Down from Whangarei to visit family for a few days and most importantly, to meet our new grand daughter. It is also an opportunity to grab some caches, especially as I have none within 50 km from home that I haven't already found...Lovely weather this morning, albiet a bit cool and windy, but ideal to go for a drive and a walk nearby to collect some caches. Worked out the numbers at the waypoint, (make sure to read the cache page properly...!!) and then a short walk to a nice quick find at GZ. Signed and replaced as found. TFTC

Today is the day to find a few caches in South New Brighton. It is a warm overcast day and as it's early, not much wind. The tide is out so the estuary looks a bit empty. I'm sure it will be grand when the tide is in, and the many benches attest to this.Like other cachers, PQ baffled me for a bit and I was glad that previous logs provided the clue. A short walk to the cache, and another smily.

Numbers sorted easily enough. Though I did need to read some logs to get clarification on E. Bit of an awkward place to cache. Fortunately a quick find with a super obvious covering item. Thanks for placing!

#24146. We had a reasonable amount of time today, so decide to head to South Brighton to find a few caches, When I got to GZ I was wondering which hint object to scrutinise, when I spotted a likely covering object. I went over and lifted that up, and there was the cache! TFTC.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a warm but blustery Sunday afternoon drive to Southshore and South Brighton, where there was a build up of unfound caches. These obviously needed our attention .I had worked out the final co-ords when this cache was first published so we just had to make the short walk to GZ. I received a text message just as we got close, so let SW do the search and retrieval while I dealt to the text. First find for September 2024! TFTC.

#4 with the 4y/o. Cheers!

Nice quick multi. I was extra careful not to ramble too loudly in the bushes, given the time of day. TFTC!!

Last time I was up in Christchurch I took a photo of what was needed and sorted out the hide coordinates once I got home. Today I was back in the general area and with it been a dot day for multi's I made a bee line for GZ. Somehow it didn't show up in my PQ so I manually put the coordinates into my Garmin. I found the signal much steadier than on my phone, probably due to the vegetation cover and quickly homed into one particular hint object. Had to widen my search somewhat and found it tucked in under a different species to what I was expecting. Thanks for the nice short walk which I explored a bit more.

21-Jul-24
It was convenient that we could park in front of the bus stop and do the sums in the warmth of the car, before heading to the final and a quick find and sign. TFTC!

12-Jul-24
Had a slight failure to read the instructions and thus read the numbers in the wrong direction. Once we sorted that out, nice easy find Smile. Tftc

Saturday caching adventure. Thanks for the hide.

I came here last week but I came up with the final and it was raining a lot. I got the coordinates sorted at home and returned today and made a quick find. It was raining again but not as much as last time. TFTH

Nice simple multi puzzle leading to a quick find. Thanks.

Thought I was going to have to go back to get my calculator, couldn't get East to work until I read some previous logs. Another case where I should really read the cache page properly... easy find at the final which was quicker than the solve, lol TFTC

Very fun cache thanks

Man this one was harder than it should have been. The East coordinates had me beat until I read a previous log from someone who had the same issue. QR is the first tow numbers as they read (not added together). Once I figured that out it was a quick find at GZ. TFTC

18:41Found on a dog walk.Second day back from Australia, still recovering from all the caching I did there So now just to do one quick and easy multi, while walking the doggo.Numbers were easily read, and once I also thoroughly read the description to know in what order I needed to read the numbers, math worked and the final coordinates revealed themselves.Quick and easy retrieval at GZ.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, NZ_B!#10695

Nice quick multi to keep up the numbers. A bit muggy. Time for a nap.

06-Feb-24
Solved this one at home then came out for a bike ride today to fill in a multi dot day. A nice quick find in an obvious spot, although I did check a few other spots first when I hadn't quite gone far enough. Thanks so much for the multi, I've got a lot of dot days to fill and so every cache is appreciated!

A nice quick find. It pays to read the cache page! UP not down. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are out and about around Christchurch today. A nice day for a wander.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.

Very easy. Especially if you follow the instructions! Thank you NZ_B

Was glad I was with warfi because I was quite confused. Thanks for the fun.

Got ourselves a bit tangled up with numbers, but got there in the end. A nice little stroll and found it after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing. Thanks for the fun

A summertime trip to the South Island, what could be better. Day three, and having flown to Christchurch and then driven to Timaru on day one, and cached around Timaru on day two, my travels today have me back up to Christchurch tonight to see a band play, and then up to Kaikoura for a couple of nights to see the same band play again. Along the way I'll be looking for Geocaches, and here's one I found. I often struggle with interpreting the requirements of a multi (also, why do CO's never include a checker with a multi , it is allowed you know). So I was pleasantly surprised when everything worked perfectly for this one. Partly, I think, because I diligently read the cache description, including the bit about reading the numbers in an un-usual way - who does that? Anyway, coordinates calculated and cache found, safe and well. --- Thanks to NZ_B for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. Stood a long while at the bus stop not being able to make any sense of the East numbers - eventually headed off in frustration to where the geosense said the final would be and started checking the hint objects, then had an idea of one last thing I could try with the cords - that worked and was the spot I was about to check next. I think it might be clearer to say that QR = (1st and 2nd number put together like AB, NOT added or multiplied) + 20

We need a multi today for a challenge we are attempting. Came after the Sunrise Event at the Pier which had a great turn out. Got the info, did the maths and then signed the log. Thanks for this multi and the cache NZ_B.

That Darn Bear said I should do this, mostly because I would get into trouble with the CO if I didn't. I got into trouble anyway. The bear stayed in the car and made me get all the figures and do the math. First I had too many digits. Then the CO tried to mess with me by reading the numbers in reverse order (like, who would do that? Beside math teachers, I mean). Then I can't do basic math. At least once I got the coords to agree with the checksums the find was pretty straight forward. The bear said it would be quick and easy. Yeah, nah.I spent Christmas in Palmerston North, and New Year's will be at work, leaving this gap to visit a friend in Christchurch. Rainy today. Annoying. It's summer, for Pete's sake!

The cache was a quick find once Busypaws and I had the correct numbers. I have worked with figures all my life and managed to misread one of the instructions

24-Dec-23
Out with Lytteltonwitch to find a multi today. Roads surprisingly quiet for Xmas Eve. Maybe everyone is at the Malls. Made hard work of East figures. Duh. Felt really silly when a helpful shove was given. However, happy to find a multicache today. Oh so many to obtain! TFTC

14-Dec-23
Thanks for hiding this cache NZ_B I appreciate it. I now have 54 dot multi days thanks to your hide. I still think it will take me longer than a year to complete I found this on a wee detour on the way to get some groceries .

14-Dec-23
That was a near thing. At 9:30 I realized today was a multi dot day. So now I find myself at 10pm in Southshore scrambling around in the dark. And for good measure there as a random breath test unit on way into South Brighton.

Post haircut caching trip for the day's multi. The weather is a bit squally but fortunately no problems getting the numbers and accessing the cache. Tjanks, NZ_B.#10107

03-Dec-23
Worked out the numbers at home so went straight to the cache. It was a quick find and then we enjoyed a walk on the beach. TFTC.

Mr16 is learning to drive so we came out here for a target. Quickly calculated and the final found. Thanks.

02-Dec-23
Quick solve and here. Thanks

We found the numbers and tracked the little devil down. Met a local teenager taking her dog for a walk and had a little lesson on the spot. She had heard about geocaching , but never met anyone who was actually a cacher!! Then next minute we meet a home owner who had just returned in his flash camper!! So we had another little lesson and a chat. Quite an interesting afternoon so thank you Mr-B a fav from us.

Nice to see a couple of new multicaches published. Thank you NZ_B. As today was another of my multicache challenge dot-days I decided to do a cyclocache ride from Spenser Park down through the forest to sign off this new cache. After a pleasant 41 minute ride I stopped just 3m from GZ. The cache was quickly located but was sans its lid. The lid was located back in the hidy hole. There is a problem with this cache - the log is longer than the depth of the container, and the log is too fat to fold smaller. so the lid won't fit back on. Sad. Also the container size is actually a "Micro" and not a "Small" in GC's sizing..

An easy puzzle and a quick find. TFTC

Joint {FTF} with MomsOB and Grandson Ollie @ 6:45PMOur oldest daughter and grandson are visiting from Wellington for a few days. Today we had been to see the views up the Summit Road and then headed down into Sumner where we caught some waves and built sandcastles. I had seen the notifications for all the new caches come in about an hour after publish time, but disregarded them for family time.Upon leaving Sumner I thought I would quickly check that all the caches had been found, and was surprised to find this one was still sitting there waiting. Our daughter had never found a FTF so she was super keen.It took longer to drive to the posted coordinates from Sumner than it did to gather the information and find the cache. A nice quick multi. Thanks NZ_B for setting this one up.
