Love all this new work, looks phenomenal and glad theres a cache out here too.Appreciate the hide Newlife
Nice spot for a cache. I've been watching the interchange slowly come together. Cache was quickly grabbed after spending a few minutes on the industrial hammocks. TFTC!
Taking it easy with my leap year streak recently completed. Took a while before gotcha CIH. My find count #2172.Thanks GregAdele for giving this cache for everyone to discover.
The sun had set, so I had to get the phone torch out. Took a few mins but there it was down low. TFTC
Heading home from dogsitting duties at Balmain, finally got to stop by and tick off two caches in the parklands for my daily streak. Easy find but wonder how long before attention will cause issues by traipsing through the garden mulch to reach GZ.
#14813 16:20There is nothing better than walking through the woodchips to find this cache. I hope all the asbestos has been removed and they did not forget the little corner where the cache is hidden.TFTC
What an oasis this place is here as cars buzz past . Good hide . In plain site TFTC GregAdele
Ahh, the Infamous Rozelle Interchange, A quick find here before an event in Rozelle. TFTC TNLNSL.
Well that took a bit of looking. Was expecting something smaller and higher but that was presuming!Nice spot away from people and prying eyes. All dry inside. This is the last of three in this new park and first time here. Will return to see more.TFTC
Friday post-work geocaching and our first visit to Rozelle parklands. Walked the length of the park to get here and cast around for a bit to work out where to go. Once we had that worked out, a cachers trail became visible leading straight to GZ. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
Decided to check out the newish Rozelle Parklands this morning and for a novelty I decided to go by public transport which entailed catching the L3 light rail from Kingsford to Capital Square. From here I caught the L1 light rail to Rozelle Bay where it was a very enjoyable walk in the sun on this cold winters morning around to gz.After finding the Rozelle Parklands cache I walked across to this cache which unlike the last cache was a quick find. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.
It took a few minutes and a second approach to spot this out in the open. TFTC.
Was looking in the wrong places at first then spotted the cache on a different structure
Mine friendeth and I whence on a spiffing stroll about the gardens, particularly prominently perousing apon the promenafe
It's actually not raining today and I grabbed the chance to explore a new area - with three new geocaches. It was interesting to actually see the new Rozelle Interchange: a mega government mess-up according to almost all peak hour travellers whose transit is now much longer whether by car or bus. It still looked pretty bad at 10:30 am. The exhaust stacks, on the other hand, were really neat. I don't think they got a good press either - but I like things like that and they looked good after the rain, clad in their vegetal wall greenery. Interchange. This presented a bit of a challenge. Gardeners were tending the area, and one of them turned on the sprinkler system just as I was closing in on GZ. Did I say it wasn't raining today??? He saw me standing there looking surprised and very wet, and quickly turned off the tap. I explained what I was doing, and he understood geocaching and happily watched me sign the log. All good.Thank you GregAdele for this little adventure.
Today we headed over to Rozelle for a stroll around the new Rozelle Parklands, and to have a look for the three Traditional caches located within them, and then to Cohen Park in Annandale for another Traditional cache. Caught a 280 bus to Chatswood and a T9 train to Central Railway Station, then hopped on an L1 tram to Rozelle Bay, walking from the Rozelle Bay Tram Stop over the new pedestrian overpass bridge to reach Rozelle Parklands. After finding the three Traditional caches, and stopping at one of the nice new picnic tables & seats to consume our pre-packed picnic lunch, we walked over another pedestrian overpass bridge to reach Cohen Park at Annandale for our last cache find of the day. The return journey was via an L1 tram from Rozelle Bay Tram Stop to Central Railway Station, then a T1 train to Chatswood, and a 280 bus back to home. This was the 2nd of 4 finds for the day. After finding "Rozelle Parklands" we followed the concrete bike & pedestrian pathway around past the sports fields to this one, making a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. The railway tracks from the old Roselle Rail Yards, which once stood on the parklands site, were an interesting feature seen not too far from GZ. Maybe a good spot for a SideTracked cache? Before leaving we had some fun on the nearby hammocks, then headed off to the last of the parklands caches. TFTC NewLife.Find #6833
With no recent satellite view of this area I wasn't sure where to park the geomobile so I left it near a friend's old house and walked from there. When my friend bought her house there was a dirty old rail yard at the end of the street and some talk of a wonderful new park being created there. Things take so long to happen in Sydney that she has long since moved on, but the park, well it looks terrific. Now where to walk? Satellite again was no help but the park is so well laid out that a path lead me almost to GZ. I had to cross some mulch. In this park, hmm???? I found my way to GZ and as I walked I was thinking about the type of hide and container it could be. Listed as a D1, I didn't think so but it was. I could see the cache on approach. If everything approaching GZ grows as the landscapers hope it won't be long before this is a very difficult GZ to reach.TFTC # 5998
Had a good look up, down, under and around where I thought it might be but no luck! I'll be returning as parklands is a quick grab from my neighbourhood. Good luck!
A rare treat in the past week or so; it was not raining, so I went with Ms Atalanta to visit the Rozelle parklands, recently re-opened following the scare associated with Asbestos in mulch.A good opportunity too to find the geocaches that had been hidden there. This was not where we looked at first, but the coordinates were spot on, so followed that for a quick find.TFTC
What a bonus -2nd TF after my volunteer shift at White Bay Power Station, assisting the Museums of History NSW tours during Sydney Biennale. Well worth a look - open 11 to 6 every day except Mondays until June 10! TFTC - navigation is strange as the map shows the old construction site not the new parklands!
[FTF] 07/05/24 @ 6:30am. Made this find on the cycle to work. Shame the parkland is boarded by a street with no pedestrian crossings and a speed limit recently increased from 40 to 50 kph ???. TFTC NewLife #2710
