Long drive with IolantheK to collect some radio performance data and visit the Granddaughter for her birthday Collected a few caches along the way TFTC KezzBear
Tomorrow is our granddaughter's 4th birthday party down at Murwillumbah, and today we are taking a very extended route from Brisbane to get there! After driving the M1 south to Beenleigh we headed south west through Tamborine, Beaudesert, Rathdowney and almost to Woodenbong, then south east to Kyogle, then north east on Kyogle Road through Lillian Rock and Uki to Murwillumbah. A total of 283kms, and it was all because T-Tech works for a communications company and he needed to do a radio survey of the area. Of course there were a few geocaches collected along the way! This was our first stop. GPS was iffy here, and had me on the edge of the bush, but the hint showed where to be and the cache was a very quick find. TFTC, KezzBear.
We have been attending all of the GCLogan activities and events; enjoying the events and caching activities, I teamed up with Bluewattle, Grannysmith and Snickersallan as we worked our way around the areas collecting the new caches, and even some older ones. We managed to attend most events, a few citos and some meal events. It was great to see the many different faces turning up to the different events. Today we are heading to a few caches and a couple of the events. Our team was happy to grab a whereigo or a UGO as they are known down this way. I am glad we got to do these as a group, we always seem to run into issues like the phone dying or the app dies off so there is safety in numbers. We then started a few multi caches as well. Between events and cache runs we also stopped at a few to clean out an area or stopped at for a particular reason. This was one of those that we did on the way and early this morning, we signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for placing.
Teamed up with Snickersallan, Granny Smith 1947 and chamad on the hunt for the Multis Jigsaws, Wherigos and whatever took our fancy whilst out on our travels within the Logan shire. What a fantastic selection of caches and containers on offer for the GC LOGAN event. It was great to be with my usual buddies, delightful to meet up with new ones and strengthening our ties. Thanks so much to GC Logan team for arranging events and placing caches for our enjoyment.
TFTC smile20663 Out and about on a Sunny day grabing a cache to try and keep a challenge going signed as GS1947 on small logs With geofriends having a great time lots off walking and dirty shoesThank you SaintsMadTours for placing this cache for our enjoyment
When we arrived here we thought when we saw GZ it might be a bit of a search but luckily it was a quick find then a quick stop at the nearby facilities!! Thanks KezzBear.
This turned into a very full and action-packed day commencing with some tree planting to loosen us up before hitting the roads. There was no burning daylight. Just go, go, go!Collected a few multis, wherigos, letterboxes, and a couple of traditional caches.Thank you, SaintsMadTours, for placing this good hide and the hint provided, made for a quick find.
Caching around the LOGAN LGA today, we arrived at GZ and started our search. Cache found and log signed. TFTC KezzBear
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.I spent the day with geo-friends finding some caches around Logan city. TFTC This is my find #6499. These TBs visited: Norfolk Island Flag Found & logged using Cachly for iPhone & iPad
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 147 - Toowoomba to Logan via Ipswich. My day started with a late checkout, so I could do a few hours caching around Toowoomba before getting on the road. The drive down the range was fun, there are some people who seem to think faster is better. I had a short fuel and lunch break in Ipswich before doing the final part of the drive to th van park in Logan. The traffic as I come east has been a bit of a rude shock, I will have to acclimatise to busy again. After setting up and a bit of a break I decided I could do a County that needed visiting, so I headed further south to the Scenic Rim LGA for a few caches over a 3 hour drive. I caved in and bought dinner on the way home. I did my days logging in the evening and had quite a late night for me. Th GCLogan events start tomorrow. My last cache for the day was in the little rest area. I needed my torch as the evening was closing in. The container was spotted gleaming in the glow of my light and I was able to sign the log and head back to the van for dinner. Thanks for the cache KezzBear49173.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Whittlesea Event 2022 purple ear tag A#501**Albida**
Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Finished trip to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Now only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Today I was to try harder to get more kms down the road south.First I needed a specific cache to complete my next d/t round. This ended up being a trail, so took a while. My navigator then took me cross country and I ended up on a "no caravans" road with my caravan. It was a long and windy trip. This took me to Queen Mary Falls, which made it worth it.Lots of other excellent caches along the way.Nice quick find
TFTC Took the travel bugs with me for a walk and will drop them off soon somewhere
That would have to be the quickest and easiest Cache weve ever found. Great for the kids. Tftc.
We went for an impromptu road trip today. The weather was pleasant, food good and conversation even better and a great day was had by all. We also came away with seven cachesWe were happy with that.I'm sure we've found a cache in this general area before. This was an easy find as it was visible from way off.We covered cache with natural cammo. Thanks SaintsMadTours.
Thanks for this easy find! Ive just started geocaching with my 6yo daughter and this was a perfect starter!
Sunday with not much in the calendar. Combined with a desire to clear some geocaches off my to-do- list and wanting to drive my new car around some bendy roads a bunch sent me towards Tamborine and associated Mountain. Last minute list-ing before I departed had me almost miss this hide along the way. I'm a pest for geocaching by CO and this newer hide hadn't made the big list.Already many kilometres behind me and a few twists and turns enjoyed and just one tool with a bullbar up my trumpet for a few clicks, I pull into this little parking area. I've peered down to the fields below most times I've passed, but unsure I've ever stopped. Nobody around I park, enjoy the green and head for GZ.Naturally, I find a difficult way in. Yesterday featured a twenty-something kilometre hike so hoiking myself over some branches to circumnavigate that big tree elicited a few old man groans. It's just who I am today. And probably tomorrow. And likely well beyond. I'm at peace with it.Thye geocache is a quick find and then I remember the trackables in my car still. At least I found an easier way out. Geocache in the car, trackables in the geocache. Name in the logbook at 10:15. Put all back as found. And then about 7 cars arrived all at once. Well, you lot can have it, I'm outta here and up the mountain now. Thanks for this geocache, KezzBear
How life changes Caching has taken a backseat and so a free day with no plans means I can just drive and collect as many of the new-ish caches that have popped up in Logan and surroundsThanks KezzBear Find #11401
Out this morning to collect a few local government area specific caches to close out a challenge cache Ive been working on for sometime. After finding a safe place to park the car I quickly made my way to ground zero where it was too long before i had the cache in my sights.Log extracted and mark made and returned safely to its hiding spot. Now off to the next adventure. Nice hide.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found by fellow cachers.Cheers
Imbunda, hatzofff and I are on our way to an Event I Beaudesert.A quick stop off and find today.Log signed and cache replaced as found on 27th April 2024. TFTC, KezzBear. (Hope you are doing OK in Sth Aussie).
