On a road trip together with -moge-; across New Zealand; from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island; up, down, right, left ... So much to see, so much to experience. So many great, and sometimes old, caches! But I can hardly keep up with the logging. Far too exhausted from all the experiences. I am sorry that it will now be a standardized log for some founds.I didn't saw a dolphin at this spot but saw a few at the Pancake Rocks and one even jumping through the high waves as we went with the freely from Bluff to Stewart Island. And I would claim the hole Stewart Island as my favorite place. Answers were send by -moge- a few days ago.

Hello Deepdiggingmole,Another day, another Cache.Together with Dr Donna travelling through New Zealand. We arrived at Auckland Airport and made our way up north. After visiting Cape Reinga we went on our way South to reach Stewart Island with stops in many different Citys all over the country. Of course we have an open eye for nice Caches but take what we can get. Today we came across your Cache and took pictures for Virtual. Its great how many nice spots we are able to discover through our journey and how many of them we only See because of Geocaching! One of the greatest spots in New Zealand for me is Cape Reinga, it has a speciale feeling up there... Thanks for bringing us to this place and takeing care for the geocache.

Answers sent to CO and correct so can log. We are on a trip to Kaikoura for the night. We're supposed to be 4x4 into the Clarence tomorrow but cancelled as too dangerous on clay track with stormy rain. Lovely spot here, easy parking. No dolphins or seals here today. Photo taken with our phone used to geocache.Great place for a Virtual cache thanks Deepdiggingmole.

12-Nov-24
Glorious weather. Just a few seals playing around.Hard to say my favourite place as so many. Anywhere with penguins usually. Though Rapa Nui is probably close.

29-Oct-24
Briefly read the virtual and hoped to see dolphins but none today. Very interesting sky, though. Photo attached has a family member in it, our geovan, Pearl. Answers sent to co. Thanks for the virtual.

We are on our way north after attending the Mega in Dunedin and stopped here for the cache

Good weather today. Tftc and virtual

24-Oct-24
On our way south to the Mega in Dunedin, collecting a few caches on the way. This was one of our stops - - - I love collecting Virtuals whenever I can and it did sound an interesting place. We spent ages here watching the birds and talking to some other visitors. The seagulls came quite near to us collecting food for their young, word must have got around that this is a marine reserve.I have too many favourite places to choose from, I guess if you had to have an answer it would be "the place where I am is my favourite place." At the moment I'm at home catching up on logs. Thanks for the virtual, I trust you enjoyed the remainder of your visit and are happily home now and getting in some quality caching .

A nice spot for the Virtual. It all made sense once I read the cache page. And it was popular today - about half a dozen groups came and went while we were here. For the record, my favourite spot is Akaroa. We were lucky as kids from Christchurch to get the odd opportunity to stay a week here during school holidays at our fathers workplace holiday home. Thanks if he was lucky enough to win the lottery, it was a popular choice. Its a cool little building in a prominent location on the Main Street, and for me Akaroa was a bit exotic with its French street names and relaxed village atmosphere back in the early 80s.TFTVC Deepdiggingmole.Day 1 of our road trip south to the Mega. Blenheim to Christchurch. We got away early with the plan of getting to Amberley reasonably quickly, then dipping into some small coastal communities like Amberley Beach and Leithfield Beach, and then Pegasus to find some caches and call quits when the time was right to get into Chch around 4.30pm. All up 16 caches found, 1 DNF, 1 ripped jacket (at the DNF), 1 book from a book swap, and 2 communities I had never visited before were visited. Thanks all COs.

It wouldn't be a trip to the south island without visiting Kaikoura. We woke to another beautiful day, and headed here to complete the ad lab series and pick up a couple of other caches. These stopping areas are great. Lots of seals around today. Thanks for setting this up

Heading south with rattll, en route to GeoToroa at Dunedin. Today, started at Paparoa Point, north of Kaikoura, aiming for... somewhere in North Canterbury, tbc. Our sole confirmed target for the day is GCEB9, at Glentui. The oldest letterbox hybrid in NZ, and coincidentally a Jasmer spot that we both need. Everything else collected today is a bonus, so we're stopping as the whim takes us.The whim definitely took us for this virtual! No dolphins today, but many seals, and pups playing amongst the rocks. FP from me. Answers sent to the CO. Tftc!

NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega - Oct 24. I am also keen to get a multi every day, so it is now the Mega Multi Road Trip. Today is Day 1 of our trip from Wellington to Christchurch. This cache was one on our journey. A great spot for a virtual and we enjoyed our stop, thank you Deepdiggingmole, for sharing your favourite place. Answers have been sent. My favourite place is out caching all over our stunning country. It's nice to have a trip where alongside targeted caches, we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day and the caches are calling...Photo attached.

It was a great day to drive down this coastline. The sky was nearly cloud free; the sea was beautiful blues; there werent too many vehicles on the road; the scenery was great and as usual, I enjoyed looking at the evidence of uplift from the Kaikoura earthquake. Thanks for the cache Deepdiggingmole and making us have another break before our long drive to GCEB9 Fall'n Glentui Bush (Canterbury).Favourite place: too many of them. Recently I was in Iceland and walked down the middle of Mid Atlantic Ridge and visited Gullfoss Falls. They are favourite places because I was able to see the result of the power of nature up close and because of beauty of the falls. And then there was the Northern Lights.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Deepdiggingmole. And so 7 days after returning home from a five month trip to the UK and Europe, I am off on another trip. This time its within New Zealand as Itchyfeet2020 and I are on our mega road trip to Dunedin. We are focussing on particular caches for various challenges, as well as having a great lot of fun and seeing the scenery in our wonderful land. -LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!!On May 3rd, 2025, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in Rotorua, New Zealand with a special Block Party event. Join us to celebrate 25 years of this amazing game, and that the very first geocache hidden outside of the United States, 25 years ago, was hidden here in New Zealand. You do not want to miss this event, so check out the "[GCAKR25](https://coord.info/GCAKR25) 25 Years of Geocaching NZ! event page, the [event website](http://25years.geocache.nz/) for more details, join the [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/924894455969387) group, and sign up to the [email list](http://25years.geocache.nz/?p=4) to get updates...If you intend to come, please make sure you get your "Will Attend" log onto the page as soon as you can in order to assist with planning the first ever Block Party in New Zealand.-

We were supposed to do a whale watching trip today, but it got cancelled as the whales were outside the area. Instead we set off to find a few caches. Sadly we saw no dolphins here today. We did see seagulls, oyster catchers and a lonely seal. Thanks for the virtual and an excuse to stop as we headed south.

A new virtual since I last drove this road. It's a good stopping place. Good parking, toilets, historical information, and lovely views. I never knew the island had a name until I read this. Not my best photo! Thanks for placing your virtual here, Deepdiggingmole #10464

A quick and conveniant stop for the family on the way north, a big swell today making for some fantastic waves crashing onto the rocks. Answers sent, cheers.

3 weeks ago I stopped with Nanzie to do the virtual. We collected the answers however it was too dark to be able to get a photo showing us there, which was very disappointing as we were right in the middle of the magic show being put on by the southern lights but all we could see was black, even with the camera. Yesterday I was passing by again and it wasn't quite dark so did manage a photo. Unfortunately no dolphins out there today. Thanks Deepdiggingmole#16951

A great spot but too cold today to qualify as my own favourite. Answers sent to the CO.Thanks for the virtual cache here. Ill load the photo later.

It was a miserable day as the required photo shows, but two years earlier it was a lovely day! Our favourites are probably Central Otago although Tongariro National Park is great too.

We quickly found the required information at this nice little rest area. As for a favourite location, Central Otago is probably our favourite area, but we can't come up with a particular spot. TFTC

Thanks for hiding this cache Deepdiggingmole I appreciate it. I have sent off JDScout and my answers to the CO. We had lunch here enjoying our last lunch on our 15 day holiday. Those dolphins sounded wonderful. Sadly we could not share in that experience. I have been towed by a dolphin in a little boat in a Dutch Dolphinarium when I was 6im the 1970s. I also got to pat them and feed them fish. Not very PC but this was the 1970s.Today we saw a beautiful fantail and some seals.Today is day fifteen of our Coromandel trip. We stayed in Blenheim last night before moving on to our home in Christchurch. We stayed in Wellington, Taupo, Cambridge, Whitianga,Tairua, Paeroa, Taihape, Greytown and Blenheim on this trip.

Answers sent.Love this road whatever the weather. Another favorite place of mine is Te Waharoa at Mrahau, being the start of the Abel Tasman track. A great place to walk, cache, and visit the cafe.Thank you Deepdiggingmole

A nice quick find. Ms_KR has sent through the answers to the questions. No aquatic wildlife to be seen today. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on another North Island tour, visiting family, art galleries and caches. So far the weather has been pretty good!Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.

#23622. Nice place to break the journey on our way to Kaikoura (not sure whether we had stopped here before). Troodles sent our answers and posted our pictures. TFTC.

Today we are driving from Christchurch to Hanmer, via Kaikoura . That's not our normal route, but we wanted to show DIL, on her first visit to NZ, how beautiful this part of the country is.Of course, we had to stop here to do the new virtual. and let her have a closer look at the scenery and seals (we spotted 2 nearby ones, lazing on the rocks). Answers sent on behalf of StreetWalkerNZ and myself. It's very hard to pick a favourite location, it changes depending on where I am as well, how I am feeling as well as the weather. TFTC.

Picked up three caches after heading south from Kaikura this morning. Nice place to stop but didnt spot any wildlife at the time. #7112. TFTC.

On our twenty-first day in New Zealand we drive to Kaikoura. This beautiful cache was on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. When we arrived here there was a largish group of people on the roadside and on the rocks looking out to sea. Yes, we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins as well. A couple from Bristol in England were especially excited and had binoculars for a better view. However, we were happy with what we could see unaided and we ended up seeing more of the pod as we drove towards Kaikoura. Best view from the shore we have ever had. And a cache as well. Answers sent and prompt reply from the CO. We find the view from the top of the Port Hills in Nelson takes lot of beating but may need to go back for a photo to add later. Thanks for the incentive to stop here again.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we took the bus from Blenheim to Christchurch. Thanks for this geocache. Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

Fifth day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers.Today we continued our journey by bus from Blenheim to Christchurch along the coast. Our driver was kind enough to make an unscheduled stop for us so that we could visit this virtual one. A beautiful place to linger. Unfortunately, we didn't see any dolphins. That would have been sensational for me. Instead, hundreds of sea lions were sunbathing on the rocks next to the coastal road on the way there. That was also a great experience.Shouldn't a favorite place be somewhere you can visit regularly? For me, that would be the palace gardens of Sanssouci in Potsdam or Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin. Otherwise, the tiny country of Andorra was such a place for me ??. I had already fallen in love with the mountain lakes in the log photos when planning the trip! Seeing it live was the absolute highlight of my trip. I sent the answers to this ghost to the owner via Message Center. The log release came promptly.Thank you for laying & taking care Smile.Fnfter Tag in Neuseeland ??.

# 21531Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. This day we are travelling from Blenheim to Christchurch with a small detour to Kaioura to hopefully se some seals. I didn't quite succeed with that, but instead I saw a small group of lamas being paraded on the sidewalk. We were travelling along the eastern coast of New Zealand along State Highway 1, and we could se the difference of the nature on both sidse of the bus - Ocean and mountains. Denmark also has a lot of coastline, but we are a bit more protected from the Northsea because of Great Britain about 600 km to the west. Down here in the South Pacific there isn't much to give shelter from the East.Unfortunately I was not as lucky regarding the wildlife in the ocean. It would have been wonderful to see that kind of show. Also we didn't have much time to wait, because 38 people have places to go and geocaching to do. At least we got time to find this virtual and the nearby traditional cache. This is my first visit to New Zealand, but I hope it will not be the last and only visit here. We have only had a few days here, but I enjoyed most of the places and have hoped that we could spend more time almost at every destination. Next time...Tak for cachen til Deepdiggingmole.

??????{STF} with TeamDownunder24?????? A group of 38 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland - Team Downunder24 - are traveling for 22 days from Frankfurt/Main via Doha to Australia and New Zealand. I was able to discover many wonderful things and irretrievable experiences are burned into my memory. Today our bus tour goes from Blenheim to Christchurch, and we stopped at this beautiful viewpoint. Unfortunately we couldn't see any dolphins before, but we could see some sea lions. Impressive! My favorite place at the moment is my home. When it's so far away, it's suddenly missing. I am sending the photo I took before I left. The mountain is called Piz Beverin, is almost 3000m high, and I live in a village at 1400mm with 2700 inhabitants. I'm happy to award a favorite point because of the beautiful place and the animation to think about your favorite place. In 1 FPThanks to Deepdiggingmole for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland ????

Found this cache on a 24-day trip to Australia and New Zealand with a night of stopover in Qatar. In Qatar we have an evening and almost a full day of geocaching before we take the long flight to Downunder. In Australia we will visit the citys of Sydney, Melbourne, Aidelaide and Cairns. Our stays in New Zealand will be in Aukland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. For me the focus will be on old caches, placed in 2000 and obviously on the remaining webcams in Australia and New Zealand. We are a group of 38 Geocachers from Germany, Denmark and Luxembourg. At geocaches that we visit as a group, we sign the logbooks with our team-name "Team DownUnder24" to safe the owners a lot of space in the Logbooks.Next day of the Bus Tour. Today from Blenheim to Chirstchurch.Made a short stop here for the virtual. The second photo I added, is from Kotor, Montenegro. I love that place. I actually have two geocaches placed there. It's such a nice place, but especially in Winter, it's very calm and rather cheap. Good food, nice people.Merci frs Dosal sogt da GoanToni Thanks to Deepdiggingmole for hiding and maintaining this geocache.

I love the spot "Mole's favourite places - NZ" too. ??Unfortunately, we didn't see any dolphins, but we did see plenty of sea lions. All over the world I have seen many really beautiful places. My favourite place is the view of Table Mountain in Cape Town. I often remember it.I can't even describe why, but this look fascinated me. Thanks ?? Deepdiggingmole??

Ich bedanke mich bei Deepdiggingmole fr den Mole's favourite places - NZ .On my tour through Australia and New Zealand I was part of the DownUnder24 team. In some caches, the task was solved as a group, but individuals also submitted the solutions. Conclusion: every virtual event was an experience and I saw and learned a lot. I would like to thank Deepdiggingmole for the Mole's favourite places - NZ .
