This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13796. Found this one today after meeting up with another cacher at the nearby nurses strike action. Took me a little to locate the requirements but I got there in the end. Thanks vk2df for the cache.
Reperio 14:56Today I headed down to Sydney to take part in the nurses strike in Hyde Park and along Macquarie Street to NSW Parliment, and so once that was finished, I had some time to find a few caches in the park. This is such a great building, and as I hadnt really taken a closer look at it before, this was the perfect opportunity. In Sydney for a few days for a conference and a group morning walk took us right by this virtual. I refrained from hunting for trads as I was with a group but couldn't resist a quick dash around collecting the answers and a photo for this one. Too early for the hall to be open so I have two photos to add. Many thanks for the fun!
Staying nearby and spent some time this morning exploring and finding some caches. Thanks for bringing me to this memorial
My first visit to Australia. I started learning English especially for this. Hope it will be better on my next visit.
After shopping at Stussy, we past this Memorial. Nice and interesting location. The tasks were manageable. Thanks for hiding.TFTC magicchicken
Found with Gazania Rigens as per her log. She has sent our answers. What an impressive memorial this is! GR and I spent a lot of time amongst the museum exhibits in the basement, as well as in admiring the memorial parts both inside and the landscaping without.A FP from me!
This morning the weather was quite hot, so we decided to visit the Australian Museum and stay cool there. We passed the ANZAC Memorial on the way and spent quite a while looking at the exhibits in the basement. The collection of soil samples was quite unexpected. There were also many moving stories of individuals who served during various wars. I've sent our answers. TFTC!

#15285 11:30A visit to the ANZAC memorial with an impressive display of the different towns and their soil for all the soldiers from NSW.TFTVC!
Thank you for the cache. We really like Sydney and enjoyed our trip through Australia.Meerana from Hannover/ Germany ?????
Very interesting virtual. Wazza9 will send answers for both of us. I have never been down here, great display. Photo attached. Thank you for placing this virtual. RIP.
TaurusSix and I are having an extended long weekend in Sydney , checking out our old haunts , catching up with friends , seeing Hamilton and of course finding time in between for geocaching . Two virtual a in a row. Interesting but not incompatible with the plan we had - which is to chase adventure labs and pick up others we passed near. This plan has been serving us well this morning and and now led is here. We found the information for one question really easily, but we had trouble interpreting the other. In trial and error we went into places that were very interesting, so nothing wrong with that. The it clicked and we had the other question answered. We also took the break here as an opportunity its to reshuffle our shopping to rationalise on how we carried it about town.Last time we were here a good few years ago now the area was cordoned off, so to the nearby cafe that we had liked to visit. Now that the area was opened up it was pleasant to visit all the waypoints of this cache. Thanks to the CO for the virtual cache it gets a favourite point from us .
+1 favourite point. I've been fortunate to come here for work and join the daily (?) ceremony and been shown around in a small tour group. It really is an interesting, sombre place with a museum, lots to see, and a few 'quirks'. For example as well as the soil from all around Australia (one of which is actually ashes not dirt) is dirt from various places overseas where Australians have fought, collected by the Australian Army where permission has been obtained to do such a collection. So it's notable some places are not (yet...?) represented. I figure this area would be great to visit on a rainy day, as it's partly open to the sky. There are also two plaques which refer to a "king" and "the son of a king" (or something like that). No names are given, although the son is Harry. I thought there was a guestbook, but alas not, so I couldn't get a pen to write "riokun" on my hand for the photo. This is my first find after a slump of about 250 days, so I had forgotten that cardinal geocaching rule - "Always carry a pen" (and your phone and phone charger, and a spare pen, and a torch. And paper. And little plastic bags...) But you can tell it's me if you look at my gallery, so can see my hairs turn white as the years go by.Thanks for the cache! Lest we forget.
Took us a while to finish this one we visited and forgot to get the answer to the second question so had to return to get it. Had a great experience talking to one of the volunteers inside the hall of service. TFTV.
#24928. The memorial is impressive, and it was good to have a reason to investigate it further. Troodles supplied answers on behalf of us both. TFTC.
Another day for StreetWalkerNZ and me of walking around the CBD, finding caches, and doing a few ad labs, before we take the ferry to Manly to see our son and daughter in law. This is quite a spectacular memorial which I had not really taken notice of before. The water features front and back make it even more impressive. Quickly found the first answer, then had trouble with finding where to go for the second, but once we had got closer to Liverpool St, we saw the ramp, which had been concealed from view as we approached from the north. Logged with permission. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.
TFTC this is my first virtual cache find. The Anzac Memorial is a fantastic place to visit.
A nice day of caching in the city. Good to have a weekday off!! Weather is certainly working with me.TFTC Wilbert67
We are visitors from the UK. We have been here many times, but never noticed that you can walk down the ramp to a lower, underground level. The whole monument is a delight with the lower level being an added bonus for us. Many thanks to the CO for making us look a bit more closely.
Visiting Sydney for four days to attend a conference. In between the schedule when I had free time, I picked up some labs and caches in the city that had cropped up since I was last in town earlier in the year.Answers sent to the CO. Cheers vk2df!
First day in Sydney, the goal for today is to explore the city center and the botanic gardens with of course a few caches along the way Tftc ! Greetings from France
Over in Sydney for 10 days visiting one of our sons and picking up a few caches as well. Today we walked through Hyde Park and enjoyed perusing the ANZAC Memorial which we have seen before on a previous trip, but that was in 2016. Thanks for setting this virtual up, answers sent to the CO
It was a lovely day out in the park, much nicer than the grey morning it started out to be. I've been in the area before but never knew about the section below, great to have this highlight the memorial and explore more of it through the questions. This morning we explored about Sydney CBD locally. Starting the day with the tram up to an Earthcache, a wander about the streets to include the botanic gardens, a bus ride and the museum. The Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the year exhibition was fabulous, plus a good look about in other exhibitions. Managed a few caches and a Virtual on the way, not a caching trip but nice to get a cache while passing an area. Thanks for your Cache!
TFTC found whilst walking through the park an impressive memorial that has a lot of hidden attributes.
Chewbacca72 and I are traveling during 4 months through Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. A few caches that are on our way should not be missing. This cache is one of them. Many thanks to vk2df for this cool virtual at this interesting place.Best regards, searchersab
We spend a few days in Sydney and enjoy the city with its unique sights, buildings and parks. We also search for and create caches, virtual and lab caches. This takes us to places we would not have visited otherwise. The caches are in very good condition and the hints helpful and they were all dry and there was still enough space for the next cachers. On our Tour we was able to made the Virtual. So we learn a lot at this really special area. Many thanks and greetings from the Moorhelmi
In the city for a bit of work and caching.I had time in my lunch break to grab this virtual and pay my respects to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.Answers sent to COTFTC ??
Found this cache on day out after taking geokids to the Australian Museum. I wish we came earlier at 11am for the Service of Rememberance.Answers sent to CO. TFTC vk2df.
Spending a week of the school holidays in Sydney with my nephew, had the chance to spend a full day caching on my own while he had tennis camp. Had planned to start at the other end of town but bus decided to travel a different route to advertised and I ended up alighting at the QVB so figured I may as well tick off this one while nearby. Collected answers and discovered the Liverpool Street entrance and fountains Id never noticed before. Quite a peaceful spot and a different view to the one most people see from Hyde Park. Answers sent and photo uploaded with log.
Out finding some caches around Hyde Park this evening. This was a nice virt. I never realised you could go into the memorial and down below. Unfortunately its closed this time of day. TFTV

4 October 2024 A beautiful day for another visit to this haunting memorial.Thankyou vk2df
On an Australian adventure visiting our daughter who lives a few minutes walk from here.TFTC
This wouldn't be my first visit to the ANZAC Memorial, but today our outing was to the Australian Museum next to Hyde Park. After our day of science and culture we made our way back to the Metro station, thus coming past the Memorial. The necessary information was quickly sourced and the logging requirements were met. Answers sent off to the CO for approval. Thanks for the brief visit to the Memorial. It's interesting to come back more than once and notice different details on each visit. That's what's fun about geocaching: one discovers interesting things, sees little details from a different perspective, or is alerted to places that one would never have visited and experienced in the normal course of one's day.
In town for an event this morning and stopped by here on my way there. The place has changed, for the better, since my last visit here, but it still very much reminds me of my visit to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, which in turn brings back memories of the March on Washington scene in Forrest Gump. Thanks for creating this virtual and for the multiple memories it delivers. So, it gets a big fave point from me.
I'd come to the city for the postcard event and then did a few touristy caches. enjoying a sunny wander. Although I've been to to many events in Hyde Park over the years, I hadn't been to the Memorial since the impressive final stage was completed, so it was very enjoyable visit. Thanks vk2df.
Last stop before catching the bus home.Nice to spend some time exploring this amazing structure and surrounds.
This is my 1283 find Lovely multi found at night.Answers will be sent to CO in a min (geo website being very slow today)TFTC!!
We had a bit of time left in Sydney at the end of our weekend away so decided to do a bit of geocaching. Thank you for bringing us to this location, an incredible monument and area to pause and reflect. Answers have been sent via message. TFTC.
In town for a gig and couldn't resist this virtual. Very interesting and nice to do it first thing when it's quiet. TFTC
Quick stop on the home this evening collecting the required info for this virtual. Worked nearby a few years back and regularly visited the memorial on my lunchtime walk, a lovely place. TFTVC vk2df #2947
My father served in Papua New Guinea during WW2, but although an active member of the local RSL club, he never spoke of his war experiences and it was only after his death in 1997 that I was able to read his diary and learn of the traumas he faced there. I'm so thankful I haven't had to live through anything like that.Today I was visiting Sydney and stopped off to attempt this new virtual. My mug shot holding my GPSr is attached and I've sent my answers to the other questions to the CO who gave me the okay to log. Many thanks for putting together this interesting and thought-provoking virtual.

I'm ashamed to say that I have not visited the Anzac Memorial before - however, that was rectified this morning. With the answers sent and a photo taken there was ample time to take a look around the Memorial. I visited each of the commemorative spaces in the description and read many of the details on the Niches of Rememberance in the Hall of Memory which I found very interesting. The whole visit was very moving. Thanks for bringing here vk2df. FP from me.
Thanks for this great Virtual. I learnt so much today by visiting here - I didn't know about The Hall of Service. I will be back to spend more time here. A fave from me.
