weather is still pleasant and with all the autumn colour in full force we decided to team up with Chewinprickles and have a nice ride and some harder walking to knock over this series. We were in Harrietville by 9.00am and decided on the walking ones first - a wise move to get them over and done with and get onto the pleasant riding ones. This was the first for the day. Thanks Ronice88
We had solved these caches bit by bit when they came out and what great puzzles they were! We had asked our niece about the weather up here and she said it can be warmer in summer and cooler in winter so we waited thill the weather was cooling down a bit in Melbourne and on the spur of the moment on Saturday we booked a place for Mon-Thur! After taking pretty much a whole day to get here yesterday and catching up with our niece late arvo there was no time to do any caches here yesterday so we made up for it today!! We headed north out of Harrietville and this was the first cache for the day. We were moogled by the cows over the road but the cool cache was easily found and logged. The wether was a lovely cool 10 degrees at this stage. Lol TFTC Ronice88 - GJMMelb
After a couple of days walking out and staying overnight at federation Hut , Mt Feathertop with Purplepeopleater. We had a go at doing caches around Harrietville and surrounding areas. With Puzzles solved and traditional cached to get, it made for a busy day of easy and not so easy terrain ratings. I will be back another day to finish off some of the ones we missed. TFTCMCheers dkmacca
Down in the Victorian Highlands for a couple of days hiking and geocaching with DKMakka. Perfect weather and a welcome relief from the Sydney humidity.Solved the Flake Series in anticipation of our trip, and enjoyed the well themed and innovative puzzles. A lot of work has gone into the caches themselves and it was great to discover some monster size caches mixed into. An excellent series and loads of fun (and effort) Thanks Ronnice88, I will be back hopefully sooner than later to this wonderful area.SL TFTC
Found at 11:31 AM GAFF1.When I arrived at GZ there was a herd of cattle right next to the fence in the shade of the tree - just standing there! So I watched them to see what they were doing and all they were doing was watching me! A guy then drives up, stops and says to me "are they talking to you?"We then had a bit of a chat and when he left, I took a deep breath - 'cause those cattle stink - and spotted the container. Thanks to Ronice88
{FTF} Found by chance - so so sorry Evelyn! What a treasure trove! The effort to make this cache is immense and even though Pam and I were like 2 naughty kids, we were excited at the prospect of someone finding this cache who actually has little children to discover all the goodies. Love that many of Ronice's caches have such amazing SWAG.well done Ronice!
Joint FTF with kbucky while out on an early morning adventure. This was such a great cache with lots of goodies for FTF but I didnt take anything. Im sure any younger geocachers would love this stash. We loved this cache and definitely deserves a favourite point
Found on a return trip to an area I had already visited. The FTFinders on this cache were a bit sheepish when they told me about it, I had solved it and they hadn't. They took a punt while in the area and just searched around until they found it. It was another interesting puzzle and a great themed cache. This was the last in the area I looked for today, but will have to return another time to find some more up this road. TFTC
The Snow Flake! I was a bit late to the party with this new geoart and needed assistance with most of the puzzle solves but I managed to get a few to collect whilst in town with the geokids this long weekend Awesome work with the hides again Ronice! Big caches are something you do so well! And the kids appreciate it!Lots of hard work has gone into the creation of this series. Thank you! Its a beautiful place to go searching for caches in.
