Found with Gazania Rigens, as per her log.She spotted the cache. She spotted the possum.Keep up, Zouave! Thanks for looking after this Golden Oldie.
Zouave and I were passing this area and just had to make the detour for this oldie. It was a quick find, the cache is in good condition. I left two trackables before walking back to the car under the watchful eye of a possum high up in a tree. TFTC!
I can't believe that I approached this entirely incorrectly when I visited a few months ago. Then, I had been deterred by the locked gate for a shooting activity. Today, I parked in the carpark and walked towards GZ, only to find that the cache was on the other side of the fence! I could see it!!Anyway, I drove back out onto the road, pulled over on the side, and dashed up to the cache. I took photos of my current trackables with it and picked up the trackables that were in it. I'll take them with me on my coming adventures.Thank you, The Coffee's, for maintaining this wonderfully old cache. It tick a box for some Golden Oldies Challenge Caches in Canberra, GC81Y9N and GC8RA5R
A few days in and around Melbourne. At the top of our agenda was to visit this old cache and log it successfully. The area there is very beautiful and we were amazed at how much wine is grown. Here we give an Favo- pointMany thanks to the owner who looks after this special cache and greetings from the Moorhelmi
On the way to Mornington Peninsula we made the detour to claim this oldie that's in good condition. Two years ago on the Great Victorian Cache Crawl, we missed this stage / event, so today rights that wrong. Thanks for the fun.
Cache was found after a short search. Thanks for the fun. Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Woden's day the sixteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Great to be able to come out here and find this 2000 cache so much history here over the last 24 years, the cache is still in good conditionTravelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
The hint doesnt seem right but the coordinates were good. Everything in good condition. TFTC
I can't believe I didn't know this golden oldie was here! Best thing was discovering the Devil Bend brewery just down the road afterwards.
I'm currently on a business trip and in Australia for the first time. Of course, I couldn't pass up the chance to find a geocache from the year 2000. TFTC!
I was in the area to visit the hot springs and stopped by on the way home. Nice quick find in the obvious spot. Thanks for maintaining this old cache.
Having worked on Mornington Peninsula 2017-29 and 2023, I didn't even know that this old treasure was here!I was in the area again today and drove down to find this cache, only to be confronted by this! I guess I'll have to wait a few more months until I'm back down that way again. And not only for this cache, but for the challenge cache in Canberra that needs me to find one more geocache hidden in 2000-2001...
I didnt know about the small gate near the bridge until we signed the cacheVery happy for a 2000 cacheThanks for the adventure
Nice and easy findonly on the wrong side of the fence Headed back to sign the log after we were done exploring. TFTC
Myself and idontcachemuch are visiting Melbourne for the Kings birthday game this year.I'm very excited as I've always wanted to go to the big freeze game.We are also taking a trip with a hire car to the Mornington Peninsula on the Tuesday. It is so so cold down here today. Which a local friend tells me is normal... that sucks.Anyway, I couldn't leave without finding this cache. A nice quick find and sign here. Thanks The Coffee's for this traditional cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 4151 on the 11th of June 2024.
Out today to try for 3 new LGAs and some SideTracked caches enroute. Added this one due to its age. TN, left a pathtag. TFTC
Cache # 11253 on 27 Apr 2024Decided to take advantage of the ANZAC day holiday and make a long weekend of it - added a road trip with Bobl27 to the mix and all is set for a fun few days. We are travelling from home in the ACT to Victoria via Cooma and then doing a relaxed loop to Melbourne picking up a few caches and counties along the way. And then straight up the Hume home! No tricky DTs or long walks this trip. Wonthaggi to Melbourne today via a few counties and a couple of older caches! This cache: this old cache was on my to do list while in the area! A bit easier to get to than Victoria High Country! Quick find at GZ and dropped a pathtag for for the next finder! Thank you The Coffee's for placing this old cache and the fun!
Autumnal Victorian Roadtrip.Day Four: Mostly MorningtonWeather: still perfect! Target cache of the day. I do believe that this fills a Jasmer Square for me. Its an inauspicious hide, but Im thrilled to have found it. The cache notes make for interesting reading too.A big thank you to Paul Davis for the original hide Devil Bend is a nice spot, Ive not been before), and to The Coffees for all theyve done to keep this piece of history in play. A favourite.
On a couple of nights away with my muggle fisher hubby. We are staying at cape schank resort and just exploring the Mornington area. Admittedly the whole trip was planed around getting this cache so I could finish the old timers challenge. This was a nice easy find TFTC
We are visiting from Canada and this cache was on our "Must Find" list. A beautiful drive in the country and a quick find at GZ. Thank you for keeping this cache alive! TFT
Grabbed this one today while visiting family. I have been to this area many times but didnt know this old cache was here until a friend told me about it. Thanks.
18:19found during Xth day australia. finally koalas! we spent night in lakes entrance and the moved to paynesville's koala trail and in the afternoon to melbourne.last cache of the day. we couldn't miss this old 2000, so we took a short detour. quick and easy found.thanks for the cache.
Between the road and the fence. Watch out for the low-hanging branch - I got my head twice! TFTC
Day 15 of our roadtrip in Australia. Today will be a lot of driving, to get to Canberra for the Mega. We however split the distance in two days and will spend the afternoon and the night in Rutherglen for some wine tasting. But of course there's another mission - get those two 2000 caches that are located around Melbourne. We started quite early to get this one first - made the trip in one hour thanks to the toll roads. An easy drive in, we've had to work a lot harder for a few other year 2000s . Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo
Jasmer Calendar Filled!!It's taken us nearly 14 years to find at least one cache hidden in each month since geocaching started in May 2000. We've been caching in the UK, USA, Argentina, all over mainland Europe and now in Australia to complete the challenge. We have a feeling of accomplishment, but a gap in our need for a challenge has opened up. What next? Double Jasmer?!Anyway, this cache was perfect for what we needed. A November 2000 cache that you could park right next to ... without having to hike miles in bear-infested forest after negotiating a perilous logging road in a hire car. (Something offered by the USA to complete our challenge!).So, a "quick easy find" was made. We stamped, signed and stickered the log book and dropped a red panda key-ring from ZSL zoo in the UK into the cache. All replaced as found.Milestone reached and reported to Sonny and Sandy at Podcacher (www.podcacher.com), photos taken and all packed up ready for our next adventure. Thank you so much for continuing to maintain this old cache so we could find it today. Have a favourite point just for that!
My muggle friend and her sweet hubby entertained me royally last night so I slept like a log. We headed out this morning to find a few caches. This oldie was at the top of my list for the Melbourne area. My friend was excited about it since we had only found urban caches so far. I chose the wrong side of the fence first, but was able to spot the location from where we were. We drove around to where we needed to be and found the cache. It wasn't all that we had hoped it would be, but we were able to sign the log. This was our last find for the day so we went to celebrate at a nearby winery. Thank you for the smiley and the fun! The day:Today I continued my month long journey from the U.S. along the east coast of Australia!! The muggle friend I made 6 years ago in Greece who hosted me for my two days in Melbourne took great care of me AND enjoyed getting a few caches with me. We ended the adventure at a lovely winery and then went back to her place for a fabulous duck dinner. I was thoroughly spoiled. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
Woo hoo! Straight from the WA plane and found easily in the dark. Great to find an oldie.
We kunnen terugkijken naar 2 mooie weken in Australi!NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to Australia for 4 weeks. We will go to Tasmania for the first week and then travel around on the "mainland" for 3 weeks. Along the way I'll meet my niece, I haven't seen her for 50 years. It will be a holiday full of experiences......Our cache goal is to visit different countries. So we fly back to Dubai and forth via HongKong. We would like to score an FTF in Australia. We do that in Tasmania?? Then the webcam caches in Adelaide and the old caches between Adelaide and Sydney. Then we end up at the Mega in Canberra. A full program which a lot of fun!Unfortunately, after 2 weeks we have to end our trip with an earlier return flight to the Netherlands. My mother passed away and we have to go back. We can look back at 2 beautiful weeks in Australia!
I got worried for a minute - but then found it.Thanks for keeping this old cache going - first one I've found placed this month.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we went on nice excursions around the Melbourne area.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndy
We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. This has been a great trip with a multifold of new impressions and experiences.During our stay in Melbourne we had also the opportunity to visit some caches. This cache was one of the caches on our prioritylist and therefore worth a little detour. Thanks for leading us here and showing and thanks for the cache.
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.
Fifth day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. One of the greatest experiences on our trip is visiting the old caches ??. Although my Jasmer has already been filled twice, it is still something special for me to find such an old container. As a European, I'm a bit apprehensive about driving here, so I was glad that a bus was hired for our group. I would probably have had problems with driving on the left ??. So I wasn't alone at the hideaway, but I got there at all ??. As always with the old ones, the place is a highlight. Beautiful views and an interesting landscape. Of course I wasn't the first to find the box with so many cachers, but it was still a special moment to enter my name in the logbook. Thank you for placing it & looking after it for years .Fnfter Tag in Australien ??.

# 21436Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. For our last day in Melbourne the travel company had rented a bus and we had the opportunity to get a little further away to find some old caches. I have completed my Jasmer (twice), but I always enjoy finding the old caches. They are usually placed at some nice and unique places with beautiful sights and views. That was also the case today with these oldies. The last cache in Melbourne (-area) for me was this oldie, a cache from November 2000. Before my trip here Downunder, I had found two caches from this month, but during the trip the number was elevated by four, and now this month is ready for my quadruple Jasmer - if I get to that, but hopefully some day ...What an interesting and odd place, but very beautiful like many of the other old caches. Tak for cachen til The Coffee's.

We thought this was in the reserve but we walked to gz and could see the cache on the other side of the fence so went back out onto the road to claim the find. This is one of our Jasmers - only three left to complete it ATFTC SL Greetings from Ireland!

EnglishWe are six Norwegians on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. We arrived in Melbourne at the beginning of February and are traveling home after the mega event in Adelaide. We travel by car and Geocaching helps us discover many nice places and often helps to decide where we choose the route between our goals which are: Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Dunedeen, and Adelaide. This is one of the caches we found on the trip and we thank you for showing us this place. We who are on tour have the nicknames: MrVonsr, ingsve, EllenSch and TeamEika. And signs the logs with N4.Great thanks for showing us and doing our tour wonderful NorwegianVi er seks nordmenn p tur i Australia og New Zealand. Cachehilsen fra Ellen Sch, NorgeMe and MrV sr have come down to Australia and New Zealand, -an old dream has finally come to an end. Team Eika and Ingsve have also traveled with us on this trip.We have been traveling cross-country for a month, and the goal is to end up in Adeleide and mega-event on the leap year. We have especially looked for old caches, to fill jasmer'n, for a couple of pieces, and for the other two of us who have started to think about reviewing more. The vast majority of them showed up at their places, sometimes we had to search a bit, but we were usually lucky in the end. There were also some DNFs.We have mostly logged in with the common nickname N4 (ingsve, Von sr. TeamEika and Ellen Sch), but our own nicknames are also used.A big thank you to all you CO's for laying out and maintaining your caches. Without their work, we would never have been able to make a living with this hobby.Always nice to have a new smiley face on the map.Cache greetings from Ellen Sch, Norway
As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip.
Found it. Didn't have a pen on me,so didn't sign. Tool a travel bug with me. Tftc
One of my lifetime goals is to find all year 2000 caches. This one made the list. Definitely one of the easiest of the bunch to find! Thanks for placing and maintaining all these years!
There are still 112 active caches from the year 2000 in the world. I have already found 53 of them.Today *Filser1* and I were able to discover another oldie with this one. The journey from Melbourne was quick and uncomplicated. When we arrived at GZ, it was immediately clear where the "treasure" was located. We left our nicknames in the logbook and carefully camouflaged the 2000 again.T4TC, who received a ribbon from me for his age and preservation.
One of our main targets in our trip to Australia was the cache "Devil Bend". TEMBO! and I found the Cache, signed the logbook and enjoyed the cache.A fovoritpoint for this old cache ist very recommended. Thanks to The Coffee's for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
Very happy to be here today finding this geocache. I remember seing it on the map, back from home in France and thinking that if I get the professional project I was aiming for I could maybe rent a car and drive here to validate one more Jasmer month. It finally all happened and I am here today on this gravel road. By chance I parked just next to the cache and it was a quick find before any other car would pass by. Thanks for maintaining that geocache !
After looking at this one for so many years me and my brother did a tour of the east to get all the old caches that Europe doesn't have.Even though we got Nov 2000 in Sydney , this one qill add to the list. Thanks for keeping this one going all these years.Logged together with Corjam11. TFTC
Last time I visited this area as part of a training exercise for a charity walk and it was completely swamped; with people doing a fun run and water from heavy rain.Today the coast was clear and it made for a quick grab although a dubious car park nearby. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find, left it very much where we found it. We love this reservoir. Intended to kayak but forgot the paddle so geocaching it was! TFTC!
No pinejhorm to zaplatm s poplatkem pjovn. A te zpt do Melbourne a radji do blzkosti letit, odkud v podveer odltm do Tasmnie. Fuj, to nechce. A to sem netuila, e bude posunut jet 2x. Shit ! Melbourne se mm oblbenm mstem tedy nestane. Ale z tm jedin dnen odloven keky mm fakt radost.Oh, so easy found and so old cache ! I am happy and completed another month in my Jasmer. Only 3 left now. Thanks for the cache and send a FP. Greetings from Czech republic.

This is the fifth cache of my highest priority for this trip which was to fill in some dates on my ausmer/jasmer calendar. I have another three to go today I hope. I really enjoy finding these golden oldies and felt very chuffed as I headed back to the geomobile. Perfect!Devil Bend is find number 3,255 for me. A great other sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of my caching trip which started in the Mt Disappointment area and then meandered south into the Melbourne suburbs. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign.I am logging this one a couple of days late but found it on Wednesday the 6th of December 2023 and the weather was sunny but cool and pleasant. Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Paul Davis and also to Mr.Coffee for adopting it.Found with Geooh GO
Found the devil in at the bend and was pleased with the all-round best geocaching vehicle (Toyota Camry) that I rented. I used to have a company issued one of these and it was gold. That company car saw some serious off-roading due to geocaching in its time with me.Having completed my JASMER a month ago I didnt need this cache for my grid, but I am considering trying for quadruple JASMER, and also I really just love a list of older caches to seek out whenever I am travelling. TFTC
Weirdobiker came this way so we could catch up and find the last cache for her Jasmer. Such an achievement. We had to laugh at container which wasn't old and it certainly didn't look special. Lesson for today, don't be fooled by looks when something is so special. Congratulations Weirdobiker on the massive effort you have gone to to complete your Jasmer.Thank you to Paul Davis for this placement and The Coffee's for keeping it going. We added some layers for protection today.regardskbucky
Yahoo, Ive finally finished my Jasmer with this old cache. Ive left a TB and as the container was a bit disappointing for such a milestone, kbucky donated a new container to house this piece of history.
