Needed to take the car for a spin because I started the day with a flat battery, so why not collect some caches at the same time. In QLD on a bucket list Holliday to,the tip and cape york. Found with grumpi68. TFTC.
Spent some time today hunting some of the caches around the Longreach area. Each log found was signed and we were happy to claim the find here. TFTC.
Decided to stay in Longreach for a couple of days with ilook4geo. Today we chose to pick up some of the caches around town and are happy with what we achieved. The log here was signed with both names and was then replaced as found. This was really fun cache and gets a FP. Thanks for this cache placement go to youngoldfella.

Out in Longreach to visit friends and thought I would tick one off while out here. TFTC
The cache title and large size was enough for the Brissy TEA party to drop by for a look see. No pirates but did see two brologas being fed by a couple sitting under their van annex. Great to see the big birds weren't too concerned with anything. Thanks YOF and the team for placing this cache.
We found your cache today 12 June 2024 2:20pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC QOGM2023 Placement team Member ( youngoldfella)
The lid was way off on the ground. After signing the logbook we put it proper back on. TFTC
Was a little slippery to get to it - but excited I found it nonetheless Was so satisfying to see actually aaand great view
Staying in blackall for a few weeks visiting family we decided to make a trip to longreach and collect various caches up the highway, through Barcaldine and then on to Longreach. The log book is no longer inside the skull. Looks like it fell apart. Tftc.

Visiting Longreach to celebrate 110 years of scouting here. Took the opportunity to find some caches.

QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 24. Longreach Day 7. Caching around Longreach and Illfracombe. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. With Gliss!, NibletRiceCakes, Contesta, Fitzy_1965 and nalbida33, we spent the day doing the caches we had not got to during the various road trips. We had to go back to Illfracombe as we had run out of time last night for the caches around town. We finished the caches on the list in time to have lunch at the Tavern in town and retire to some couches for an afternoon of swapping stories and doing a little bit of logging. Dinner was held at camp for the first time in several days. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella44515.19 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & February 2022 Don't be a Packrat A#485**Albida**
33,292. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 24. Today our group did a clean up of the Longreach and Ilfracombe areas picking up any caches which were still available - surprisingly quite a few for me. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as CC1 (Contesta, GLISS!, Nibletricecakes, albida33 and myself, for Canberra Cachers plus 1). Awesome cache - Fav Point ! Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
After attending the Longreach QOGM for last week, it is nice to have a more relaxing day, grabbing anything around the area before heading towards home.Stopped off here and made an easy enough find at GZ.Loved the hide so given a fav. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
The Drovers, Geoturtle37, Team Crackers and myself had a great time at the last ever QOGM, held in Longreach this year. We are attempting to grab as many LGA's as we can along the way.We hadn't been able to attend the relevant event as we were still on the road but this was a great surprise. Congratulations of the cache of the week, fully deserving. We used the acronym PDGC (Papi Drove(rs) Geoturtle Crackers) to save room in the logs. Thanks for this great cache.

We are heading up to Longreach for the last QOGM with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 naturally stopping to grab any caches that come on the map aiming to get as many LGA's as we can.Unfortunately we were still travelling uo on "Talk like a pirate day" and really wished we were there as we heard nothing but great reports. We were able to come and locate this cache and we were certainly impressed with the effort that has gone into this one, After taking a couple of happy snaps we added our acronym to the log book and returned things as we found them.To save room in the log we signed PDGC (Papi Drove Geoturtle Crackers)Many thanks youngoldfella for the best themed cache we have seen in a long time, a definite favourite point from us.
Definitely the very best cache us landlubbers found up to, during QOGM, and beyond.Congratulations Youngoldfella for a well deserved international Geocache of the WeekFound with icybeetas and left with another favourite point from me.
Travelling to the Longreach QOGM get together with Team Crackers, The Drovers and Papi4506.We had a rather left, right, left, right trip here looking for various LGA's along the way.We are pleased to have arrived but we didn't manage to make it to the Pirate event, sorry. This is an awesome cache and deserving of it's accolades. Thank you for the smile and the cache.
Heading to Cape York with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & Team Crackers, after the QOGM in Longreach. This is one of the many caches that we found whilst in the area. The log was signed as PDGC, to save space, (Papi Drovers Geoturtle Crackers). Thanks to all the Co's for making this trip, more enjoyable. Signed and replaced as found.
So excited to be up in Longreach for our first ever QOGM! It hasnt disappointed so far and there is still so much to do. Grabbed this today whilst out with Contesta and GLISS! Find # 8990In Longreach for QOGM2023! Finally made it ??So much planning and work goes into organising this fabulous event and it is definitely worthwhile coming to the central west for the incredible caching adventure. In the trails with some of the usual suspects ?? and it never ceases to amaze me the generosity of the caching community. A huge thanks for all the fun and shenanigans along the way. Great adventures were had in spite of the challenges, not all geocaching ones either, and we all enjoyed a good tale or two.QOGM2023 - Out on the trails with GLISS! and Nibletricecakes to collect some local caches. This was a quick and easy find and ?? here at "PIRATE PROJECT" Off Course and Marooned GZ. ?? LOVED this one. Wish I could have left more than one favourite ?? Thanks so much for the many caches youngoldfella and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light ??????
Found after a drive through the town common. A lot of effort went into this well done and thank you.
As Grub62 and I pulled up near GZ Cache Hunters_Karen and Mark arrived also. I followed the geotrail in to find a wonderful effort of a cache then stepped back so Cache Hunters' Miss 3 could "find" the cache. She was also helpful logging herself in the logbook. I liked the effort that has gone into the surroundings and also the swag. A cache that youngoldfella is rightfully proud of. TFTC.
What a WONDERFUL cache. youngoldfella should be so proud of this cache. We were accompanied by another couple of cachers and it was a delight to see Miss 3's face whe she saw the cache. TFTC and for bringing us here QOGM2023 Placement Team. So pleasedd I didn't need to walk the plank to find the cache today.Another favourite point from me.
Attending QOGM for the first time but I have visited this region on a few occasions pre Covid and pre geocaching. On the trail today to find the jigsaw and jiggiriddle caches. Took time off the trail to be back in Longreach for fuel, this cache and to attend an event. Thank you for this cache. A favourite point awarded.
Well, this is certainly off course and marooned, in fact a pirate here would more likely be a bush ranger! Fabulous cache which had the whole four of us laughing and in awe. Such a lot of booty too, although I doubt many shops in Longreach would accept the coins from here , besides it looks much prettier with all its friends. Thanks for such a wonderful cache that is getting favourite point from me!
One of our favourite caches this trip. Appreciate all the work that went into it. Thanks youngoldfella for all you do for our enjoyment.
This is our first and last time that we will get to experience a QOGM !!!Sooo glad we made it !!!We will never be able to thank the QOGM committee and others anywhere near enough for all their hard work to make these events with all the associated caches that go along with it ??Its been an absolute HOOT !!!Especially enjoyed the Saturday muster as team PORTONGA with The Morris, trads, multis, wherigos, all found with great teamwork, and a win in the photograph run to boot ??TFTCs and an amazing QOGM !!!
Attending the final QOGM with BenM70 this week and looking to turn solved puzzles and anything else we pass by into smilies. After completing the Flights Muster and the Jigsaws we carried on to grab a couple more. I placed one for the pirate project at home in Townsville. Nice hide here. Thanks youngoldfella for organising this and bringing a large group to the region. Well done to all over the past 5 years. Have a FP.
Townsvilles contingent, burgo78 and myself went to locate as many caches as possible while out in Longreach for QOGM 2023. Paper logs have been signed either individually or as TSV#1s or similar Day 2 and the first muster out to Muttaburra. Picking up these on the way. The organisers had set up a forks multi, as well as the first series of the Flights of Fantasy Traditionals, then we picked off the Jigidi puzzles followed by a few more around the shire of Longreach This was an unexpected find. I think someone has gone all out with this cache, and fair enough too. They dont hand out these for just any day of the year. This be arrrgh right Thanks youngoldfella for placing this very piratey cache for my find # 4624
TFTC smile 16776 out and about on a lovely day sign as part of the QOGM 23 placement team
Attending QOGM2023 with Imbunda, today tackled the loop of Puzzle caches to Starllight EC and return to Longreach. These were solved prior to our arrival.Along the way we met up with the MeanDe, HansandLinda, maccamob and dickbev and formed a convoy of 4 vehicles. Was a fun run even if we were tail-end-charlie and ate a lot of dust. All caches were found in good condition. Everyone got out of their car to sign the logs. After completing this trail we went our separate ways, then went in search of a few more caches closer to home.Came to this cache and made a quick of this fab Pirate themed cache. Checked out all the goodies in the cache container and the pirate ship. What a great cache!!A fav point from me!TFTC youngoldfella
Found on a trip with e.gregory1 traveling through western New South Wales and central Queensland to attend the QOGM at Longreach. After QOGM I made my way to Brisbane for a few days before a return drive back to Adelaide via the north coast of NSW, central NSW and the Riverlands. Signed our names in full, or as FW e.g1 to save time and space in the logbooks. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella!

Running around Longreach with Temingi for QOGM 2023After an early registration and the 'Talk like a Pirate' EventWe teamed up with Yella Belly to make a start on some of the local cachesStarting with the then unpublished letterboxes, some solved puzzles and other miscellaneous hides around town. Looks like many others had the same idea. After a run down Silsoe Road, worked our way back into around town Had to have a look at the newly published cacheAll good here - that boat is definitely marooned and well out of water ...Most logs signed DDYBT for the team, to save room in the log booksSigned and replaced as foundThanks for the PIRATE cache youngoldfella
Over from Otautahi Christchurch for this the last Outback Muster. Spent ages working out all the puzzles but I really enjoy jigidi ones. Shame I didnt find them as I didnt join in with someone with a spare seat for the day. Thanks to all the organisers for the hard work and effort in putting this and previous events together. Only sad thing is I could only get to Blackall before this one. Sorry this is cut and paste logging but I will add in a comment as required along the way. Ma te wa from me for the time being. Im sure we will meet again
This was a surprise package for us, I saw the listing published and contacted Nathan and Alyce straight away. Within moments they were off driving to the cache. It was not that long before we arrived and signed the log there were just a couple of other names in it then. Seeing the names and the *FTF* next to the signatures made me laugh, well done.We signed the log and replaced as found just as others were arriving now as well. A nice big cache and a nice pirate ship for the appropriate day. worthy of a favourite point here.
Popped into town to register and then we headed off to do the Letterbox trail and question mark. Chatted with various cachers we met on the way. Arrived back in time for the pirate event, we then proceeded to head to the bakery and shops for a few supplies before making a run on the jigsaw trail. These were a priority for me having spent hours on jigsaws. Which saw us complete 75% of them until we had a prior appointment that we needed good reception for. We had booked into Trivia at the Wellshot and our team came a very respectable 4th - despite doing us dirty over a LOTR question. Almost ready to turn in for the night we notice a new Lab some 240m from our front door- so off we went again. Caching with Gcoven, Chamad, Nathan & Alyce as The Misfits!
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. ???????????? (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. ??????[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. ???????? Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - ?? Young Old Fella ?? [^]??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
This was an extremely long day with plans to do all the QOGM geoart and letterbox caches along with random ones we hadn't previously found.I joined forces with Bluewattle and Davidwazza, and we worked efficiently and effectively as a team in finding all the caches on our to-do list. Recorded no DNF's, and only one PAF was required, and we started off with writing our full names in logs but quickly changed to initals to speed up the process and save room in log sheets. Also, apologies for these generic logs.Thank you to all the cache owners for placing such a large volume of traditional, puzzle, and letterbox caches for our benefit and enjoyment ??A favourite point to the QOGM2023 Placement team Member ( youngoldfella) for the best cache I've seen at QOGM ????
Something special or unusual goes here:Just about to head out to cache and Muffs notice this cache had just come out so off we go. [^] See a car parked where the road gets rough and a figure walking off in the direction of some bushes. Held up by a power truck and crew we eventually get past and arrive at GZ just as the figure disappears into the bushes. Got it yet [?] Yep. [^] said Nathan as we joined him in the foliage and added our stamps next to his name. What a cache. Fantastic in fitting with the theme of the day. Definitely worth two FPs but I can only award one. [:X] Nathan_and_Alyce graciously decided to share the FTF with us. The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 13 : Early Registration or cache. [?] We were already up and ready to cache so we elected to go into town for a shower and then cache. [^] Right place right time meant a joint FTF and then off to collect some solved puzzles, which turned into grabbing the yet to be published Letterbox caches before returning for the Pirate event frivolities. More solved puzzles to be collected and then attendance at a very special cache. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks QOGM2023 Placement team Member ( youngoldfella) for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
