Memorable! Driving into Koo Wee Rup I am thinking...I've been here! As with the other close by multi - big dj vu moment and Memorable- another signed a year ago! TFTC and the FUN. Cache in same place hee hee.
Started off caching this morning with goingplaces2 but it was raining, so the going was slow. Our focus for the day was SideTracked caches and we were pleased to find some. Each one found had two more names added to its log before we headed off to the next one. This was a quick and easy find - well, eventually. TFTC.
We continued on our SideTracked caching trail today with ilook4geo. This was SideTracked find No. 243. We had a bit of difficulty finding this one, but eventually it came to light. All is good with the container and log. Thanks go to Pinkpiggy7 for placing this cache and for adding to the SideTracked series as well.
SideTracked find 304The multi part was no problem, and then I set out for GZ. It took some searching; I had no idea where it could be hiding. I was thinking of a DNF, ... when I found it. PHEW! Cache and log are okay.I do love the name of this town. Last trip here, a few years ago, I left a Bookcrossing book. I just had to in a town called Koo Wee Rup. Last SideTracked find today. TFTC Pinkpiggy7.
I needed a multi today so pulled into Koo Wee Rup on my way to Inverloch in the pouring rain. It was pretty jam packed leaving Melbourne so even a wet walk was a welcome break. Selected the Sidetracked because its good for my stats but I also liked having a back up multi nearby in case it was required. It was nearly needed because I didnt spot anything on the first sweep. Glad to see it in the second. This is Sidetracked #364 for me. Thanks!
Found 7 Sep 2024 at 1:13:20PMAfter doing parkrun in Mirboo North, I gradually meandered my way home finding a few caches along the way.Nearly DNFd this one but a second look secured the smiley with a well hidden box. Many thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for placing REALLY SideTracked - Koo Wee Rup for us all to find. Mrs Crackers was in Tooradin doing some cache maintenance and saw that there were two multi's in KooWeeRup so she decided to take the circuitous route home. Two multi's from one park was also a bonus. The information was gained and the co-ords put in. As there was a work truck parked quite close to one of the gz's a walk was required to find this one.Not too long after arriving at gz the well hidden cache was found and we were adding our name to the log. Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for another in this series.

I was out and about with TanSaf today and headed to Koo Wee Rup dodging all the roadworks along the way. The GPS brought us to the wrong side of the fence near WP1 but I managed to scramble through a gap in the fence and gathered the required information .. (Im getting too old for that) then made an undignified return to the car. We moved the car, parked in a more appropriate place and gathered the information at WP2. The rain had stopped and we walked down to GZ, searched a while before the cache was uncovered. Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the cache.
Today was the day to give the new car a freeway and country run. Skylizard and I set off to Koo Wee Rup for this purpose and to get a few caches. This was our first for the day. Love a straight forward multi with the added bonus of being a sidetracked - working slowly up the ranks. We soon had the required information and set off to retrieve the cache. A quick find. TFTC Pinkpiggy7
After misinterpreting one of the year dates we had a quick and successful find.TFTC and all the associated historical information
Very disappointed that I didn't find this one. Today's trip was designed to get 3 new LGAs and grab the sidetracked caches enroute. TFT hunt. It beat me today
Apparently, there's a petition to get Koo Wee Rup station up and running again. But, what will they do with this lovely footpath!! At GZ, it took me ages to find the cache thanks to some amazing natural camo. Cheers!
Love the way the relics have been integrated into this park multi calculations done for a swift find at GZ...yes 8t looks like Tiz13 is getting on thr sidetracked bandwagon.
09:22After officially saying farewell to 2023 from a vantage point at Queenscliff, it was "REALLY" fun to start our 2024 caching journey without getting too side tracked at Koo Wee Rup.Thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36304
19 December 2023 4:55 pm"Are you okay to drive me to my own event?", was the message I woke up to today, otherwise it might be cancelled. With the news that Brains car had had a bit of a malfunction. But Buhfuhguh to the rescue, quickly picking him up and rushing down to make the event in time. All in all was a great little day out caching in this corner that I rarely visit, thanks for the cache and the little adventure.
Stopped in town last night, talk about lots of rain all day and night! Great to wake this morning to some clouds only. Short walk to collect data and quick find at GZ. TFTC
Find 3181Really enjoyed the railway history of this station. The local community have done a brilliant job to highlight its past.Info was taken down and the calcs done to take us to GZ.After a short search the cache was located. Log signed and all back safe again. Thanks for placing this cache here.
Its always interesting to discover these little snippets of local history via geocaching. Thanks Pinkpiggy7 A favourite point here
Off for a few days down at Phillip Island with BettyBoo3747 and the geodoggies. We just did a few caches along the road and some AdLabs. We read all the signboards on the old station, but it didn't help us with the multi!A nice short walk and interesting questions lead us to the round sistema, and we signed our names. Thanks, Robmc.
21408. The first day of a little trip with Robmc and the geodoggies. Williamstown to Phillip Island with a few caches and several stages of Adlabs along the way. We went here and there gathering the information before unloading the doggies from the car for a walk to GZ. Not sure what the last finder actually found (the one who couldn't do the multi) but it is still most definitely a round Sistema container and nicely hidden. Thanks Pinkpiggy7
Struggled with the working out the way points but found it anyways. Also its not in a sistema container anymore.
Suscoe was heading home today after a delightful and sunny week on Phillip Island. The weather had turned a little today with cloudy skies and light rain every now and again. We love the countryside near Western Port Bay with rolling hills, flat lands and the ever growing urban areas to the north. So many happy cows, green paddocks and asparagus poking through the ground. Thanks to PinkPiggy7 for this interesting look into the history of the rail here.Nice to have another Really Sidetracked done today.
I headed out today with the goal of completing the hard Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Wheel of Challenges souvenir and that goal was achieved so now I can relax for the rest of the month. Unbelievably beautiful weather for the second day in a row this weekend made the task much easier and enjoyable. After doing the nearby multi this one involved a little more walking but still made a nice quick find once at GZ.Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
Very behind on logs, sorry! We were staying at Jam Jerrup for the weekend for a friends 60th birthday party, dressing up in 60s gear! The party was last night and was lots of fun! We checked out of the holiday accommodation this morning and headed back towards Corinella, stopping for a few caches on the way. This was next on the agenda as we are now heading home towards Melbourne. We collected the info, made our way towards GZ, waited for some dog walkers to go past before diving into the bush where JMelb made the find. TFTC PinkPiggy7- GJMMelb
A quick Melbourne visit and left early to find a couple - this being one of them. Love what has been done in this area. Luckily to notice something without need to sidetrack. Thanks for continually giving to our game Pinkpiggy7

As soon as we clear the list, more SideTracked caches pop up.
That's a good thing. So are multicaches which are definitely my favourite type.
In the consecutive quests to find all the nearby caches in this series whilst attempting to get the multicache finds ratio back up to 10% and also continuing a bit of a streak, this one ticks all the boxes. Found with +Wife and EveTheStaffy. Thanks Pp7.

One more cache from Pinkpiggy7 and it's a Sidetracked cache too.
This one was worked out and found with EveTheStaffy and n0w0rries.
All in good order here. Thanks for the cache.

Sometimes we get a chance to stop at Koo Wee Rup on our way up to or back from Melbourne. Today was such a day. I had to check on one of my own caches we’d adopted from De Je Vue and still had time to do the other two caches recently published here. This one had the added advantage of being a Sidetracked cache! The presence of reminders and relics lends the area perfect for a multi cache. Thanks for the information and chance to explore the area Pinkpiggy7.
Out feeding the sidetracked obsession, I felt the train was going back and forth on this one.
Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the cache.
Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the cache.
After a productive meeting at the Kernot Food and Wine Store with my colleagues, I couldn't resist indulging my Sidetracked obsession by heading over to this cache. As of now, I've successfully found and logged 91 of these outstanding Sidetracked caches.
Once I arrived at the cache location, I diligently completed the required tasks to reveal the GZ. I signed my name in the logbook, leaving a mark of my adventure for others to see.
Regrettably, it's now time for me to bid farewell to this cache and make my way back to the "burds," Favorite point rewarded.

Made the trip over to Koo Wee Rup this morning to seek out the 2 new multi's and take a stroll around the revitalised reserve
Required info sought, maths done and soon the caches were in hand
All in excellent condition
Love the work done on the platform, the memorial and the reserve
Many thanx to Pinkpiggy7 for the double multi's

What is Maxwell Smart always say?
"Missed it by that much"
In this case, missed it by 5 minutes.
I had worked out the Multicache part remotely and using photos I already had. However with dinner already cooking and it smelling delicious, I waited. If it wasn't my turn to do the dishes, I could have got to GZ earlier, but never mind.
However when I did get to the car park, another empty car was nearby. Rushed to the GZ, and found the container in the first place I looked. Then discovered Bounty Trackers name in the log with a time stamp exactly 5 minutes before me.
Walking back to the car, the FTF log came thru, and I had a laugh at it. Back in the car leaving I glaced at the Multicache I had done earlier and saw a torch. Stopped and got to have a great chat with BT, so it turned into a different but still enjoyable outage.
Thanks for the cache Pink Piggy 7
