Out on a whacky Whendnesday with IolantheK. A short detour in to the bush to look for this one. Some nice deep puddles in there. Numbers crunched by IolantheK. Nice easy find at GZ.

Today teamdfl and I have found time for another crazy day of geocaching. After meeting up at North Lakes for coffee and cake, we headed north with with no great plan in mind, and will see where we get to. I suggested this as the first stop as I was curious about it, but didn't really know the area, so wanted a buddy with me just in case I heard banjos! Bluey the Subaru had fun with the large potholes, but we arrived at GZ unscathed. A fascinating bit of history here. Numbers crunched and we were off to the final where the cache was quickly discovered. We also made sure to take a peek at the campground nearby. TFTC, Beardman75.

A nice morning drive in the rain and I was soon parked and gathering the information. It's a shame that so much rubbish gets dumped in this area. My check sum worked so I headed off and I was soon at GZ and made a quick find.Log signed and all returned as found.I always enjoy a quick multi with a good bit of history and this has both. A FP for the fun. TFTC I took along some trackables for a visit.

On our way to the Sunny Coast, we stopped here for the Multi - which was for quite a while on my to-do list.We made the necessary calculations and had at first try the checksum correct! Great! When we approached the GZ of the final, we had our doubts .... Is it really correct? It was a bit unexpected. We choose to walk and yes, spotted a suspicious spot, found the cache and signed the log.A multi which we can solve in one go from start to final cache gets a fav point.Tftc Beardman75

This morning I had been up at the Eumundi markets with my wife, daughter and mother. We were up there for some belated Mothers Day shopping but when you say the word shopping and the group is packing 3 vaginas and one penis lets say the person packing the penis is on a hiding to nothing.I was happy to see some important ladies in my life having fun and spending money. I wasnt even unhappy when they started spending my own money. When they started asking for my wallet to check if there was any chapstick in it and fidty dollar bills started to go missing, I still wasnt worried. On the drive home I told everyone that after dropping them off I was heading out for a multi. Someone politely said that we should check if there was one on the way home. The plan was made, the trap was set, and the prey was caught. The member of the group with a penis was finally going to get a win.My mother isnt all that interested in geocaching but even she couldnt say that 4WDing down a wet dirt road to an unknown cemetery wasnt interesting. She didnt care about the actual hide but was tickled with the history. tftc

I had completed a kayak on the Pumicestone Passage and had a bit of time to kill before going to a CITO. This cache has been on my radar since it was published, so I had already penciled it in as a possible find after my paddle.I drove down the dirt road as far as my small hatchback could go, dodging the puddles until I decided that it was better to stop than get bogged. Then I walked the remaining 70 meters to get to the initial coordinates. The information collected and calculated (thanks for the checksum), I then made my way towards GZ.On arrival close to Ground Zero I was fairly concerned about how to park so I pulled off as much to the side of the road as possible and put my hazard lights on . At Ground Zero, the cache was an easy find. I figured if anyone came across me and asked if I needed help I just tell him I was having a nature break which I thought it was. Thanks, Beardman75, for this really interesting piece of nearly hidden part of history that you have brought me to and thanks for putting this cache here to bring it to cachers attention.

Today's adventure led me to the historic remnants of Campbellville, a once-thriving sawmilling town nestled along the banks of Coochin Creek. Founded in 1881 by James Campbell, this quaint settlement flourished with activity, housing a sawmill, wharves, residences, and essential amenities such as a store, post office, and school. As I ventured through the foliage of the reserve, I couldn't help but imagine the bustling scenes of yesteryears, where Bunya pine, cedar, and hardwood timber were harvested from the nearby Blackall Range and transported downstream to the sawmill by bullock teams and steamships like "Mavis."The demise of Campbellville came with the arrival of the railway, altering the transportation dynamics of the timber industry and prompting the relocation of the sawmill to Albion in Brisbane. With the departure of workers and the shift of operations, Campbellville faded into obscurity, its buildings relocated or left to succumb to time. The rediscovery of Campbellville's remnants in 1966 during forestry work reignited interest in its history. Today, the site stands as a testament to the perseverance of those who once called it home, with the Campbellville Cemetery serving as a poignant reminder of the town's past. After a trek through the overgrown vegetation, I finally reached the designated coordinates, uncovering the geocache tucked amidst the echoes of Campbellville's narrative. With each find, we pay homage to the resilient spirit of communities lost to time, ensuring their stories endure for generations to come.Happy caching!

wow the places geocaching takes me to i would never see otherwise. I did worry about driving up to the posted coordinates so i took a short walk and the road was not too bad after all the rain. Once i gathered the information i was happy that i did my homework before i came out this way and had read other logs so i was almost confident my GZ was ok thanks to the checksum. At GZ it was not too long before i had the cache in hand and i safely made it back to my car. Thanks for taking me here and for the interesting multi

A drive north today to grab two caches in this area, one for a particular challenge. Both caches help with my challenges of which are becoming a little "challenge to keep forfiling. The first was a multi and a fun one to do. I was surprised as to where the first waypoint was and how the CO found it, great job. I grabbed the info required for this one and did some calculations. I was a little dubious as to where I had the finals but I went off to find and sign the log book. Being a Monday there was no one around here so I parked next to where I had and wondered in. Yep all good found it and signed the log and replaced the cache as found. There is a reason why I do not put dates on logs and leave it up to cachly to do, yeah 6 and a 8 they sort of look the same. A nice and fun multi and a favourite point for this one from me.

The next find for the afternoon, I was pleased to note that my i20 was able to drive along this road all the way to WP1. Really interesting spot, last place I would expect the remnants of a township would be a pine plantation! Not too long after I had co ordinates, where the cache was quickly located. Thanks for showing me this hidden slice of sunny coast history Beardman75!

Out today enjoying caching. I had been here many years ago for a cache. So I am back to find this one. The information was spot on and we were soon on our way to the final. I went to find while geofriend parked down the road. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Beardman75. All good with this multi.

As [georode](https://coord.info/PR2V198) and I travelled through Baringa on our way home from Caloundra in a vehicle convoy, this historic/remote cemetery multi-cache caught our attention. Consequently, it was our final stop/find for the day. We both thought that we'd just drive to the posted coordinates, but the track from Roys Road was too 4WD for [georode](https://coord.info/PR2V198) to handle, so we left his car at the intersection, and utilised the Prado for the remainder. It was an interesting site, and it didn't take long to work through the digits, with the checksum providing confidence that we hadn't fat-fingered any answers. We decided to travel together to GZ, and it wasn't long before the cache was found; The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [Beardman75](https://coord.info/PRG2ADN) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, I joined [georode](https://coord.info/PR2V198) on a trip north to the Sunshine Coast, with the Caloundra [Midday Meetup at Kings](https://coord.info/GCAF30H) event providing us with the motivation for our northern drive. Before meeting [georode](https://coord.info/PR2V198), I visited a few targeted puzzles in Bells Creek that I hadn't solved until recently, and it was a longer walk than I had appreciated. We then tree-fished a few geocaches in Baringa, before meandering through the vicinity before joining the event for lunch. We both had notional times to finish our day mid-afternoon with either promises made to the family or home chores to perform, so we utilised our remaining time visiting *Howzat?!* cricket series geocaches that we had solved, in addition to the three newly published *MakkuMob* geocaches.

Alyce and I still needed a Multi for the month and after a quick glance at the map we spotted our dilemma, there’s nothing nearby so our only option was to head north.

We tried our luck at ‘Bora Ring’ first but our plans were haulted immediately due to tree harvesting and signs stating we couldn’t enter, so yeah, there goes that idea, now it’s time for Plan B. We took another look at the map and noticed this multi about 10kms away, we had a quick read over it and noticed our choice of vehicle may not be appropriate, eeek!!!

We arrived and took a quick look ahead at the road condition and from what we could see everything looked promising and sure enough it was, although after some rainfall that may not be the case. After a bumpy ride we arrived at our destination and got cracking and had some numbers a few minutes later. GZ looked to be in a really precarious spot and we thought we may have buggered up our calculations so we went over it numerous times double checking and even triple checking what we had and come up with the same numbers every time. I guess the only option now is to see if we’re correct, so off we went

Unfortunately there wasn’t anywhere to park so we went back to where we were originally and went on foot from there. Please be mindful here, it’s dangerous and watch your step. You’ve been warned.

After a short walk we arrived at GZ and spotted the promising location straight away, although it wasn’t there but the next best spot we searched. We made our mark on the log then cautiously made our way back to the car.

What a great little adventure that was, we’ve both never ventured out this way before so it was nice to visit somewhere new.

Thanks for bringing us here.

Looking for a cache to take my Muggle sister to today to explain a multi to her, once we arrived the sign was sighted and then we transferred the info needed to paper , a couple of uncertains - Is that a Or isn’t it. Well the checksum added up first time so excellent - and we set off to the final in a direction I wasn’t expecting .
Once there a search of the area proved the sums were correct as the cache was found .
Signed log kingfisherau 11:55 am 31/8/2023 and replaced all as found,
Beardman75 - TFTC.

When Beardman75 started talking about an abandoned town I thought we were in for a serious roadtrip… Pillinger, Copperfield or Cassilis… no… there’s one within an hour of Brisbane… WT!

So here we are… what a fascinating piece of history… make sure you bring your fedora, whip and machete as it takes some effort to locate the physical remnants of Campbellville… Beardman75 really knows how to show a girl a good time…

Listen closely and you might hear the banjos…

This is the first time we have been this way down the road. It was great to discover the historical site and I wonder if there are more hidden away in the area. The owner of the caravan parked at the site came from down the road to see what we were up to. After miss interpreting one of the questions we finally had some likely coords and headed back out to GZ. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Beardman75. A favourite from us.

FTF A new Multi-cache to find and only 9kms from home, didn't even realize there was the remains of a cemetery here. Arrived at the posted coords and parked next to what looks like an abandoned caravan. Read the Campbellville Cemetery information board and gathered the information that was neccessary to determine the coords for the final. With the check sum agreeing with our maths, it was off to GZ and with the good hint it made for a quick find. Thanks so much for the history lesson and being so close to home as well. Deserves a favourite point for the adventure. TFTC Beardman75 Smile
