Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Kingston for a few days to grab some finds. A chilly day but at least the sun is out. Ammo can had seen better days but inner container is good. Terrain should be upped due to brand new barbed fence to navigate. Great to find an oldie. Thanks for the hide Astro. LNCU
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying in Kingston SE for a couple of days, checking out the sights and the caches of course. TFTP&C TeamAstro. LNCU
Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in last night packed the car and headed off to SA this morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border yesterday and staying at Millicent last night its now time for more LGAs and head to Wellington for my next stop. Its LGA time as I make my way up north.I was following the coast and after finding the right sign and getting a hint from the CO about my bad maths I worked out the right way into here.I took the wrong way in at first as I realised the Geowagon might be 4WD but with no clearance.Took the next way in and way better roads got me to GZ.The poor old ammo can has seen better days and is no longer in one piece but the inner container is still ok.A lovely drive through here and I might as well stick to the back roads for now.A bit of unloved as well.A fav goes out to you for the adventure. Thanks TeamAstro TFTMC.
Found out caching with Wollaston. Downloaded the instructions and found a cache! No camera so not able to complete that component, did snap a digital pic of the lake as it recovers from the fire.
Container condition good, outer case has been through a rough time
Log condition lots of room
Thanks to CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

No camera today. Assuming it went long ago or perished in the fire. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC TeamAstro

Out on a beautiful Spring Day for a Daughter / Father’s bonding day for a scenic drive with a chance of Geocaching Failure Success.
Many thanks for the maintenance of the caches to make an enjoyable day out.
Nearly gave up on this one, but a wider search ensured we found a unique cache container.

Today we drove back North to the airport to get our flight home and just had to grab the last few caches on the way, pulling in mainly old caches on our travels. Thanks for having us SA, till next time.
Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.
This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.
Thanks for the cache.

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Having already 'seen the sign' we knew where we had to go! It was a bit of a drive but worth it to get to this oldie. We were concerned when we saw the area had been burnt but we found the cache ok and what looked like a newish container inside.
Thanks TeamAstro (good to meet you yesterday)
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

The Welder and I, together with our minis are over from Melbourne on a road tripping holiday. We are collecting key dates for our Ausmer as we go. Needless to say, this was in our sights. I just wish we realised we didn’t have to go to the start of multi before we drove ages to discover no signs! Oh well, we figured out where we needed to go and headed to gz.
It was a cool venture out there, particularly at this late hour as we could enjoy the waking hours of the animal kingdom... wombats, deer, kangaroos, wallabies, rabbits. Once at gz, we scouted around to see if we could avoid going over the fence, but alas no... so stealth mode was required. Sad to see area so burnt, but cool that this cache is still in play. Thanks for maintaining this cache.

Whew, this one has been a long time in the making. I'd come across the solar system series around a decade ago and noted roughly where they all are. I came by the listed coords this time last year to get the signs info, only to find the sign had gone and I didn't have phone reception to work out what I needed to do. Fast forward to this year and Jess and I were driving down to Millicent when we noticed it on the map. I reached out to the CO to understand what we needed to do and the calculations were completed in short order after that. With a confirmed set of coords, we made a detour to claim the smiley.
The area around the cache was burned and the cache has seen better days. The ammo tin looks a bit blasted open on one side but someone has put a small plastic container inside with the log book so that's actually in good nick. We signed the log and moved on, with another planet ticked off.
Found with jambochicken and foxywoxymoxie the geodog, TFTC

Found with bektheraccoon on our way to Millicent. Hot day today but knowing that Jupiter was on our way, we knew we had to go. Solving on the fly and verification from the CO, cache was soon in hand. Ammo tin and original contents have been singed but a replacement container from a previous finder was inside. TFTC
Went for a drive with Jack and Purrfect Di. Found some caches!
thanks for the smiley TeamAstro , yours was one of them!
Always nice to find an Astro planetary probe cache.
This one seems to have burned up on re-entry
What was described in a September log as a "pretty walk" to GZ was unfortunately a burnt barren landscape,
and the cache had met its match.
Because Astro artifacts are worth preserving - a new log book in a plastic container was added to the ashes of the old log book inside the now rusty ammo can. Hope this helps.
An ammo can. I'll give it a fav for not being a mint tin.
The fence that needed hopping is also nice and new, so someone may be cleaning up around here soon
May need some owner TLC eventually.
Happy 6th day of Christmas! Avoid germs - avoid people - cache the countryside!!!
All logs stamped by team Mattycat this week include JacktheMonkey and Purrfect Di.
I started this multi in 2018 and finally today I was able to get out to GZ with about 300 sheep in the middle of the road I slowly made my way through the middle of them on my way. Arrived at GZ and made The short walk. Love an ammo can and an oldie
Today I headed from Adelaide to the south east and made a few detours along the way for the long weekend, 36 finds plus a new set of adventure labs found.
Thanks for the cache

FeatherWaite and I thought we might chance our luck with the winter weather and head down to the south east for a few days of camping and caching. While the caching worked out well, the weather deteriorated quite a bit and we ended up having to abandon the camping idea after the first night and find ourselves a cabin for the next two. However, it did allow us to save some time and find a few more caches that we might otherwise have not got to in the time available.
After making our way down the Coorong, visiting a selection of targeted Traditionals, Multis and Earthcaches, we rolled out the swags on the first night under a beautifully clear (but cold) night sky near the coast south of Robe.
The following day we cached our way to and around Millicent until well after dark, picking up over 100 Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual and Earthcaches, including the GV2020 geoart series, before settling into a cabin for the evening.
Another day caching around Millicent on the Friday allowed us to find another 85 or so targeted caches before the rain arrived in earnest and we were glad of the cabin accommodation again that night.
We made our way back home to Adelaide the following day via Penola and Naracoorte, again picking up a nice variety of caches along the way.
Overall it was a great trip, with over 200 Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Letterbox , Virtual and Earthcaches found along the way, many with quite high difficulty and/or terrain ratings. Most of the caches were in good condition, unless otherwise specifically noted. Favourite points have been allocated to those that I particularly enjoyed or found very clever along the way.
It was nice to be able to find another of this solar system series!
Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches and the various puzzles. I am looking forward to my next visit to the region, possibly later in the year for the rescheduled Mega event at Millicent in October.

One of the planet series which we had to grab on the way down to the south east
Found on a family history trip to the Victorian goldfields.
It has now got to the stage where we have over 750 draft logs waiting to be completed. These range back over at least a couple of years.
We are not a fan of generic logs but with everything that has been on our plates recently we reluctantly have to admit this may be the only way we can get this back log cleared. If your cache is in our backlog it usually means it is one that we wanted to spend more time creating a much more bespoke log than this. But we are not managing to achieve that goal. So in the interests of getting the backlog cleared we have decided to resort to this long form of TFTC as a way of getting a large number of them cleared.
We apologise for the lack of commentary specific to your cache or event. We are somewhat targeted in what we go after. There are unfounded caches within a few kilometres of our home which we published before we started 8 years ago. We have just never got around to o looking for them. We like unusual cache types, puzzles in particular, older caches, and tend to target a much more wider group of caches when we travel. We like remote caches and caches that bring us to an interesting place. It is likely that this cache found its way into our find list because it fits one of these criteria.
As cache owners we appreciate the effort that goes into hiding and maintains caches so thank you for that.

After missing this one due to time resistants on the last couple of trips it was one of the target caches of the day. Gz was greener than i expected. Sighted the first of the 4 snakes i saw today on route to gz.
Back down to Mount Gambier with Mogni. She wanted to do mainteneance on some of her caches. We took the inland road down there and stopped at every cache i hadn't found and cleaned up some of the newly published caches for her. We even got a unexpected joint ftf on the way.

LiB and I were on our way home from a weekend in the South East...
I have travelled this road on many occasions but never had time to stop here...
Today we still had a lot of daytime left so headed inland...
WOW!!! what a lovely area...all the water and wildlife amongst the dry land...
There were swans, ducks and mallee fowl at the water...
Crossing the road were rabbits, foxes, deer, sheep and cattle...
I think the fences are not them in...would have to be really careful travelling here at night...
The are at GZ was very pretty...
Followed a roo track and found the cache quickly...all good...
Thanks for placing this cache in a location I would never have known about except for caching...
Love it...TFTC TeamAstro

Found on my way back home after a long weekend geocaching around Mt Gambier. Have had this cache on my radar for years now, and been past a few other times in my travels but never had the time for the detour. Glad I made it a priority this time though! Thanks for the cache TeamAstro!

I resolved the final coordinates to this cache many many years ago and today took an opportunity to visit GZ. I arrived just after the sun had set and managed to stand on my spectacles after having them flick if my head while passing under a low branch. At GZ a short search by torchlight revealed the cache which is in excellent condition and I continued on my journey home coming across a deer, goats, a koala, unfenced cattle and numerous roos before I got back to the tarmac.
Thanks TeamAstro

This was the target cache for the day. Had looked at this one a few years ago and got nowhere but the information provided now seemed to be more conducive to getting some numbers.
Made the detour on the way home from Robe wasn’t confident as we seemed to be walking around in circles. Was starting to think I’d messed up the numbers Crikey how did we nearly miss an ammo can?!
TFTC Astro we enjoyed the drive out to get this one interesting scenery, crap farming country.

Had a day of Mount Gambier sinkhole scuba diving and driving back home to Adelaide via Millicent and TeamAstro's Jupiter geocache.
So this was quite the adventure indeed! I first came past the posted coordinates two months ago, only to discover that there was nothing more to find here. Argh bugger, another TeamAstro cache where it paid to research beforehand. Anyway once back at home, I soon worked out the real GZ.
Driving home and it was getting dark. I was still in two minds of venturing for this cache today, but I still thought I had enough light to make it in and back to the Coorong road. Lucky I had taken the right turnoff. The cache was at very accurate coordinates, and logbook signed. I decided to continue on and ended up joining the highway back to Tintinara.
I do think the D/T rating of this one was a little undervalued. Perhaps the 2.5/3 was scored in the older days when it was out of three? It certainly was in the middle of nowhere, and I can unequivocally say that I would never have passed through here had it not been for geocaching. This geocache is also more of a traditional than a multi-cache. I can understand due to historical reasons for not wanting to change, but certainly nothing to find at posted coordinates anymore. Thanks TeamAstro for the adventure today..

This is one of those caches that has annoyed the M & M's for many a year as we drove up and down to Mogni - land and were unprepared for the journey to Jupiter.
Today, the preparations were done, the geopooch, Chloe was with us and mogni and Mary tackled the Planet. Didn't expect all the lakes though. TFTC Astro.

Being as I am not going to be travelling this road as much as previously, today was the day to go and grab this one. I had no idea there was so much water on Jupiter, A beautiful location. Found with Aussie Mary and Chloe the geodog.
Thanks to TeamAstro from mogni

When I went to school the planets looked aligned (in a straight line) and Pluto was not a vertically challenged planet. So why do I seem to be orbiting 'Earth' in an ever increasing circle. It would be much easier to drive in a straight line collecting them on my way. Had a fun day driving to Jupiter. I can't have many more planets left to find. Retrieved TB. TFTC TeamAstro and thanks for the journey through the Solar System.
Our oldest cache find of the day .
Collected the final co-ords for this one on our way back from Mt Gambier in 2012 and almost thought we'd miss coming here today as we made our way up from Jip Jip CP . The road we intended to take was closed , so had to travel all the way back to the Kingston road before heading back east again .
What a great sight as we approached GZ - who would think there could be this much water on Jupiter [^]. Things were obviously different in 2002, so accessability is a little more dodgy these days [B)].
Quickly spotted by Mrs DISK. TNLNSL.
Thanks for bringing us here TeamAstro.
Our last for the day as the temperature tried to push its way to boiling point [:(!].

I have looked at the cache several times but only when we have been down near Salt Creek (one of our favourite places to camp) and unable to get the image. This year, I was a bit more organised!
I checked my co-ords with the CO prior to leaving - oops a small typo in my message- but glad to have the right numbers before we leave.
We camped under the stars - I couldnt name any of them, but appreciated their beauty - and spent xmas day doing absolutely nothing - perfect!
Today was our first caching day and this was the first one on the list. We got to GZ and it was very hot so we were hoping for a quick find. Why do these things never go to plan.
A previous log said there was no need to go over the fence, however, my co-ords definitely said otherwise. Had they moved the fence? Dont tell me the co-ords were wrong - I checked them!
Geez its hot - lets jump the fence and look for GZ anyway. We looked around for much longer than it should have - admittedly I was trying to keep to the shade!
Finally there it was - not even hiding from us. I blame the heat!
We signed the log - dropped a TB and jumped back over the fence.
There was quite a bit of water in the drain leading out to the lake or is it Tilley Swamp? We saw two large turtles come up for a look.
I was nearly tempted to join them in the water.
Thanks for the cache TeamAstro

A quick visit to Naracoorte. Might as well take a roundabout way home and pick up a cache or two.
Wow this is going to be an easy multi, can get all the information from the first way-point from the comfort of your computer chair.
Tick. Now just have to go and grab it when passing sometime.
Mmmm. Someone forgot to tell me that Jupiter is a long, long way from anywhere.
Luckily my spacecraft was up to the task. I had diverted from the short way home to attempt this cache and nothing was going to stop me.
Not cruising past the turn off near Mars and having to backtrack a light year or two when I realised my mistake.
Not having to cruise a further 14 light years from the galactic super highway along a bumpy route littered with asteroids. [:p]
Finally I set my spacecraft down in a decidedly alien landscape.
Not having to take a torch as Jupiter's sun was setting and Jupiter's moon was already in the sky.
Not having to cross a fence that made me doubt that my maths skills were up to the task of way point 1 calculations. [^]
A short search and I found the old beaten can that had been bypassed for the past 28 months. Upon opening it was as good as new. [^]
Poor unloved cache. A new starfish stamp and a FP from me.
This is what it is all about. Getting an adventure for just one more smiley. [:o)]

The sign no longer exists, the camp no longer exists, the cache can no longer be completed!
Today we decided to head to the Coorong for a look around the area and collect a few caches while there.
We have had the co-ords worked out for this cache for quite some time now. Just to feel as if we had completed the cache as it was intended when it was place we drove to the first waypoint and had a gander at what was there, obviously no sign.
Then onto GZ, amazing what you find in the middle of no-where. We needed to negotiate our way around a grader working on the road to GZ. No support crew for this fellow, no stop/go people etc, you would never find that happening in a more populated area, work place safety you know.
There was a fence that we needed to find our way through, normally we would not cross onto what appeared to be private property but after a quick chat with ourselves decided that the cache would not be where it is without permission of the property owner. Maybe a local farmer got local permission to fence public land for grazing purposes, we have seen this happen in north Queensland near Atherton. Anyway, that is what we told ourselves to justify going into fenced land.
All in all a beautiful area to visit.
We collected a TB from the cache that is not listed as being here but is supposed to be in "Saturn", maybe Blinky the koala wanted to see more of our beautiful country.
Thanks for the fun T 1 x TB L N TFTC. The cache is in excellent condition.

damn, i had the pdf file, but i didn't see the photos of the now missing sign. i've just seen that now. so i was puzzled standing there and not seeing a sign...
Free camping in Kingston, today we set off to see how many caches we could find in the Coorong that we missed a few weeks ago.
Beautiful weather not to hot not too cold, although apparently a storm forecast to arrive tomorrow. [xx(]
Great day to be out in the Geo Cruiser, so many great spots that were within our reach.
Geez we didn't do any homework to attempt this cache it was just on our 'list' for caching today in the area. About 4 caches away we realised our mistake and then stopped numerous times on highpoints trying to get internet coverage to see if we could nut this out.
Once we realised that a picture paints a thousand words we were on a semi 'run' make that a 'jog' to getting the details then came the maths... Hmm maths wasnt a strong point back 'then' it surely isnt now.... Oh how the head hurt....
Finally after much frustration we had some workable sums but nowhere near where we wanted them to be...... ESP must be especially great in this area as the CO messaged us about something completely different so some to- ing and fro-ing and we knew we were on the right track. Still not keen to add 45+km to our round trip today without being CERTAIN when again all the other caches on our list were completed and we were heading home and the CO confirmed we had indeed succeeded! Wow talk about timing we were indeed about to drive right past the turnoff. EEEEkkkk Hang a lefty,,,,, and off we went on dusk o'clock (thank goodness for daylight saving) Cache was found in good order but did certainly appear to be on private property[?]
Last cache for the day so home for fish n chips... woo hoo.

I feel like the space cache maintenance man. My first find of the series Pluto, I replaced the cache in the Simpson Desert. Uranaus I found both the replacement container and the original container, so I’ve been to Uranus twice. Now when I finally get around to finishing my epic voyage Jupiter has gone behind the moon and can’t be seen. On a caching trip to have SECS in Mt Gambier we called past to see if Im suffering from space blindness. No cache blindness 5of us couldn't find it so we replaced it.
This series takes you to some remote spots, and I don't know what it says about me that my first 2 finds for the series were the most remote and furtherest from home.
Continue having clear skies and I'm waiting for my dinner for being the 3rd to finish the series.
A 3 day caching expedition with Freddo, Astro, WhiteDogGang an Four Fun.
Apologies for the generic log but we did a few trails and some of the Mountopoly series. We also did most of the BLE series.
The mozzies were full on at times and it rained most of the first day.
Rumor has it that a 3rd person found Jupiter today ....... and that completed their Solar System Series. Another dinner from Astro. Bronze - after 11 years. Well done. Clear skies.
As we were driving up the Princes Highway today, we were in two minds as to head off and have a look at this cache, or keep going straight on and log a few more on our to-do list. We eventually headed inland, and arrived some 40 odd metres away from GZ. The fence accross our path didn't exactly look very encouraging, but since we'd come all this way, we may as well have a look.
We made our way to within 5 metres of GZ, when we heard a car come along the road, heading South. Sure enough, it stopped just past our parked car, and the drivers door opened. We have had several encounters with landowners catching us either on or too close to their property for their liking, so we immediately tried to decide how we were going to deal with the encounter. Strangely enough though, the driver closed his door after a minute or so and drove off, probably not even seeing us just over the fence. That was enough for us though, and we bee-lined it back to the car and got out of there. We did see a few rural watch signs on the way here, so our rego could well have been reported.
I thought we may have messed up the maths for this and ended up at the wrong spot, but the location fits with four-funs photo of the area and I did see the rope mentioned in two previous logs. I've emailed the CO with our coordinates, and am hoping that we've miscalculated somewhere along the line and is not actually on private property.

We got to GZ and the GPS said 0m so I looked down and didn't see it so we left.

Did Not Find It!
The sign we found last time,
was not here today!
(You can google-earth it however)
Please investigate as it makes hard work without the coords!!!

Just returning home from a few days around Adelaide, and I noticed a planet pop up on the radar. Having done a few others we pulled over.
It need a file, but we had the technology,so we downloaded the pdf. We were going well at this point.
Unfortunately, the only Gemini around here was me! There is no sign as described in the pdf - no signs at all, let alone a twin!
I suspect the clue might need a bit of work for this one.
Thanks, Robmc.

We drove toward the icon and pulled over, but!

Jupiter will have to wait to be discovered.

My navigator put me into orbit around a rather plain piece of space with no large planet in sight, perhaps a small moon. Unfortunately the radios were not working on our call for help and so we needed to land on a much larger moon back towards earth and call home. With the navigator sorted out and a new direction many parsecs to the south we headed off along the space route covered in jumping ,running Jovians. We missed them all and eventually found the large planet sitting in space quite clear to see. Recording our visit we headed back towards Earth, again dodging dozens of Jovians leaping all over the place.
Having spent a rather long day doing the wandering heroes series I finally made my rovers event at Gemini downs (having missed the one at tailen bend) only to discover that I had a rather long way to get to the cache. The following day I took the scenic route back to Adelaide and stumbled across this little gem of a location. Another planet ticked off the list
On a different note I spent today (18/8) calculating the orbit trajectories required for a trip to Jupiter, but I wont bore anyone with 5 pages of applied maths

We had collected the information on a previous visit quite some time ago and CrackerGirl finally did the calculations for us and came up with a set of co-ords for us to try this trip. We haven't been very far in the Astro solar system but we have really enjoyed the travels we have done so far. Once setting down on Jupiter the first thing we noticed was the atmosphere here had very high concentrations of h20 making it almost identical to earth rain. This wasn't going to stop our exploration of the area as we had come prepared for this event. We also have to report they have wire fences on Jupiter far more cunningly disguised than on earth and a real trap to intrepid explorers not watching where they are walking. After brushing the mud off we started to wonder if perhaps we had the wrong co-ords and decided to follow our inter galactic pointing machine and we are happy to report that the cache is still there.
Many thanks TeamAStro for another one in a series we hope one day to fully complete

[EXCITING FIND...! Coz......
First up, we had huge trouble extrapilating the info at Gemini... in the end we concluded that the SIGNAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED...!
However, with the help of a consutant mathamatician...! we derived some numbers that seemed to work and made up a sort of logical set of Coordinates.
On our NEXT trip we fired up the GPS and followed it quickly losing confidence about where it was taking us.
It was only a last gasp look and a previous log citing a concern about the vague location, that gave us the persistance to finally come up with the Goodies on Jupiter.
Well done Team Astro, we enjoyed the challenge and siting, but you need to update the pixilated photo in the INFOSHEET. ](can provide photo if you want.. contact thechappos)

I finally worked it out. Gps was about 1 meter away. First one in this series. Hope to get around to doing some more one day. Cache was in good condition and dry inside. Michelle has just got her license so decided to go for a drive. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
Figured out the first part yesterday but have to admit we did not have absolute faith in our results....it has been a long time since we were at school. However, our initial trepidation was unfounded when we eventually found the treasure chest. Look forward to more planetary exploration. Thanks for the cache.
After the Maths teacher worked out the new coordinates earlier in the day, Webbstar had a good idea where to find. No camera in cache send to team astro. First find in solar system, Last find for day. TNLNSL
Having gathered the coords on the last trip down a while ago, we'd planned to collect the final (and everything else) while touring the area. Initial thoughts were, "is this it?", but some geotrails and consistency with previous logs soon made it apparent that we were in the right spot. Like other finders, eventually found it hidden much more simply than expected. Another planet down. TFTC Astro.
Thanks for the drive. Those roads have dust like talcum powder.
Took too many sets of eyes, way too long to find.
Thanks again.

Have had worked this one out for a while and finally had a chance to find the cache. Were looking in all the 'hard' spots and it ended up being in plain view. TFTC.
For some reason, I was expecting an enormous cache, being such a large planet! Found the clues on the way South, and detoured on the way back North to find GZ. Thanks Mr Starman, didn't we see Jupiter last time we were out caching?

Solved this one quite easliy and after completing an orienteering event went and found it. TFTC
Had to get the notes from a friend as we were having trouble downloading them ourselves. Having stayed near the initial coords overnight we proceeded the next day to the final site. Lovely bit of Australia. L ant and took reflector
my school reports went along the lines of, must try harder, or, if he paid more attention...
life, it seems has taught me nothing.
had a look for the cache because we were passing on our way to the snow. the reason it was in the gps is because i am working on teamastros' astrofix.
therefor, i did not know it was a multi, nor that i needed to download an infosheet. had i have paid more attention i wouldn't have spent half an hour searching through someones letterbox for something that isn't there.
live and learn eh.
well, aparently not for some of us!
thanks anyway.
aspro, sazza and pats.

I was sure I was in the right place. But it just didn’t feel right.
Rechecked the co-ords.
How could it be wrong?
So I took a defensive maneuver, and followed an old geotrail. There was the rope, now on the ground, this is getting close. Logs suggested the co-ords are 5m out, in the vicinity of GZ I stopped, looked about me and there it was. I make it 5m out too.
Back out I followed the easier trail, and I suspect the key tag is gone.

I just about gave up thinking I may have mucked up the coordinates saw an old piece of rope hanging from a tree so realised there had been some human activity in the area. Kept looking and eventually found it. I also think it may be out by about 5 metres. Left Goofy and took astronaut. Good fun Thanks TeamAstro
Arrived at the location as the sun was setting.
Looked for about 15 minutes without any luck.
Went back to the car for a torch and started looking again.
Quitter’s luck once again for me.
I was glancing around wandering whether to give up for the day.
I was going to camp for the night and then try again in the morning light.
Just then I spotted something that looked like a cache.
Sure enough 5 metres away from where I was looking was my prize.
With glee I pounced upon it.
Liberated the TB which has been here for some months.

Jupitor is my Apollo 13 cache.
I have been past 4 times although this was my first serious attempt
First time cruised past going isn’t that the first waypoint
Second time took a photo then lost it.
Third time took another picture and worked it out back here at home
This time took co-ords with me on simpson trip so I could do it on the way home.
Lost them again somewhere along the way.
Got back worked it out again
Slept overnight in Robe got up in the morning and found I had lost them again.
Had to recalculate but that’s no problem I know the number sequence (surprise surprise) by heart now.
Then found I could find an entry point that didnt have a gate. Will check co-ords on map at home and then have another go.

Missed our landing by about 5m we think! Very Wet! Mooma gave up and ran off to the car, left the sarge to get very wet! Though we might have the coords wrong but review of the pics showed we must have been very close. Will attempt a new landing in March
deciphered the clues and at least our orbit was in the correct projection. Worried that when we arrived we were to be unlucky but soon found it just beside us.
TN but left a TB

Thanks Team Astro for another on my journey of the universe.
After doing the calculations earlier in the day, we thought that we should complete this one. Especially since i have done the maths once before, whilst heading in the wrong direction, and just to add to my woes, i then accidently overwrote my notes in GSAK.
Once at GZ, uncle posspet spotted the cache, and i left him to sign, whilst running back to the car to avoid the rain.
Incase he forgets, we left a TB there as well.

You wouldnt beleive it, after doing all of the leg work a couple of months ago, i returned to GSAK today, in preperation for our trip next month, only to find that i must have killed off the DB at one stage, and lost all the notes.
Will have to return again, and complete the maths all over again, with the posspet boys this time.

Got all the maths done for the 1st point today, but it was in the opposite direction to what we were heading, so ill have to leave it until i go down there again.
Orbit finally returned to this region and had no problems undertaking a landing on Jupiter. Area was very wet to my surprise and cache was a little damp also!
Took nothing, left some planet & star stickers.
Cheers Astro, slowly working my way through the solar system!

Got to location 1, did the math and worked out that unfortunately the Jupiter trajectory was in the oposite direction to mine (& I was running late!) I'll have to attempt a landing on my next visit to this part of the solar system. Cheers.

Actually, Team Spanner was just peeved because the Jeckyls found this before them Now, how does that saying go.. "Age & Treachery will always overcome youth & Skill". This was our fourth cache to find, and the one that really got us hooked.
Now for the photos, we are picture no. 10, David & Gwen (Team Jeckyl) on the right and Vic & Sue (Now Team Bounty) on the left.

I've been after this one since easter 2003. Each time I've aborted the hunt due to lack of time but this time I was detirmined. After getting to tyhe 2nd location we seemed to find the easy way to GZ despite the lack of the blue key tag. After searching around for about 20 minutes we were about to give up when we spotted the cache. Dunno how we ever missed it because it was within 5M of our GZ. We found this one much harder than it should have been. Must have been cached out for the day. Took coasters and left a reflector. Cheers.
We looked and looked and looked. Nothing. Will contact Astro to confirm that we were in the right place. We'll be back again soon.

TeamAstro has painstakingly used advanced digital techniques and spent many hours restoring these pictures. The results of course are limited here due to the file size. The negative was not able to be run through the machine at the shop, and was handed to Astro. The girl said it was useless. None the less, the neg scanner was fired up at 300dpi, and out these popped. Astro added a bit of hue, colour balance correction and here they are. Some of the negs were washed away in the field (as you can see). The Jupiter camera was on Jupiter for approximately 2 years. The cache was serviced when it was noted to be wet. The camera was drenched. Initially it did not want to wind, but it eventually clicked over.
Spot yourself. Leave a note as I’m not sure who all the pics are.
Thanx for everyone who landed on Jupiter. Here is the proof!
Clear skies, Astro.
Had a look the night before but couldnt find it. Retreated to the nearby Martins Washpool Conservation Park to camp for the night and where I knew there was mobile coverage to confirm I had the right answer with the Team Astro helpline.
This morning headed back passing a wild deer on the way! Didn't know they were around. Found about 8m up the hill from where the GPS wanted me which might be a hint if you are having trouble. Trees and sat lock [8]
Took an eraser and left a paint pen. Cheers Astro.

The Jupiter camera (pictured) has been de-filmed and developed. The film was damaged and could not be run thru the auto printer. Good news is that the negs look OK, well, some of them. I will scan them and upload ASAP. Keep looking here .

A quick fly-by and de-orbit to rid the moisture from this cache. A new note pad was left, with a list of the previous space travelers (inc dates). I also removed the camera and will get the shots developed and posted here ASAP. Fingers xed as the film could be damaged. Note, the blue key tag is gone so ignore this clue – probably not needed.

Surprised to find I was the first visitor in eight months ... but then realised we'd first attempted this one over two years ago, after forgetting to bring the instruction sheet with us Found the cache after approaching the general location from the right angle, and luckily looking in the right spot - just as well, as I was about to give up and write this one off as a miss. Cache contents are a little worse for wear - the log book is stained and mouldy but still able to be written on. Most of the paper contents are pretty fragile, not sure how the camera has held up - the cardboard case was a little damp, but took a piccie anyway. Appears to be 11 shots left. Thanks for the hunt Astro - glad to finally knock this one off!!
Found at 17:10 with Team Boodi. Enjoyable cache, (our 500th find ) contents a bit damp so we attempted to sort it out a bit. Took Travel Bug left Sydney key tag. Thanks Astro.
An easy find with Biggles Bear. Although the final location was a bit of a slow walk frought with spidies and suspicious looking holes in the ground. Took sydney key ring, left lip balm.
A quick visit to restock and drop of TB Beaver's Australian Adventure. The magic mushies are in bloom on Jupiter ... sort of like the great Red Spot.....
clear skies
John
Expedition to the Jovian swamps sucessful.
Cache located between heavy showers of liquid Di-Hydrogen Oxide.
Camera was able to capture shots of passing aliens during docking manouvers. Camera position now stands at 12.
Not sure what the blue tag means unless you are talking about the top of the cache container.

Found at 1145 by David, Gwen, Vic & Sue. Arrived at Gemini with just the waypoint, after phone call decided we needed the paper work! The Policeman's Point Caravan Park (at which we were staying) let us get onto the site and get the required info. Did the calculations, went to bed, then got up in the morning and headed out. Wondered what we were doing very soon after but pressed on. If you have a geo4WD then use it for an interesting drive.
The GPS said we were near it but we were not so sure until we saw the blue key tag! A 1 litre bucket isn't really big enough, as it took nearly as long to repack as to find it! Took a photo (probably #17).
We enjoyed this one.

Found by Team Piggy. A slight detour after someone entered the wrong coords into the GPS, but it helped us to find a nice 4wd track !
Swapped tube of some glittery stuff for a lave lamp candle.
Thanks Astro.
(Cache was hidden well, about 7 mtrs NW from GZ).

We docked with Gemini for the required information. After a quick run through the sums I plotted the slightly longer than we expected course for Jupiter.
During the full on 4WD trip through Messent Cons Park I double checked the sums. Still A Okay and full steam ahead.
As we approached Jupiter no caching areas where coming up on our Moving Maps Space Travel Guidence System.
Triple check the sums. A still Okay. Then it clicked... Check the coords that got entered into the GPSes. DOUH !!!
Luckily it had just meant we had taken a slighty extended, very scenic route to GZ. Once there we
found Jupiter no probs. Thanks Team Astro.

Found at 16:20.
Had the Watermans along for this one.
A nice little oasis in some pretty barren country. There seemed to be some recent tyre tracks and footprints near the road, but either belonged to a non-cacher, or someone couldn't find it.
Took the mirror ball, left glow in the dark cardboard spaceship cutout and some candles.
Took the 19th to last photo of Carina, Stephen, Chris, Alex, Michael, Kimberley, Jemma, Daisy and Jypsi.

Thought I had managed the calculations from the sign OK but after heading off we seemed to have to go a lot further than we expected so a few doubts set in. We were therefore very pleased to find that the cache was where we had calculated it would be. When we saw the blue key tag with nothing in it we were hoping that there were not supposed to be more coordinates in there to lead us somewhere else and someone had removed them. We continued on to where the GPS showed GZ and happily saw the familiar 1 litre bucket. A very pleasant area. Took the stars and left an Aussie Badge. Thanks John and co for all your hard work in placing these Solar System caches.

It was challenging to do maths calculations after so many years, It is a picturesque area, thanks for bringing us here. We left Moon and Star stickers and took the puzzle and a photo the camera is on 22
Thanks Team Astro
