Staying in Koroit, we did a trip to Port Fairy. I decided to start the rail trail adventure lab, and this cache was on the way. Both of us searched for quite a while, but unfortunately could not find the cache.
No luck today, searched high & low. Loved the flashing lights & the sound of an approaching train
On my way home from Portland with ConnieandRick, concentrating on Adlabs but doing a few bonus or nearby trads. Passing by this one, we stopped and quickly located the cache. My thanks to Robmc for the cache.
Doing an ad lab nearby on the way back from Portland with Muzza. This was a quick find, thanks for the cache.
Found while heading from Portland to Port Fairy on a lovely day. Thanks for the cache Robmc. I am sure that I heard a train while I was here!
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are on the move again today, finding the odd cache along our route. TFTH. LNCU.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on. SA caching foray. Travelling from Portland to Warrnambool for a few days to grab some of the local hides. After getting a great coffee at the roasters, we parked up to do some of this track. Thanks for the hideLNCU
Quick find while skateboarding for caches. Really enjoyed the lights and sounds. Had a good laugh. TFTC.
Found this with gridge98 on our road trip to Victoria. We took the great ocean road to Warrnambool, then to Ballarat and Halls Gap. Fantastic trip away over 5 days. Thanks for the cache!
A nice walk along the trail to find these few cache here.courtneyrose_ and I headed away to Victoria for a 5 day trip for me to partake in the Ballarat Marathon. Along the way we made our way to the great ocean road to explore the area, after both of us had not been there for many years. We then headed to Ballarat for 2 nights before heading to Halls Gap for a scenic experience for the night before making our way back to home to Adelaide. Thanks for the cache.
A late afternoon find after a day birding at Yambuk and Portland. The search took a few minutes but was successful in the end. And the lights do flash! Thanks to Robmc for the cache.
Easy find on my walk along the rail trail. Port Fairy is a lovely place for a holiday! Had a giggle to myself as the lights went off and I quickly turned around looking for a train Cache found, signed and replaced. TFTC
Was here earlier this morning while doing the Port Fairy part of the rail trail Adventure Lab.On our earlier visit the lights were flashing and the sound effects were happening. When we returned to ride the rail trail we couldn't get the sound to activate but we did get the lights flashing. Guess there must be a sensor somewhere.Great location. Thanks for a quick find.
We were in Portland for a few days visiting dad and thought that we would break up the monotony and head to Warrnambool to find some caches.Dad can't walk too far anymore but it seemed a shame to waste such a lovely day so Diane jumped out to walk down the rail trail to finish the ad lab and hopefully grab the trads as well.It was a great walk that I really enjoyed with a variety of hides and informative story boards,All four I looked for were found and our name has been added to the logs. The cache was found in a logical location, the lights did start to flash just as I was about to return it.Thanks Robmc for the cache.
So interesting to find this old train light here Thanks for bringing us here

It was early afternoon on the Friday of the Folkie weekend and with a bit of time up our sleeves Suscoe headed out to find a few caches. The PF2WRT was the target and Suscoe enjoyed the cycling. Thanks to Robmc for this hide.A pleasant afternoon for a cycle.Suscoe loves how this location provides a sound scape
We checked into our accommodation, drove into town and had an excellent Thai meal and then I came out for some evening caching. Here for the AdLab so I grabbed this at the same time. No trains tonight.TFTC
A beautiful day to visit Port Fairy. While Mr M went fishing Lady M hopped on the bike and went cycling. Lots of muggles along the trail, all being very helpful and enquiring after my welfare while I was stopped,Seemed to take forever here - stupid gunzels were fascinated by the light and sound show and wouldn't move along. Thanks for adding the trail Robmc
Out and about caching in The worlds most liveable community of Port Fairy. Got this one fairly easily while walking on the rail trail. TFTC!!
The second find in what is a beautiful trail. The noise activated feature took me by surprise. tftc
We have arrived in PF for our annual holiday and there are more caches since last year, Woohoo! Thanks Robmc. Today we walked some of the rail trail and found this cache along the way. This one gave us a fright when the noise appeared after we had been looking for the cache for a while. TFTC
On a hot and windy day we thought it would be a good idea to ride to Koroit for lunch and of course do the rail trail on the way, alas we didnt count on the head wind on the way there and the southerly change while we were eating at Noodledoof and had a head wind all the way back, we did stop at the signal and soon had the cache in hand, thanks for placing this series
Over today with our bikes to enjoy a ride along this great rail trail. Surprising to see how many people are out using it today, even though it is a bit windy. This was a fun hide. Found after a short search but feel it deserves a fav. Thanks The Morris for placing this cache for us to find.
I cycled the trail here for about 5kms had planned to go further but it was blowing a gale. Rode out to the furtherest cache and then made the finds on the windy way back. All caches found in good condition, thanks to the various owners for adding to this rail trail, very enjoyable. Exactly where I would have hidden it, TFTC
Found with hevwalker after a lovely walk along the rail trail. Very interesting information along the way. TFTC. The lights flashed we even had the sound of the train, which no matter how we tried couldn't recreate for a video.
scramping & I were visiting Warrnambool for a 4-day long weekend. This afternoon was the perfect weather to travel to Port Fairy to collect a few caches. We walked to the final cache in this section before working our way back as the phone was getting low in batteries and the Adventure Lab Cache needed to be done on the phone.Anyway the walk was lovely. As we were searching for the cache, the lights & sounds of the crossing started. We don't exactly know how that happened. There were no trains coming. We found the cache, signed the logbook and placed back as found.TFTC Robmc
15/11/2023 5:06:00 PMI spent a full day driving around South West Victoria, hiding a couple of caches visiting a lot of cemeteries and walking a short section of the rail trail near Port Fairy. In all an enjoyable day out. Just a few finds along the rail trail as I neared home after a big clockwise loop, lots of dog walkers and running out at this time of day unfortunately. All caches were quickly located and in good order. Thanks RobmcFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
