Heading up the the highway with chooknchunk on this bleak winters day with chunk being our chauffeur for the day we managed to still cache our way to Halls Gap in anticipation for the CO's event.Chooknchunk had this one so they were able to guide us to the hide quickly. The logbook was found totally drenched so we had to squeeze it out before using our write in the rain pen. Unfortunately our bag of replacements were back in our car. Thanks Duntulum for the cache placement.

Today was the second day of our trip to Adelaide fir our second grand-daughter's birthday. As this cache was next to the highway, there was no option but to stop. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache and the break in our travels.

Find No. 4590. Found with FUF009 at 2.15pmSeeing how there are some new caches out in the Halls Gap and Stawell area, we decided we would have a caching day and see what we could find. FUF009 came with us. Today we were in the red car.First up we done a series of six caches on the outskirts of Halls Gap, where we walked the track past crocodile infested waters, T-Rex Fernery and Raptor undergrowth. We even spotted a Terrydactyl nest high up in a tree. (Good to let your imagination go wild - just like these caches we found)Luckily we managed to return to the car unharmed after earning ourselves six smilies. From here we went into town for a look around, had a cuppa in the park, watching the birds nearby. We then done some stages of the Adventure Lab. We also got a stage of another Ad Lab that starts in Bendigo. Then we headed towards the Botanic Gardens, found a couple more caches, before heading back to Stawell, on our way home, finding caches along the way as we went. After having lunch in a park opposite Mitre 10, we then headed out the road to find the two new ones out that way. Then it was back into Stawell and out another road heading towards Great Western to find one out that way. Luckily the Parking Bay was big and the cache was at the far end as there was a muggle bikie having a rest not far in. We just parked the car, got out and read the sign while locating the cache. Now it's back into Stawell. An enjoyable day spent caching.TFTC Duntulum

Find # 13453Found with Tyred n Cranky.A day out Stawell and Halls Gap way.Seeing as a few new caches appeared on the map we decided to head off and attempt them. After doing a small trail just out of Halls Gap and then having a look around town we headed back to Stawell to find the newer ones around. From one side of Stawell to way out n away the other side. Never been to this spot before. Cache was a quick grab, only 1 muggle parked up. But we got the car close enough to hide our search. TFTC Duntulum

*FTF* 01.55amWe first saw the emails for a group of new caches at 9.30pm, we soon realised that they had been published at 11.30am. First there was the talk, if we had seen the emails when they came out we know we would have been in the car and on our way. Now a little history about us, we are known for going out to find caches at any time of the day or night. As we do not live in a cache dense area anymore this has not been such a thing for us. The decision to head out at 10pm was an easy one for us as in the morning we are having the tree loppers in to remove a tree and a stump and we do not know what time they will arrive. We are so grateful that the CO has taken care with the placement of these caches as all of the co-ords were spot on. We have driven through Great Western many many times and we have never realised that this lovely rest stop was here, the tables are a bonus and we did not find the surface to rough, we have been on worse that are meant to be our main highways. Thank you for showing us this area. SL TFTC
