After a brisk hike through the woods, I stumbled upon the Lock Pick Challenge cache. True to its description, the wooden box wasn't too difficult to locate, but the real excitement began when I encountered the padlock securing its contents. With a sense of determination, I looked through my car and used the wire off some old reading glasses and set to work. Despite being a novice at lock picking, I found this particular lock to be surprisingly manageable. In just a few attempts, I successfully bypassed the mechanism and unlocked the treasure trove within.I then locked the box back up and gave CDAH55 a go at pick locking and he was able to get into the lock as well. Inside the box, I discovered a wet log but was still able to write ilon it. It's always a delight to see the creativity and generosity of the geocaching community. After perusing the log book, I carefully resealed the cache for the next intrepid explorer to find. This Lock Pick Challenge was both exhilarating and rewarding, reminding me of the diverse adventures that await in the world of geocaching. Until next time, happy caching!
This cache was found with Dora the Explorer! The find was fairly easy but opening the container was a challenge. We used wire of various sizes which were unsuccessful but Dora The Explorer! thought she would try the frame from an old pair of reading glasses which was successful. This was definately a fun cache and well deserving of a favourite point.TFTC
A return visit to this cache, the last time we tried we where beaten back by the mozzies. This time covered in repellent and extra information where to look it was a quick find. Took the container back to the car and sat in the aircon to open the lock, which turned out wasn't to difficult. Unfortunately the inside of the cache was very wet along with the bag and log, dried it all out and signed log. Returned cache to its hidey hole, FP for the fun. TFTC Madman001
We were just about to have a lazy Sunday snooze when I got notification of this published cache. Right! Get in the car - lets go! As part of our toolkit we have a lock picking kit, so I knew we were suitably equipped to access the log. We were on-site within half an hour and checked all the obvious spots first before turning on an angle and seeing what wed missed. What a nice container!! Made quick work if it and found a blank sheet. Yay - another Sunday {FTF} for our team! Thanks madman for another fun hide. Then it was off for second coffees.
Another interesting Madman001 cache! It was a short walk into the bush and the box was soon spotted. We had read the cache description and came prepared and our little tool worked a treat. Log signed and all replaced as found. Now I know that hubby can pick locks! Thanks for the adventure here today. A favourite of course for this one.
