Found 9 Nov 2024 at 2:11:02pmAfter the nearby 4000 event, I went to find some super cool caches in the area Success.Quickly worked out the numbers, but once at GZ, took way longer than it should to locate the treasure. Eventually made my way further down and there it was. Many thanks to SteMicMitSar for placing TDOC23: Parkdale to Mentone Beach Stroll for us all to find. Given I went to school not too far from here and spent a lot of time at this beach I can't believe I never noticed these plaques before! Or maybe teenage me wasn't interested in that kind of thing! Anyway a nice walk this morning along the beach stopping to collect clues as I went and counting how many plaques I had passed. I got to the end and did my calcs and was off by 1 somewhere - worked out there was only one that could.be wrong so plugged in the new number and found a likely spot.Headed to the right level and tried to work out the best access point while questioning if I was off on my numbers but sure enough found the container nicely hidden away. Thanks for the cache and the morning walk in a great spot.

Over the bay in Melbourne for a few days enjoying the multitude of caches on offer we concentrated on multis, labcaches and solved puzzles for this trip.A nice walk along the beach front with a cool way of collecting the clues. With the simple maths calculated we made our way to GZ. The great container was spotted without any problems while admiring the views. Thanks SteMicMitSar for the multi placement.

It had been too long since I'd gone for my evening geocaching run. As such, the plan was simple for this evening, to get a Traditional Geocache to finish my Traditional Calendar Challenge. But when I heard about a new Pathtag out in the wild, that soon got added to the list. Then I realised that I would be near a required DT of 2.5/2.5 for a different Challenge, and that it was also a TDOC cache. So my plans were made, and the Menton area was it.Got to this one with the sun starting to down behind the cliffs of Ricketts Point. Got to the posted coordinates and spent a number of minutes just admiring the plaque before collecting the required information. That was the go at every plaque, even the ones with no information to collect. Once I had the final, I marvelled at my forethought as it turns out I had parked within 150 meters of the final. Got to the final and enjoyed the search and the marvels of the location. Thanks for a favourite cache, Ste Mic Mit Sar. Just what I needed for today. Hunter

Thanks SteMicMitSar for the excellent multi cache along the beach here. The geodog needed a walk and we got out just before heavy rain this morning. This is one of the Cachemas caches I hadnt done and realised it would help my TD grid. Furthermore, I collected a trackable overseas to drop in a larger cache and this suited that requirement. Its just a good walk too. Lots of muggles around. A few little hiccups with the latter numbers but all sorted for GZ. I thought some muggles were right next to the cache but then realised that was not the right level.. Ah. Changed my approach and a dry clean cache was found. Business done - rain started. Time to move on. Fav from me.

Lovely stroll in between shows at the local theatre. Took a bit of a hunt to find but got there in the end. Tftc

23-Jun-24
This was my second attempt at looking for this cache. The first time, few weeks ago I did the pleasant walk along the sea wall. The plaques along the way were great stops of interest on the route. Then I took the zigzag route to walk back to the cache and carpark where The_EVIL_MUGGLE was to meet me. By that time I was pretty flustered and exhausted and I was alone. I got to within 2-3metres of GZ from two directions, but decided discretion was the better part of valour. This time I came equipped with better knowledge- I knew I was in the right vicinity, and I had younger, fitter company to support me. With their help I finally got to stamp the log! How satisfying!

Beautiful crisp winter morning, I woke early and decided on some vitamin sea. Great wander but I figured I could ignore (or just forgot to get) a few figures, and yup there it is!! Grabbed the clue for final, thanks forThe adventure.

I had a friend from Tasmania staying for the weekend and she wanted a bit of a beach walk, while I needed a non-trad to fill a gap in my calendar, and this cache seemed to meet both requirements. Weather was perfect, so we found a parking spot up top, and headed down to peruse the plaques. All numbers easily found and GZ seemed sensible, but would we go back to get it now, or forge on for a few more caches? Or course, we forged on for a few more caches which thankfully were not too tricky. On the way back to the car, having perused the logs I decided which way I was going to approach the cache and after bit of scrambling around, was very pleased to find the cache, while my friend stayed up top guarding our things. Not sure I would have attempted the scramble had I been by myself, so it all worked out very well. +1 fp for the nice stroll and challening GZ that pushed me just a little bit out of my comfort zone. TFTC!

TFTC! And enjoyed the beach walk with Benlinus to kill some time

Great team effort from solving to finding. Nicely hidden cache, well worth the time needed. Thanks for the fun.

Had a few spare hours on a Saturday so I decided to head out for some targeted caching. Being winter, finding a park was easy and I had a freezing but pleasant stroll along collecting, all the required information. I was a bit hesitant about a few of my answers but the check sums matched. Phew. I took the high road down to GZ - less exposed and less risky. I was hugely relieved to find the cache at my calculated GZ. Double phew.

29-May-24
It was a nice walk along the beach - blue skies and we were sheltered from the wind. There weren't too many muggles on the beach although there were a few walkers on the pathway. After collecting all the information required we calculated GZ and the checksums matched. Near GZ there was a little bit of a scramble and the cache was soon located after the iPhone settled. We signed the log and left a TB - Amy the Zombie. Thanks to SteMicMitSar for the stroll and the cache.

Find number 13409 at 1:46:42PM on Monday the 27 May 2024What a beautiful day to go out and enjoy so here I am out geocaching; how good does it get. Set a plan and created a list of 2023 Vic Awards nominee caches and a few TDOC23 caches that I still haven't found. Found all on the list which included some bush, some park, and some beach walking and way too much driving but there you go!Loved the wander down the beach, something I very rarely do, not being a beach person, today it was like a breath of fresh air!Nice plaques Wink**Thanks for placing this cache SteMicMitSar**---*WOW, so much happening here in Victoria*Log your will attend for [**Cachemas In July**](https://coord.info/GCAPPGD) and get your [tickets here]( https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1228458?) for the event in Kensington on 27 July 2024.Log your will attend for [**SideTracked Day 2024**](https://coord.info/GCAPPGF) on 10 August 2024 at the Miniature Railway Park in Eltham. The Great Victorian Cache Crawl is coming on 17-18 August 2024, this year starting near Melbourne heading up around Echuca and back over the weekend. It was a really nice walk along the water at sunset! The cache location was a bit off for me, but I worked it out!

16-Jan-24
One member of the team had already made the find here so all the work was already done. I wasn't far away so took a stroll to GZ. I just didn't have to keep track and do the hard yards. Didn't take long and I was at GZ. Thanks for placing this cache for all to find.

04-Jan-24
We tried for this one back in October and we came up with nada. After a change of formula and adjusted GZ we were back today to have another go. We wandered the path straight back to our previous GZ without thinkingthen remembered there had been an adjustment to the formula and actually looked at where our devices were sending us. Take 2.another entry point was located and we made our way to GZ. The Chief told me to wait as he continued since I am still recovering from a Christmas lurgy & my balance is dodgy. So I parked myself at the top of the slope & enjoyed the view while he did the finding & signing of the log. Thanks SteMicMitSar for the cache

27 December 2023 1:31pmDay 11Currently working on my streak for the ump-teenth time but now with the challenge of beating brain to a year streak as he leaves for University shortly. Having finished work up in the city and complete ting some odds and ends at the office I selected this multi to be my find for the day. Easily finding a park near WP1, the 1st mural was discovered and I was quickly on my way. Passing mural after mural and quickly grabbing the clues I found this walk rather enjoyable..... but I couldn't help thinking that if I am not quick I might get a little burnt. Collecting the final bit of information GZ was quickly solved. Arriving at GZ I think I attempted it from the wrong angle several times before realising my mistake. Ah well, quickly after that the cache was found and another smile was added to the list. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.

23-Dec-23
A great cache evoking a lot of memories for me because I grew up in this beach at Parkdale Life Saving club. The clue at plaque 11 was unclear - I couldnt figure it out. But the checksum came in handy here. Coordinates pretty much spot onI AM GUR THE SKITZ CACHER

16-Dec-23
What a hide! Wonderful walk. It was really challenging to find it - took us a while. Persistence worked out. Thanks! Happy I didn't give up!

06-Dec-23
My sums checked out but couldn't find anything

02-Dec-23
Well that was an excellent Multicache. From gathering the required information along a deserted beach to finally locating the cache where no muggle ever will stumble upon it.Thank you SteMicMitSar.If only I could award more than one Favorite Point. The added bonus of 91 unloved days.>Highly recommended!

21-Oct-23
The cache has now been replaced in a new location way from where it was.Formula has been adjusted to suit the new location.

07-Oct-23
This one has goneIt seems a bit more open at GZ than what it was like when the cache was placed, there also seems to be a bit of muggles activity very close by.Will replace soon in a slightly different location.

05-Oct-23
We didn't TDOC23: Parkdale to Mentone Beach Stroll on our afternoon stroll. We enjoyed the warm, collecting the information as we went and headed to GZ, from the right direction.Once at GZ our troubles began, searching in and out, high and low, without any (Christmas) joy.Our checksum was correct, however we reached out to the FTF, who confirmed our coordinates were correct and gave us an almighty shove of a hint. Returning to the search, we looked for another 30 minutes before calling it a dayThanks SteMicMitSar for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy the walk and the view!!

Find # 8,279 for me on 2 Sept 2023 at 2:05 pm.

I have been stuck at home with a sore and swollen knee for a while. Yesterday we ventured out to Point Nepean, where I did some cache maintenance. So I thought I might extend it a bit further today with a nice walk along the foreshore here.
Things went pretty well until the maths.
I'm not sure if it's just me or what, but I always see ambiguity in these multis. Eventually, I resolved my problem and started looking for the cache.
At GZ, my knee proved to be a bit of an issue, but I eventually got to where I had to be and retrieved the nice, clean cache.
I even remembered to photograph the hint for the other cache.
It was a beautiful day for a walk along here, and I loved finding the plaques, although I think I missed one of the unused ones. Nice one, Steve. Here's a favourite point.

Thanks SteMicMitSar, for giving back to the game.

Out for a day trip to the Peninsula with Chook from ChooknChunk. She had a few caches that she wanted to target which made for an easy, nice day caching.
It was heading towards sunset a little faster than we hoped for so it was the perfect time to take a stroll along the beach and collect what was needed. There weren't as many muggles as we thought there might be and there were none anywhere near GZ. The cache was a nice quick find. Once the log was signed, the cache was replaced and we were on our way. Thanks for this lovely stroll, bringing these plaques to our attention and placing the cache.

27-Aug-23
Chook travelled down from Beaufort to Melbourne for the weekend, with the aim of caching with her son LazyAde and finding a few more Cache of the Year nominees and TDOC23 caches along the way. Today she jumped in the car with Geoturtle37 and we made our way down to the Peninsula. We did this multi cache at the end of the day, just before sunset. It was a beautiful evening to be strolling along the beach and we enjoyed the plaques that the cache was showing us. Numbers gathered, the checksums worked and not long later Geoturtle found the cache with no dramas or muggle issues. Thank you SteMicMitSar for this lovely multi.

I really enjoyed the stroll.
A very popular spot here today.

**Merry Cachemas Everyone!**

With the [Geocaching Victoria](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5381f41f-c082-4a07-a4e5-9610ef6949fe&wid=f816e765-2d9c-4d6b-8310-0e6d8f80fa3f&ds=2) [Cachemas in July Lunch (GCA7WT4)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA7WT4_cachemas-in-july-lunch) event long gone, I still had lots of Cachemas caches to find.

Well my goal for 2023 has been to try and get close to qualifying for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=54e007c1-391b-4f69-b6f2-af7b91887d92&ds=2) [The Non-Traditional Calendar Challenge (GC7RCQ3)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC7RCQ3).

So with needing to find a non-traditional cache today, I decided to see what remaining Cachemas multi caches I still had unfound. Well with this one being the closest unfound multi Cachemas cache, I decided to make it the target for the day.

With not wanting to pay the parking fee I ended up parking a few blocks away and then walking down to the posted coordinates at the beach. What a stunning afternoon it was!

It would have been almost a crime to not get out and enjoy some of the beautiful sunlight today, so a walk along the beach was magical. It was a lovely little walk and although it was so beautiful there wasn't too many muggles out and about.

I was able to obtain all of the information for the various plaques quite easily, except for Letters J and K. I still am not confident on what those numbers are. However, with the aid of the checksums, I was able to work out the likely coordinates even without the correct number for letter J and K. So with coordinates for GZ that made sense and the check sum agreed, I made my way over to GZ.

It was again an amazing walk over to GZ and my phone actually was working today, so it homed in on the logical beacon right away and after a quick search the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.

A big thanks goes to [SteMicMitSar](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=abc4dc0b-c55c-4a25-9594-ed3901955af2&wid=727c06f6-8838-4fc1-bd6e-7f9761593c1e&ds=2) for the beautiful walk and the fun cache. TFTC.

**Cache Maintenance Status**

The cache container was in good shape, everything was legible, and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

toriakyogle and I had only been in town for 6 hours when we were lucky enough to meet McLookers at an event. The next day we were off on an adventure with McLookers, Sol de lune, Muzza and micaparamedic, learning, laughing and locating.

We signed the log as team STN3M.

What a great stroll!

Thanks SreMicMitSar this was a beautiful location for this first-timer to these parts.

On a caching adventure today with McLookers (Ballarat), toriakyogle (Coffs Harbour), NannaRuby (Brisbane) Muzza (Melbourne) micaparamedic (Bendigo) and I'm Ballarat these days. Logs were signed STN3M.

A great location for a cache and enjoyed standing around taking it all in.

Thanks for this TDOC SteMicMitSar....

22-Aug-23
Out today in a group of six cachers. All logs signed as STN3M for Sol de Lune, Toriakyogle, NanaRuby, McLookers, Micaparamedic and Muzza. All caches found in good order. After doing the walk and collecting the answers, I realised that one of the checksums didn't balance. A reread of one question and all was good. Today I was with the others and it was a quick find.

My thanks for the cache, SteMicMitSar.

22-Aug-23
Enjoyed the stroll and made the calculations. Thanks for bringing us here today.

After a very slow morning, we headed out to grab a couple of caches and some dinner.

It was perfect weather for stroll along the beach as we gathered all of the information required for this one. Once in hand, it wasn’t long before we had the final coordinates and set off to make the find.

Merry Cachemas!

Thanks SteMicMitSar for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

A nice meander to find this one, glad I did not slip on my to GZ.

Thanks SteMicMitSar for the cache.

One would have thought Spring had arrived today. This is one of the caches I found on this glorious day. I took a stroll , meticulously counted, and with calculations done and double-checked . I strolled to GZ to find this cache.

06-Aug-23
Muggle Husband was off to a model train show and I could not be less interested if I tried. I had a free day. What to do? Go caching of course! This multi was the first for the day and it was an absolute delight to do. Everything came together perfectly and I did not have to backtrack once, The plaques are lovely to look at and it was nice to be out and about on a brisk Sunday morning, along with a million dogs and their owners. The checksums really helped and at GZ the well camoed cache was found quickly and easily after a short search.

02-Aug-23
It was an absolutely perfect day today to stroll along the beach collecting the info along the way. The water was beautifully calm and the sun was shining, and although some of it was in shade it was warm enough to be without a jacket today! We collected the info, calculated GZ and made our way there passing people spraying for weeds. We hoped they wouldn’t catch up to us whilst we were searching, but all was good and the cache was easily located, signed and returned before they got there.
TFTC SteMicMitSar, a lovely location, using very cool signs! A fave from us!!!

31-Jul-23
It was a bit blowy but not too cold and not too bad to have a stroll along this section of beach.
We were making good progress until things got a bit 'iffy' around H mark.
Fortunately, with the aid of the checksum, everything worked out in the end and we found the cache in great condition and with a great view.
Thanks SteMicMitSar for providing some entertainment for us today with this cache.
Chiefton!!!

**Find 1502, 3:10pm**

This lovely stroll along the Parkdale/Mentone foreshore was just what I needed after a bumpy day at work. I set off on my own to gather the required answers and was soon in possession of the numbers. Thank goodness for a check sum though! I hadn't read the "boat" bit so my numbers came up short.

After fixing my error I made my way to GZ, where a well-hidden and good-sized cache was soon located.

Thanks SteMicMitSar for making my seaside stroll all the more enjoyable by placing this cache! FP awarded for bringing my attention to the interesting plaques along the way, great use of a multi.

Santa Claus is coming to town!
Tomorrow is the cachemas lunch and it was high time that I found some more TDOC caches.

After having dinner near the Mentone Meander cache, spiffy- and I arrived at 8.06pm - perfect timing for free parking! Hey StecMicMitSar - as we found your cache, do we qualify for one of those highly sought after free local parking stickers? Wink

Surprisingly there were quite a few muggles enjoying an evening stroll, even some in waders in the water! It was nice to look at each of the bronze plaques and we were careful with the sneaky gap to keep shining our torches and focus on our count. We were a little confused with the last two as weren't sure exactly which items to include in the tally and had to juggle the numbers a little to obtain correct coordinates.

I'm glad spiffy- noticed a different approach to GZ as my suggested approach, had a much higher Terrain effort. The cache was soon located and signed.

Thanks for the evening stroll.

After a surprise FTF a little before dusk I joined up with Kistysadventures for a couple of TDOC23 caches and it was a perfect night with no wind at all so it wasn't cold.
After a nice walk along the beach in the dark, we soon had our clues gathered except for the last 2 which had a few options so we guessed what number that should be and it looked right so we headed off and after a short search the cache was soon found and a clue gathered for the final TDOC cache.
Thanks SteMicMitSar for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

**Find #5396**
**Multi Find #450**

My caching mojo well and truly left me today. I found two caches on my own, needed help with two others and DNF'd on the last one I attempted. That is a very unimpressive strike rate. I wasn't prepared for the distance I'd have to cover for this cache. Lots of walkers and dog walkers out today. I got one number wrong according to the Checksum but fortunately I had photographed each plaque. At GZ I spent a good five minutes looking around before the hint made sense. I should have had a third coffee this morning. A quick find once I was on the correct level. A favourite point from me.

**Thank-you to SteMicMitSar for placing this geocache**

STF…. @1230hrs.
10 mins behind OSHFAM it appears on the log….! Damn…!
And then “what are you doing?” booms out of the bushes…
Hmmm I’ll be kind…
“Why it’s great to see you there OSHFAM..! So kind of you drop in and say hi”.
Anyways, this was a fun wander and I didn’t think I had been spotted, but clearly had.
A well planned out multi that takes you on a nice journey.
A bit of a challenge to find it at the end, but coords look pretty good and I was happy that mine matched GZ.
Thanks for the fun SteMicMitSar, a great wander.
Fave added.

And I love a regular size.

{FTF} 1220 hrs

I have been having a very difficult week and was on my way to drop off my daughter to school as she started late today. On the way back home I saw this one was still showing unfound and even though I should have gone home, I decided to take time out for myself, catch some fresh air and the beautiful sunshine along the beach.

I read the cache page and started the longish walk. So far so good. But then trouble struck. I failed to pay attention to a detail for one of the stops. So back I jog backtracking. Luckily I hadn't got too far before noticing my mistake. With the info gathered, on I went. 3/4 of the way along trouble struck again. I was confused (this is normal for me ). I took the time to sit for a moment and scratch my head to work out what I am missing. The the "Aha" moment and I was back on track.

Now I happened to look back and in the far distance I saw a figure that I thought looked familiar but I was too far to confirm. Better get a move on I thought. So I started running. I managed to get to a spot where I wasn't seen and could work out the numbers and came up with a plausible GZ. Off I went.

At GZ I followed the hint but overshot the mark by "a little" before making the find. Bugger, no pen!!!! Well I had to think fast. There was no chance going back to the car as that was too far away. Next best thing was to ask a passer by. A lady pushing a pram happened to walk past at the right time and whilst she didn't have a pen, she had a sharpie. So hence why I signed in thick black texta first in the log.

Now I could have gone home now but I couldn't resist the fun of hiding and seeing if the next finder hot on my heels was who I thought it was. I didn't have to wait long before I jumped out to the surprise of none other than my mate CeeJayDenno . We had a good chit chat before parting ways.

I really enjoyed this multi and never noticed these plaques before even though I have lived in Parkdale for 20 years. It was a bonus that the weather was amazing.

Thank you for the multi and cache here SteMicMitSar I give it a fav point and good to see you hiding again as it's been years!
