TFTC! 5 November 2024 3:45:55pm 8725 thanks to deanside for the cache! Had the cache solved and in the area today and came by and picked up the cache!
Nice multi ..way point 1 was interesting I would like to see it repaired...by initial door count was slightly off . Tiz13 taking things too literally again and so although the checksum checked I wasn't 100% confident re GZ and failed to look at the attributes therefore almost caused a mini avalanche..doh lol...after reading a few logs something clicked and there is was in the next place I looked
First multi that Ive done in a while and Ive got to say, I really do enjoy this style of cache. After finding the cache at GZ, log was signed and cache replaced to its resting place.TFTC
Googled the pub to get answers off to locate the cache loved the cache thanks for a great multi TFTC
What a fabulous multi!!!! Normally dont like them but the end prize was great fave point from me tftc
Googled a photo of the pub no worries, got our answers required then headed to find cache. Loved this one. Found Tftc
Visiting family in Sunbury, I made sure that we had time to check out a few caches on the way. I had looked at this cache for a long time, and decided that today was the day to attack it. At WP1 I was unsure of one of the answers, so I proceeded to WP2, where things were more definitive. I did some calculations for potential locations, and the checksum came in very handy. Once I was sure I had the right location, we headed to GZ where the very cute cache container was retrieved with the aid of an improvised tool.
I remember when this pub went by the wayside. We've had this solved for quite a while now and Crackers decided today was the day after visiting the old man after work for the day after Father's Day.Rolled up on site, had a look in the likely spots with no luck, then eventually spotted the prize.Luckily a nearby TOTT was on offer and the find was made. Thanks deanside for the cache.Wonder if the old pub will ever resurface?
Worked out two weeks ago after CITO in Sunbury.Came back after The Great Victoria Cache Crawl this morning. Thanks for place the cache here.
Over the weekend, we went on a Cache Crawl from Sunbury to Echuca, and then to Seymour. We stopped in Riddells Creek for an overnight stay. The cache was in great condition when we found it. Thanks to deanside for placing it!
Found while on way to the Great Victoria Cache Crawl event at Riddells Creek. deanside, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Having done several Used to be a Church caches in SA, I found this a novel twist to the theme. I remember driving past this pub when the highway used to pass by here. Loved the location and hide at GZ too. Worth a favourite point!
---PLEASE NOTE: Building is being renovated. It is possible to google the answers and glean the answers in the mean time. There are many pictures from many angles.---
Collected the clues a while back, but managed to drive by only today. Good size of the container!
Enjoyed this one love the cache You will have to change the start of this one as the old pub is in the middle of being demolished i googled the pub to get a photo of it to get my answers
Enjoyed this one love the cache Ypu will have to change the start of this one as the old pub is in the middle of being demolished i googled the pub and got a photo of the pub to work out my answers
13722 Located by baby&Mrs gopher in company with Team Ladava at1330. Ian and Sandra had already started this cache some time ago. It was envisaged that a TOTT was required to get to sign the log sheet so they had waited for the gophers to visit and use their TOTT. Regathered all the numbers and off to GZ. It turned out the cache holder was within reaching height SL Tnx deanside.
6 July 2024 3:43pmFound with catnap777 as we took on a personal challenge to find as many multi caches as we could this day. This was our last multi in a day of multi multis.A nicely set out multi sending us to a rather random spot with a cache found more easily than expected, not at intended hight we are sure. No TOTT required. This keeps happening to the tree fishing cache we helped place too. TFTC deanside. We loved the research gone into this one. [^]
6 July 2024 10:48 Well, what an awesome little mult series this is.Well set out, very interesting areas to visit, and interesting containers and D/T ranges.A whole heap of fun which is not normally what you associate with multicaches. These multicaches you have created Abe Stainer aka deanside are a game changer.Top marks. I have used a generic for the one's we have found, and given a favourite point here and there. Can't wait to do the rest.
09:09I know a watched pot never boils, but someone probably should have been watching the iron pot.A slight detour on the way to a possum box workshop. Thanks, deanside. One of the few times I could say, "Hey, Rod..." and point to the cache right near him.#8906
Dropped in for a beer on the way to the Wildlife Nestbox Workshop at Mooroobool Landcare Network Nursery in Glenmore. *(Not geocaching related)*Some nice lookin stonework in there on the back wall.Cheers deanside.#0004 17/Feb/2024#0001 08/Jun/2024
Grabbed a tool from waypoint 2 based on what I had read, but was barking up the wrong tree. Found quickly and signed. TftcDaily streak: 493
Fltf. Thank you check sum. Great cache container. Took a swig and I was off my way.
The checksums were a great help when I was doubting myself at WP1. It took a bit of doing for this shorty to retrieve the container. I had a tool but the arthritis in my hand is playing up today makjng me even more awkward than usual Left a pathtag. TFTC
After attending a nearby event, I teamed up with GT37 and Papi4506 to find a few caches in the area.Exploring and caching an area with friends makes for a great day out. We had collected LetThemEatCache nearby and the four of us with Papi's keen eyes soon had the cache in hand. Thanks Abe Stainer for placing this Multi-cache to enhance the game board and add to our enjoyment.
Continuing on from a cache down the road, the impromptu group of micaparamedic, Papi4506, Geoturtle37 and myself headed to GZ with trusty TOTT in hand. A spindly old tree made the retrieval a little tricky, but Papi showed us how it's done. This has the potential to be a fascinating series. During the gold rush era Im sure there mustve been a pub on every corner, so thered be LOTS of disused and abandoned sites in this area alone! Thanks deanside for coming up with and placing this multi. Looking forward to many more!! Signed LetThemEatCache or LTEC as space would allow. Cache on *Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Explore. Dream. Micaparamedic, Papi4506 and I had caught up with LetThemEatCache and headed off to find this cache which we had solved earlier. I am sure I have eaten at the pub often but obviously quite some time ago. I used to visit Bulla, Holden and Sunbury a lot to do family history research. This could be a huge series as there are so many abandoned pubs. We saw one recently that is now a house. Looking forward to watching what is on the horizon. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly located and after retrieving a TOTT to make it a little easier, we soon had the log book signed. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy.
By the time we got here, there was only Micaparamedic, GT37 and myself. Having met another cacher at the last cache we found, we all headed up to this one. We had already done what was needed and it didn't take long at all to make the find. Great themed container. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Find number 12831 at 3:07:17pm on Saturday the 13 January 2024Travelled over to Sunbury to attend an event and to grab a few local geocaches whilst in the area. Stopped to have lunch at the Ball Court Hotel as well, very nice meals. Finished up with a total of twenty one smilies and really needed a nap by the time I got home.Decoded the clues and headed for the hide where it was lucky I had the right tool for the job in the back of the geoVehicle Thanks for the checksums.**Thanks for placing this cache deanside**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. I'm always impartial to a pub when it's got a cold beer on tap (or even in the fridge) waiting for you inside. This one has an amazing history and alas no longer has that coldie waiting. Who knows, with the importance of this classic establishment, one day the cold beer may flow again.Logging as a beta tester this time.[^] May there be many more in this series..... Noted we had a palindromic find here today #22,722!!!We went across to Diggers Rest after the Event at the Sunbury Nook this morning. For the first time we decided to bring our poor old black Labrador, Portia along. So we decided to take the car that, at 14 years old, she can still jump into with her ailing hind quarters. She loved the event, and car ride as always. It was quick and easy to obtain the numbers at both way points , convert the co ordinates and drive a bit further to GZ.Mrs Riddell stayed put in the car with Portia. It was only 22m away and Mr Riddell was back fairly quickly as he was unable to retrieve the cache.. need to go home and get a special tool, which, of course was in the caching car at home! Dratt!!! So after a quick trip home to grab the necessary tool, we had the nice, cute, little cache container in hand. TFTC.. should have read the attributes first as we changed the car for caching and didnt even think about maybe needing a special tool.!!!NOTE: ensure the lid is replaced properly and snug.More information on the pub is available here: http://images.heritage.vic.gov.au/attachment/48204 and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diggers_Rest_Hotel
The previous day Donutholes notified me that he had a day free. So we made plans the following day to grab a few caches around Sunbury.Who knew it was going to be 36, but it added to the days caching entertainment. We noticed that this cache hadnt been found yet, after being published the day before. We made it our first target of the day. We worked through the numbers to get possible coords.Arriving at GZ we were happy to see the cache and find a blank log for [FTF].Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the multi cache Deanside?? #7,743
AusFox and I decided to meet up and cache the area to collect a bunch of Adlabs, trads and multis. The temperature was sitting at a nice 35 degrees but that didn't stop us... Just slowed us down a little :pAusFox and I were very happy to see this cache had the FTF up for grabs so we made our way here first to check it out. Not going to lie, this took as way long than expected and should have just gone with the first thing we had done.Very happy to get the joint [FTF] here. Thank you for placing this hide for us to all enjoy.A wise man once said "Do whatever sprinkles your Donut"
STF I saw this one pop up yesterday in my inbox and it was a Nah Yeh Nah Yeh moment and the Nah won so I saved it for on the way home from work today.I remember having a beer there a few times and have driven past the shell of it numerous times in all of my adventures.I saw a film clip on Facebook last year about the festival and the police presence at the pub carting festival goers away. Stopped at the pub and soon counted what was required then onto the tombstone and did the same.I worked out GZ and thought OK its there so I rechecked my calculations got the same answer so off I went.Soon spotted the cache and soon added my name to the clever log.A fav goes out to you for the cache. Thanks Abe Stainer & deanside TFTMC
