Logs
Followed some tracks as I made my way around from Fried Rice with Wontons. At GZ, I walked right by the cache as I decided the T4 rating meant it was higher. After an unsuccessful search up top, I descended and saw the cache poking it's little face out at me. GR8. TFTC wshoeii
Came down the sideline of the girl guides building, leading to 160 metres of getting down each level to walk along the rocks in the creek to gz. Quick find of cache. Signed and replaced. Tftc
Yet more bush-bashing in its purest form. I was beginning to think that I would rather have been heading out to Cessnock for the other event than making my way through scratchy undergrowth. Eventually, my GPSr led me to a bit of a burnt-out tree stump. However, nothing resembling a cache container was presenting itself. When the others caught up with me they also converged on this area, close to the little creek. After reading a few logs of previous finders we realised that this couldn't be the right spot, and that we would have to cross over the creek and head up towards the rockface on the other side. It was the only logical place that matched a hint from a previous finder. This did seem a bit at odds with our GPSr, but considering the physical location, there was bound to be a bit of signal bounce.Fortunately, I checked the correct crevice and made the find. As *bisygisy* mentioned, there are lots of ferns all over, and a "crevice in the rock face" is a pretty ubiquitous feature here. Anyway, by the time we had signed the log and returned the container, my GPSr was saying only 3 metres to go. Thus, it had settled and now the co-ords seemed rather good, considering the proximity of the ledge above us.It looks like something has tried to nibble its way into the container. The integrity of the contain has been breached, and water might seep into it at some stage. Right now the inside was dry, but who knows what the future holds.
Found with Stefanoodle and gavingo4. Without a prior hint this would have been. The cave is on the other side. Ferns are everywhere near my place and they are here as well as here. Very close to the major overhang. TFTC.
Well love the location - beautiful spot. Wouldnt have found this without the hints left by previous finders. Again, Gps is dodgy!!! Left a tb and picked one up. Tftc
Another long search for the group to uncover the nasty hide. Think between the overhangs. TFTC.
Meet up for breakfast with Team Canary, Brewmaker and Martin Cousins. It appears we didnt eat enough as we went hunting food caches. A good but at times strenuous bush bash that the pedometers said was not that far or hard. Some tough hides and even a wallaby spotted. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
OCW with Team Canary, Martin Cousins, and bella at waggy. After grabbing some breakfast in Springwood, we decided we needed more sustenance in the bush and a really decent bush bash, too! This took way too much time without a hint, so a PAF to the CO finally narrowed it down to a gap in the ledge, behind a fern. TFTC
After dinner, we sorted our appetites to fried green tomatoes in which I sincerely love this combination of D/T for a certain challenge, Im required for the CC. This one took an eternity to find, even with four on the case. Id place a hint for the strugglers like us, thanks
Nice challenge with my phones GPS sending me all over. Finally got another [FTF] at 17:05, nine hours since published. Had to head to work after those new caches were announced in this area, so was surprised to see not yet discovered.Signed log with TBs Canadian Flag, Pittiplatsc, Corona Express Cruise Ship, USA Bear, Technology Tag and Manon Ozzieland in tow. Left behind TB Bierkrug for the next geocacher.
