Logs
The coords didn't seem too accurate with this one. But we had an idea where we wanted to look and the water was low so we headed over and made a quick find up the hill. TFTC!
It took a PAF to turn up, a pity the log was soaked, as I couldn't sign it. Thanks.
Luckily we had a younger member of our group who was able to climb the slope with lots of encouragement from us!!! TFTC
Came to the area for the new one and decided to pick up a few more. Had to use the hint as the co ords seemed well out. A bit of looking before spotting the find. We completed the signing duties and re hidTFTC
Crossed the creek ok but decided to come back when everything drys up a bit.
This took a while and we had to resort to PAF. Some people posted basic concrete rev I fence but not enough ti find. Found quickly after a PAF, bordering private property. TFTC
#10114 (4 of 5 today)Unfortunately, I'm busy later today and can't make the GCNSW Christmas Party - I've lost yet another chance to lose the mint tin toss!So I headed out in the morning to grab some finds. I decided on the first five of the *Burnt Bridge Creek* series. Those will do nicely! What's even better was I found all five without needing to resort to a PAF - although I was sorely tempted once or twice.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Having got no joy from the hints so far, I didn't even look at this one - so you can guess at my approach. Not too bad, and didn't need to trespass. The soil underfoot was pretty spongy, though. And the bush turkey was friendly enough as I skirted the enormous nest.So once I had 1 or 2 metres, I looked around for likely spots. Sooooo many!Kept checking and then tried the hint and previous logs. Whoops. Ah, widen the search area. One spot had seemed plausible, so tried there first. No, not there - but right next to it... Gotcha!Signed, re[alced and continued via a creek crossing. My final step on this side was on a slippery patch and I only just saved myself. Glad I hadn't hit that after a hop from the other side. One to go.SLTNLNTFTC
Crossed the river and approached the suggested GZ, but had no luck. Too many 'red herrings', or, also, called junk lying around.
We searched for a while, then resorted to PAF. Then it was sighted hidden almost under our feet. TFTC
Logging a few weeks after our pleasant walk along Burnt Bridge Creek. Nope, no luck for us and we did give it a good go searching up and down and wide. We'll come back another day since this is such a nice little walk. Cheers... Gaztek
Once again I'd read past logs and knew I had to cross the creek so was on the lookout for a suitable spot. With that found I scaled the slope, and was glad geodog was not here. With the rain overnight this area was slippery. I searched for quite a long time and found 3 decoy cache containers, dumped by locals or washed down the creek in storms. I checked lots and lots of possible hidey holes with the help of the local Brush Turkey which sort of followed me and scratched around. He didn't find anything either.I'd just about decided this might be a dnf but Just in case I widened my search area and then found the cache quickly. TFTC # 5675
Got ready for a doctors appointment this morning only to realise that it wasn't until tomorrow so I decided that some caching might be what the doctor would prescibe. This new PT looked like it might be fun and it was. Starting at #1 I made my way through to #5.After finding a suitable place to cross over, which happened to be opposite gz I scampered up the bank and began methodically searching all the possible hiding spots. After a lengthy search I was about to dnf when I looked down and realised that I was almost standing on the cache. A nice container in a nice hidey hole. TFTC DajakeBoy
FTF @ 10:51 am 13/11/2023.We noticed a whole bunch of local caches being published late yesterday afternoon, but it was too late for us to head out caching, having only just returned home from a weekend caching holiday at Camden, with a stop-off at Sydney Olympic Park for the Geocaching NSW GIFF Event. The caches were all still unfound this morning so, after geoson#2 drop-off duties, we grabbed the geocaching gear and headed off to try our luck. Started with the Burnt Bridge Creek series, then crossed the Spit Bridge to Beauty Point for the street library cache, and finished off on the cliffs at Curl Curl for one of the GHHH MultiCaches. Ran out of time for the other GHHH MultiCache, as we had to return home to give geoson#1 a lift to work, so that one will have to wait for another day. This was the 6th of 8 finds, and 6th of 8 FTFs ( a FTF bonanza ! ), for today. We stopped briefly at this one and had a look, but failed to find it quickly, so left it for a better (and potentially longer) look on the return walk back to the geomobile. And here we are back again, crossing over the creek and arriving at GZ for another look. With the FTF rush for the other caches in the series now over, we searched everything at and around GZ a little more carefully this time, and it wasn't too long before we uncovered the hide and had CIH. Opened up the container to find yet another blank log, which was duly signed as FTF, and then replaced the nice high quality cache container as it had been found. TNLN.TFTC, and the series, DaJakeBoy. It was a enjoyable walk along the creek, and a FTF bonanza for us, so we're dropping a Favourite point on this one to represent the series.Find #6480
