Cute cache near by our Airbnb. Last cache before we went to gold coast tmr. See you after two days Sydney! TFTC
Back in Sydney for work and a hotel booking closer to Ultimo had me within reach of unfound traditional caches like this one - quick find. tftc
I was in this area yesterday but didn't check the app.So it came out today to grab it before I went home. Quick easy find.
Tried to do this one a while ago but work was going on at the lifts down. Tried again today and success.
A fast find while on a walk through the area. Just deciding if I should buy a pastry from the nearby shop. I likely will. TFTH
Found at 12:12Out this morning for a quick walk and a quick cache. There were a few muggles about but none were too close so we were able to quickly retrieve, sign and replace the container. Thanks ailemayyy for the cache
Looking too high at first but still a quick find. Concerned this cache may get muggle though.
Went to the new Parkrun at Pyrmont this morning and had some time to spare before and after to pick up a few caches. TFTC Wilbert67
2 days on Sydney and I'm not allowed to let caching dictate things so after a few sneaky Ad Labs I was pleased to be able to quickly grab this for our first 'proper' cache in NSWI struggled to retrieve so geokid2 had to step in and made easy work of lifting it out.Nice spot and convenient for our hotel. Thanks for hiding and greetings from UK.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Lovely area.
Reperio 13:54Day 2 of our 5 day visit to Sydney for a nursing conference, and my muggle friend and I took some time away from proceedings to explore the city and find some caches. With my friend being a bit taller, he did the retrieval duties on this one.Gratias ailemayyyAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Thx, only one I found today =( but I will return to find the other close ones >=]
We were in the area after participating in a pancreatic cancer research fundraising walk around the other end of Pyrmont. Came here afterwards and really enjoyed the walk through the neighbourhood. A cold drizzly day so muggles were not a problem. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
We were here, no pen sorry, but fine place to stay and go to a 'Flaming Wrekage' album launch.
Down in Sydney for a very quick trip and this cache was less than 50m from where we were staying. Headed out and made a quick find before getting coffee nearby.Tftc ailemayyyFind #6047
OCW me, myself and I, on this beautiful Anzac Day. Find #314 @12.25pm. SLRC as found. TFTC
We took a seat on the nearby wall to stake out GZ because some people were sitting nearby. There is was, taunting us from its home. We had to use a bit more stealth to make the grab as inconspicuously as possible while reading the sign. Then it was signed and replaced. TFTC!
Sydney trip for Egyptian Exhibition Day 3. Having visited the fantastic Egyptian exhibition yesterday, I was heading home today. I had most of the day to wander around town before heading off in the afternoon back to Canberra. My walk today took me over the bridge into Darling Harbour and up the hill beyond to Ultimo. There was a bit of a loop around the back end of Darling Harbor before finding lunch at a tiny cafe in a back street. I then headed to the east of the station for a few caches before finding a place to sit and rest my feet till it was time to get on the train. A long few days, but it has been fun.As I clambered back up the hill, I took the time to read some of the signs at the park and was amazed to understand some of the history of the area. Things have really changed over time here. Thanks for the cache ailemayyy46276.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Geocaching HQ Founders 20 Year Celebration A#505**Albida**
After staying the night at the Novotel (Bear had a work function), I was able to get up early and find a few more caches around the City before heading into work. A good sized walk turned up a number of finds.Cheers
Today we arrived in Sydney. We (Team Downunder24) discovered the city by looking for some caches. We could see many nice places and beautiful buildings. We enjoyed our stay. ?? "Parks of Ultimo - Quarry Green" was one of the caches we could find. Thanks ailemayyy for showing that place??
Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we visited the areas around Sydney.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.
Together with 37 Cachers, we start a journey to Australia and New Zealand via Doha.In Qatar we spent one night and had almost one full day before heading to Sydney. In Australia we visit the citys of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Cairns. Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

On my journey through Australia I passed many beautiful places. It is very impressive. Thank you very much. Greetings from Germany, muschel3
Quarry Green is another small green space tucked away in the inner-city suburb of Ultimo.Information about the area's history from the City of Sydney:In the late 19th century, sandstone quarrying in Pyrmont and Ultimo declined as the quarries were worked out and brick replaced stone in building workingmen's houses. Other industries moved into the area, including flour mills, factories and wool stores. Wool was Australia's prime export. In 1932 the Country Producers Selling Company built two large warehouses on the corner of Quarry Street and Bulwara Road. By World War II, 20 wool stores on the peninsula employed over 1,000 men, most of them in Ultimo. Many of these wool stores were constructed with timber beams, and being soaked in wool grease, they became highly flammable. Spectacular fires were common in Ultimo, and many burned for days. In the early horus of the morning on 19 March 1978 a fire destroyed the old Country Producers warehouses. It was Sydney's biggest fire in 20 years, but nobody died. After the fire, Quarry Street was partly closed, widened and landscaped to form Quarry Green. The park first opened in May 1983.Be careful when retrieving the cache, as muggles are often nearby. There are two cafes across the road from GZ - there may be less people around after 3pm, when the cafes are closed for the day. Please also replace the cache securely to make sure it doesn't leave its spot.
