Travelling from Koroit to Colac, we stopped in Camperdown to check out the op shops and catch up on some caches. This is a lovely town with a magnificent clock. I have sent my answers to the CO and hope they pass muster.
A very cool town click here with also a a great place to remember Travelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
Answers sent for review and approval. These guys owned this place.Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Tew's day the fifteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. CO has approved our answers so logging this Virtual.Today Smrff78, bunadoorian and I were on a road trip to Terang to attend a couple of events. Along the way we picked up caches with lots of favourite points in different LGA's for Smrff78. I thought by the time we got here we could do with stretching our legs. With the answers collected we did the group photo. Thank you so much for placing this virtual here in Camperdown H_3. It has been many years since bunadoorian and I had driven through here.
Grub62, Smrff78 and I visited this virtual and Grub62 is going to send the answers on behalf of all of us. What a nice place with lots of history (at least in the main street). Thanks for creating this virtual and TFTC.
We came we answered we had our dreaded photos taken , with Grub62 & Bunadoorian & of course me (Smrff78) ..
Found by The Empire + HSoon, were back on the road, making our way toward Camperdown. The towns volcanic history becomes clear as we spot the twin lakes, Lake Bullen Merri and Lake Gnotuk, reflecting the sky in their still waters. As we roll into Camperdown, the town's iconic clock tower immediately catches our eye, rising proudly against the skyline. We cant resist stopping to take a few photos, capturing the charm of this historical landmark with its old-world architecture standing tall in the town centre. With the lakes behind us and the open road ahead, we set off once again, the anticipation of the half marathon growing as Warrnambool draws nearer. Answers sent, thanks for the cache H_3.-MVirtual #260
13 September 2024 18:49 TFTC H_3 for placing this cache, number 14746 for me. Stopped here with GSEL on our epic Adelaide to Melbourne road trip. Information gathered, photos taken, so thanks for giving us an opportunity to stop, explore, and learn a little more about the area.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
Have a TB that's goal is to visit Virtual and Earh caches so decided to get this one on the way home from Melbourne
Great virtual, very impressive. Got off the ferry this morning and heading for S. A. TFTC
Thanks for this virtual. My goodness so many info boards around here. Camperdown is such a cool little place. I hadnt noticed the statue before - which was very cool. Kids had tried to climb inside the clock on a previous visit with a tour guide but its so steep inside its like a ladder. It was cool to see the brave ones wave from the top banister down to us though. Thanks h 3
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Spending a few days in Warrnambool to grab some local. Pretty miserable day but it keeps the muggles off the road. Quick find. Thanks for the virtualLNCU
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are enjoying our time exploring the local area. Thanks for placing this cache. LNCU.
#14,792. I was recently passing through Camperdown and stopped by the clock tower to do this virtual cache. Good to read about the local history on the different signs and see the nearby statue. I have messaged my answers to the CO. Thanks for placing your virtual cache here.
Wow - 1000 got you quite a lot back then - very impressive. Sorry about the pic, Ill learn the art of selfies one day or not
What a fantastic week of (late) autumn weather it has been in Adelaide! And with even more on the way, I thought Id take the opportunity to go away for a few days of caching, camping and sightseeing on my own. From Adelaide I headed down to the Coonawarra, then across to the Southern Grampians area then east as far as Colac, before making my way back home. I took a winding route, collecting caches of interest along the way. I managed to find a range of caches types, including Traditional, Unknown, Multi, Letterbox Hybrid, Virtual and Earthcaches as well as a few Adventure Labs. All but a couple were found without any trouble. Most were good order unless otherwise noted.Fortunately the weather held out pretty well for most of the time. However, it rained steadily for hours when I was in Colac one night, but I guess you have to expect that in Victoria! The required information was collected here and sent to the CO.Thanks H_3 for the virtual cache.
I had packed up A'Tuin the geomobile, the geodogs, Gypsy Girl, Teeny Treek, and Mini Michi on board, and we had set off for Warrnambool, where Mrs Dromaniax would meet us later in the day.We had a list of caches we wanted to find today, and having just completed a First to Find, we were back in Colac to find the Multicaches hidden around town. We had completed the data collection task on previous visits, and now was the day to find them all and see if we could finally have a day with six Multicache finds. With our mission accomplished, we couldn't resist the temptation of finding a Virtual cache to cap off the day. We love Virtual caches.Thank you H_3 for this Virtual cache.
Today we set off early for the Otway's to enjoy the beautiful scenery and claim the 3 latest caches since our last visit. It turned out we couldn't access Lorne due to a stupid bike race that did not finish until 1pm. So we headed back to Winch and through to Cressy and Camperdown. The clock tower is very impressive with its magnificent structure overlooking the centre of town it always amazes us the architecture back in the day when they had less mod cons than today but modern architecture is so ugly. We luckily got a park close by and we took a wander around the different interpretive boards and plaques before crossing the road for the final answer and a selfie. Thanks h_3 for the interesting Virtual placement, well worth a visit and inspection.
they certainly don't build like this anymore, My Grandfather was a brick layer, who used to build stuff like this. Its a skill that seems to be dwindling. Thanks for bringing me to this location.
Passing through on our way home from a couple of days at Warrnambool this is our first stop. We were here right at 2 oclock when we were able to hear the clock chime. Geoboy is in the photo.
We were heading off to Portland to visit Pop after having a great time at The Canberra Geobash mega. We normally bypass here on our way down and decided that today with a relatively new cache in town we would stay on the main road.We have visited here in the past but neither of us could remember what he was holding in his hand so we each made a choice we thought that we had remembered and it turns out our memories aren't good as we were both wrong. We now know the answer which has been sent off to the CO and the required picture is below. Thanks H_3 for the cache.
In Camperdown for work, thought I'd find a couple of caches while here. Snoopy loves getting his nose in the pics... Very interesting stuff. Answer sent. TFTC.
Found the info quickly and answers have been sent to CO. This is a quaint little town. TFTC
Thanks to H_3 for this opportunity to stop and take in the significance of the Clock Tower and surrounds. We have travelled through Camperdown many times but have only checked out this area a few times. It was a delightful morning and we were glad to stop for a break. We have sent our answers to H_3

14:14Final day on the road for us, heading homeward, after attending the Great Leap Forward Mega in Adelaide. What a great time, filled with finds, food, friendship and fun. #19338 - 8:23:00 AM; Day six of "The Great Leap Forward" road trip and the last leg of the journey back home to Canberra after spending the night in Warnambool. Started the day early to allow for a bit more caching time as I head along the highway. A quieter day today with seven finds and plenty of kilometers travelled. All caches were found in good order and where appropriate, were returned as found once the log was signed. Apologies for the largely generic logs A nice stop to stretch the legs and learn a little local history here. Gathered the required information and sent answers to thye CO, who gave the OK! A fave for the location and history lesson. TFTC H_3
Day 1 of our trip to the Great Leap Forward mega event in Adelaide, accompanied by our new Canadian friends jtee and janjorjack. We took the very scenic route via the Great Ocean Road. Heading home to Adelaide for the special Leap Year/day mega event and picking up a few caches along the way. Just a little bit further to go A very impressive clock tower that looks beautiful with the red and green lights on it. I got to hear it chime at 8.45 and then it was back on the road to do a few more miles.TFTV H_3Keep smiling
Found with DSD on a road trip through Victoria on our way to the SA border, with an amended route due to the bushfires. -Excellent location once again for another virtual! They dont make things like they used too, this clock tower is very impressive! Obtained the answers, sent them to the CO and promptly got the OK response! Thanks for the virtual! Photo attached
Stopped to stretch out the legs on the way through to Warrnambool. This is a very impressive tower and interesting history. Tftc
Day #2 Leaping Forward AdventuresAfter leaving my dinner event in town and high tailing it across to Colac for the night, today was a journey to eventually cross the SA border, at some point. How many stops will there be? .The day is really heating up and the wind is gusty. I sure hope we dont see a repeat of last weeks fires today. Once I finished what I had to do, I made the short drive to GZ to work through the questions.I have stopped here many of times to admire this clock tower and smash a pepper pie or the odd donut or two from the local bakery.Thank you for placing this virtual
