Had solved a while ago. Came & looked today. Used the photos for location. However, the plants have grown a lot more. I did not want to destroy plants trying to find the cache if that is where it was placed. Lifted a few but left without the cache.
We have made numerous visits to Mount Barker over the last five years and have watched the rapid increase in new estates but many of them were in the early stages. We returned today to attempt the caches that have been published since our last visit in August 2023. It is now obvious that we had previously seen only part of the housing boom in the area - the estates are much more extensive that we realised. The economic activity generated much be great for Mount Barker but we cringed at times with the design of many of the dwellings and the lack of space between many of the dwellings. We could not see ourselves living in such close proximity to neighbours. When preparing for this trip, we saw this puzzle and soon had it solved. As it was on our route of our tour today, we stopped to look for the cache. After exploring the obvious with no success, we looked more carefully and quickly found the cache in a familiar style of hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks thomas_the_tank for the puzzle and the cache.
Took a bit to find.-Thank you for maintaining and placing this cache! Time for a Wednesday Wander with a couple of other Confused Cachers, after picking up the Rat from her nest and the Starfish from his pool it was time to head for today's playing field of Mount Barker and the surrounding area. Quite a variety of trads, multis and puzzles were found, sometimes wanted by all three of us, sometimes by only two and occasionally only by one. By the time it was time to head for homes we all had a satisfying number of finds and the local cacher managed to do some maintenance. With no-one around parked nice and close to GZ and was barely out of the car before the Rat had the cache in her paws. Thanks to thomas_tha_tank for another in this nice series.Cache #14231 for me.This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Tuesday trekking turned into a Wednesday wander for a trio of Confused Puzzlers. The plan was for ttrogg to pick up the Rat from the Rat's nest.We then drove up to pick up the Starfish from his abode.Today's plan was to cache around the hills.A quick easy puzzle solved. An even quicker find and stamp of the logbook.Returned the cache to it's hiding place. Found in the open so placed back in the bushes Today I headed up into the hills to Little Hampton to attend an event, after the event I made my way around Mount Barker finding a few caches yet to be found before making my way down into the city to find some newer caches. Thanks for the cache
Confused with the cigarette lighter. Expanded the search and there it was. Would never find this on a Saturday in winter! TFTC thomas_tha_tank. Thanks for adding this cache to the map.
I left Hahndorf and it was misty, but it didnt deter me, I had to get out for some air and a walk. I came to Mount Barker and found 3 others, then decided that this one was a close location to the shortest way out the neighborhood. I struggled at GZ in the light rain, ignoring the obvious nob on a pole. Desperately trying not to disturb too much garden, and getting my shoes and sleeve wet, I relented for a PAF. Dang, I must have swept my hand right past it. Cache found signed and returned.
Thanks for this cache thomas_tha_tank. Cache in good condition. Find #8858 at 5.31pm in the heavy mist. A long drive home now with wet socks, all will be well with my feet in front of the heater at home.

Another day out with the JAMS team primarily to host our first CITO at Mt Barker summit. We had time for a few caches and Adventure Labs on our way, then when the CITO was finished we headed to Lobethal and surrounds. The day started out cold but the rain held off until the afternoon when we stopped for some lunch. By the time we had finished lunch the rain had stopped so we were able to find a few more caches before heading home.
An easy solve of this one but we made finding the cache way harder than it should have been! Concentrating on something we thought was the cache and it turns out it wasn't...so then we looked elsewhere and soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks for the cache thomas_tha_tank.

Found on my way home after attending the 'Clean up Mount Barker Summit' CITO. Thanks for the cache thomas_tha_tank!
Solved by a JAMS member. Found after the Clean up Mount Barker Summit CITO. Not a quick find. I am blaming the rain. I think the leaner driver going in circles in the carpark thinks we we are crazy. I think the plants got a bit trampled finding this one.
The JAMS crew ( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and Sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound is overseas currently so didn't join us, were out on our monthly outing. All logs stamped as JAMS. Today it was off to Mount Barker Summit to the CITO the JAMS crew is hosting and then heading in the general direction of Lobethal. We were targeting the 3 adventure labs and whatever caches any of the JAMS crew hadn't done, so there was a lot of revisits to caches for me till we cached above Nairne. We had scattered showers till a slightly late lunch when it poured down, after lunch the rain went away and came back as we were leaving Mount Barker on route home.

The three of us were here this morning for Teen Tardis' soccer match. Good news on two counts:
1) The cache was found
2) The soccer game was won.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache thomas_tha_tank.

Arrived at quiet time so was able to search unhindered. Thanks thomas_tha_tank.
Solved ages ago, finally on way to Strath, so a slight detour to this new development. So had a look around at all the new facilities first.
Found cache reasonably quickly, a few metres from my calculated..
TNLNSL
Thanks

This one was solved shortly after it first came out, and tonight we had a bit of spare time so ducked across to make a reasonably quick find.
I wish I could solve a few others by this CO as fast as this one!
Cheers thomas tha tank, TFTC.

This was to be number 1500 for me!!! Even though I didn't know it at the time... We had done a bunch of caches this afternoon, so lost count. Naughtybunny and I were on the way to get a pizza tonight and decided to duck in on the way and grab this one. It took a little longer than expected as we thought it was going to be a little more creative and we looked in the unusual spots. Was happy to find this and cross it off my map so Mt barker is now a sea of yellow smileys again. TNLN. Cheers.
I came here last weekend when there were endless muggles around.
Today the coast was clear but that didn't make for a quick find.
Those plants are going to get a beating.

This was my closest to home cache. The good folks at geo HQ thought putting out a challenge in the northern hemisphere summer where you found a cache on most days of June was a good idea. But here I was in the southern hemisphere where there had been thunder and lightning and rain..lots of rain, so I was content to stay home and out of it.
But the rain cleared and the sun shone briefly so I jumped in the car and drove towards this cache. It started to rain again...bugger. As I approached GZ the rain miraculously stopped whilst I made the find and rescued the TB. Of course it rained all the way home but at least I am one day closer to the challenge.

*FTF* @ 09:15. D1 puzzles get my attention; theres a chance that I may be be able to solve them. This one almost seemed too easy; I wondered that there might be a catch, but the checker gave me a green tick and updated my coordinates. Clearly Im not using the same platform as Brad&Janet, as the aerial map showed a soccer pitch, but worryingly, it looked like the cache was on the pitch. I decided to give it a shot anyway. All quiet at the listed coordinates, but there was a locked gate protecting the pitch, and 19 meters was the closest I could get. The search was spread out, a hunch was acted upon, and the cache was found. I messaged the CO and its all sorted out now. A TB was dropped. Ive done well out of this series! Thanks for this growing body of work thomas_tha_tank.
It appears the coordinates are wrong, so will have to revise, and reactivate accordingly.
puzzle modified to reflect correct coordinates, and should now be agreeing to geo checker.
If satellite view is to be believed it seems the final is in the middle if a wheat field?
Found at 12:12 pm. Just Uni and Luna grabbing a few caches. We didn't notice this one had been found, nor that it had been disabled, but it was a nice drive.
Better coordinates sent to CO
