I arrived just after its start time to find the pub/venue in full swing, and I was told that it was booked out this evening! I had promised that I would be home to catch Cottontail's bedtime routine, so I hung around for 20 min before calling adieu, and raced home for my own dinner. It was still great to hear how everyone else's tales went today, and from what I could tell, it was a solid success judging from people's smiles, and despite the rain / inclement weather. Thanks [Dfc_jlk2019](https://coord.info/PR11AR1N) for the event organisation and hosting!----------Today's activities consisted of the planned Woodford May Day activities. After running Parkrun Glass House Mountains Conservation parkrun, I arrived in time for the [May Day in Moreton Bay - Breakfast](https://coord.info/GCAP7F3) event, and then joined [chamad](https://coord.info/PRPP06G) and [tuppens](https://coord.info/PRGYCFZ) exploring the area. Once we had finished with the newly placed/published geocaches, I utilised my remaining time in Woodford to head north and visited Stanmore, the fringes of Bellthorpe National Park, and then travelled part-way east towards Peachester, before turning around in time for the Woodford [May Day Event Dinner](https://coord.info/GCAP2PE) event.
Attendees gathered at the Woodford Hotel for the inaugural event kicking off the May Day long weekend. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as geocachers from near and far came together for an evening of camaraderie and exploration. The event commenced with a warm welcome from the organizers, setting the tone for an informative and enjoyable gathering. Attendees engaged in lively discussions, sharing their geocaching experiences and stories of past adventures. The agenda for the evening included an informal session covering geocaching etiquette and guidelines, providing valuable insights for both novice and seasoned cachers alike. Questions were raised and answered, fostering a sense of community and mutual support among attendees. While purchasing a meal was optional, many chose to join the organizing group for dinner, further enhancing the sense of fellowship among participants. Laughter and conversation filled the air as attendees bonded over their shared passion for geocaching. As the event drew to a close, attendees expressed gratitude to the organizers for hosting such a memorable gathering. With newfound friendships forged and plans for future adventures in the works, the evening concluded on a high note, leaving participants eagerly anticipating the next annual event in Woodford.
Attended this event to reacquaint with geocachers we met at an earlier event.A very popular hotel that is very busy. Thanks for hosting this event.
Great event and good company. Slight hiccups with all the meals, but left full with leftovers so all is good TFTE.
This first May Day in Moreton Bay was full on from the start with the Breakfast Event to the final Dinner Event! And inbetween a lot of tree climbs, fishing, searching, signing logs ....During the meeting we shared adventures of the day, the next plans and projects, whilst we were waiting for our meals. Ours was delicious as always in this pub. Thanks for organising this event, May Day in Moreton Bay Placement Team
