Down at the mega with some of the usual suspects. We had spent a fair bit of time looking at targets and puzzles. Plenty of mint times and a good assortment of chocolates. Like all boxes of chocolates there are the yummy ones you go for first and these are typically good D's or T's or both. It looks like the mint tins gave way to a gum can as the idea has spread. No issues with the puzzle but it took along time to spot the hide as the coo-ords seemed a bit out. It wasn't until we remembered the CO is from north and made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache Googlehihihi!

I worked extremely hard for this one! Firstly the puzzle was another collaboration from two people who like to make you think! Definitely needed some help to get through it.Then once at GZ I climbed to the very top of THREE different trees! I originally climbed two trees & gave up, we actually left and went to do another cache. But then we came back later and I climbed a THIRD tree and found the cache..... phew! I believe the coordinates are quite some distance out, as the first two trees I climbed were closer to the coordinates than the third one wase. Oh well, we got there in the end! I am glad I was the one up the tree too, because the rest of the crew were getting peppered with falling acorns! They were dropping quite rapidly! We all had a good laugh about that. Thanks GHHH and EE!

Today I managed to do a few Adventure lab caches and then take a hike to an old cache, well it is Canberra's first. I had some fun with Jacs, Gcoven and Rocket for the morning treks. It was nice to have a quieter day as the amount of tree climbs and walking was starting to take its toll, I could sense the tide in my body picking up earlier each day. Having said that I still got in a few good caches, went on a walk along with a few more tree climbs. The walk around to this old cache did incorporate a few extra caches of the area. Including the adventure lab which was nice, an earth cache a couple of trads and a couple of puzzle caches. Yes a nice walk around and some fantastic views today. Thanks to all the CO's for the caches placed around here. we signed the logs and returned all as found.

Today we went chasing Roos and got a leg or 2 but have to return again. Then it was off to the MEGA Wedding which turned out great .Now it's of caching with some young active young cachers. Arrived at this GZ, wrong tree, try another and wrong tree then discovered that GZ was about 12 + mtrs out.Eventually had the cache and signed by all before replacing as found and off to safety as the acorn nuts were dropping everywhere. Tree climbing completed without damage to cache or persons. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. #7603 Good Friday cruising Canberra with Mighty Minions in pursuit of more solved puzzles and exotic DTs A cool start to the day, looks to be a ripper for caching We had some time before a tree climbing rendezvous, so did another climb.... We arrived, checked out the spot, only to be overtaken by a speeding gridge, or was it a monkey - in any case it was a primate who climbs faster than we do! We put our webbing harnesses on and went up to the cache, really not needed here, but good practice. Thanks for the cache!

While FFLL#2 was out hiking FFLL#1 ended up going for a spot of caching with ALL7 and 63Roos.A fun morning out and about before it got too hot and we decided to call it a day. This one took a bit of a search until I did a PAF and worked out I had fat fingers on one of the numbers which made a heap of a difference. Now in the correct place the cache was soon spotted and TOTT was dispatched for a safer journey. Thanks for the hide and puzzle Googlehihihi

#21902 @1855Solved this a few weeks ago. It was definitely a team effort, to prise our way through the layers. At GZ the cache was soon spied from the ground (after reading previous logs). With my son watching on, I carefully made my way up and signed the log. Then carefully made my way back down, with no issues. TFTC.

Took me a while to get around to this puzzle, but when I did, I enjoyed it. Save for a few red herrings (which am now getting better at spotting), the puzzle came together nicely. I needed some confirmation and a bit of a nudge from a previous finder, but not much. I really liked construction of the last layer, although one of the pieces was ambiguous, as it has different versions. I do know that Cache Sleuth has the right version. Took a while to spot the right tree, as I seemed to be 10-15m out. Got some guidance from previous climbers. No problem once I spotted it from the ground. TFTC Ghhh. A well-constructed puzzle and a nice climb, so have a fave.

I spent a lot of time on the puzzle. After two or three hours, I made some progress. I had inched forward a small amount. I watched a Mr. Beast video and wondered if that would help. I noted some interesting things about the numbers in the description that didn't help at all. I distracted myself with making a few puzzles and solving some Adelaide puzzles, then came back to this. I was kind of working together with some others on this, but it was a very haphazard arrangement. From time to time the teamwork paid off, and I was able to progress thanks to the work of others. Eventually I was looking at something that almost sent me into madness. I had to look away lest I turn big and green and rip my shirt to shreds, with no Natasha Romanov nearby to stop me. Thanks to Fox in Jox for his help with that.Today I was driving home from Belco, and decided to make a little detour to grab this cache. The climb was doable for someone of my ability. I quite enjoyed it. It took several minutes, but I reached cache level and signed the log. Good feeling, that. Thanks to the dynamic duo of ETET and GHHH for challenging my brain and brawn again. Thanks for introducing me to Jimmy, whose chocolate bars are massively overpriced but whose videos seem rather enjoyable.

Yet another doozy of a puzzle....but I like it!Got stuck overthinking (yet again) and still couldn't get it with a hint from the CO,After more conversations with our puzzle group, we finally got the break-through...phew!Glad to head out and find this one today.

A very tricky set of layers here - I would not have made it to the end without help from the extended team. Lots of trees neat GZ that warranted exploring before the hide was discovered. Thanks, Googlehihihi.

14-Feb-24
A clever puzzle that was well above my pay grade but thankfully with the combined technical skills of mountainsbeyond, MinnieK, Isopeda and another I made it all the way to GZ. Many thanks to SocialClimber for climbing so many trees with me (and four others) before we finally found the 'GZ' tree. Good exercise - right? SocialClimber made the final climb which just had to be the scratchiest and 'hardest' tree of them all. A favourite point for the solid learnings. TFTC Googlehihihi and EthisEthat!

Another gum can? It's not possible! I'll be brutally honest, I have no idea how far the rabbithole of this puzzle goes, I expect quite far. Since this one is so near my location, I decided to come and sign it today. A nice easy climb and soon had the logbook signed. TFTC Googlehihihi! Neat!

[FTF] at 4:50 pm. We definitely put in the hard yards (and much time) required to solve this one. However, the puzzle is a very well constructed one, and all the layers are neatly woven together. There are red herrings (like any good puzzle), and we fell for a fair few of them, but eventually we saw through the schools of misleading fish and had some good looking coordinates in hand. The solution when you have it is unambiguous, and thus the lack of a checker is no issue. It has been pleasing to watch the conundrum-crafting skills of GHHH and EE develop, with some well thought out mysteries resulting. Also like any other good puzzle, this riddle has the feature of satisfying aha! moments throughout. It was a pleasure to solve. To those reading this who may have trepidations about tackling this enigma, Id say that there are breadcrumbs throughout to send you on your way. It is worth every part of the D rating, but by carefully examining each part of each stage, you will find what you need to proceed. With the puzzle sorted earlier today, we made plans to make tracks to GZ. It was a familiar spot, having found a few other hides near here, including some archived ones we remember fondly. A nice location, with good shade on this hot (30+) day. Solid, reliable terrain to tackle too, slowly but surely. The reward of a blank log in a pristine, untouched gum can was a real treat. Thanks Googlehihihi and EthisEthat for this one. A favourite for an excellent brain and body workout. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community.
