They say a good breakfast is the cornerstone of a good day. A Geocaching Breakfast Event is definitely a good start for the day, especially at the Great Victorian Cache Crawl! Another good sized crowd and plenty of anticipation for a good day, despite the prospect of rain. Thanks for organising it Watashi4!

17-Aug-24

It was up early to attend all the events on this weekend for International Geocaching Day. A quick start here at a very packed venue - a good indication of what to expect for the rest of the very social outing. This was a more relaxed day than in previous years, and there was time for a few caches (and even the local the Sunbury parkrun) before heading north. Thanks Watashi4 and all the COs co-ordinating these events which comprised a great weekend.*******The Great Victorian Cache Crawl, International Geocaching Day**2024 - 628km : Sunbury - Echuca - Seymour 2023 - 649km : Ararat - Healesville - Ferntree Gully2022 - 631km : Phillip Island - Queenscliff

What a weekend... Aim for this weekend was to hit my 3000th Cache and have an awesome time on the cache crawl. Left early afternoon Friday iwh the muggle wife and headed up to Macedon stopping at a few caches along the way.Checked into our hotel in Macedon and then heading across to Riddell's Creek for the pre crawl dinner. A great crowd and some tasty food then it was back for an early night.Saturday morning I woke to a lot of rain that continued throughout the day, first stop was Sunbury for the 7am meet a few caches in the town and then up the road to Malmsbury for a pie and a coffee, next was onto Bendigo for lunch and a walk around the lake. After that it was on the road again to Colbinabbin for a cup of tea and to celebrate Roaming Howies 18,000 cache. The painted Silo's are amazing... next was a drive up to Echuca to check into the hotel. After a brief rest and a walk along the river we heading to the pub for dinner, followed by a few drinks in the Gin Distillery. In the morning I headed over to NSW to grab a few ad labs before the breakfast meet and then it was back on the road again to Cussen Park in Tatura for the CITO followed by lunch. After lunch it was onto the final stop in Seymour to celebrate the mazing cache crawl and my 3000th cache on my 6th Anniversary of Geocaching. A massive thanks to every who helped organise and support the event, everyone who hid the caches and gave me pointers when I was stuck. What an awesome community we have. 793Km covered and 116 Caches found... not a bad weekend. Thanks for the cache and the hideLog Book has been signed and Returned or answers sent to cache ownerFind #2926

Having travelled from Canberra by bus and arrived home yesterday morning, I borrowed my son's hoon car and drove out to Sunbury early this morning. It was great to see so many people here! Despite threats to tie me up and drag me along on the Cache Crawl, I headed off after this event to grab a nearby earthcache on my way home to perform my own cache maintenance. Thanks for the event, Watashi4! I hope that you all have a blast this weekend ??

17-Aug-24
What a great way to start the morning..nice catching up with people we met last night ??

17-Aug-24
An early start to get to the first cache crawl event. Lots of people and a bacon and egg McMuffin made for a very enjoyable event. A great start to the cache crawl. Thanks to all involved in organising.

17-Aug-24
An early start to the day today ..we found ourselves in a crowded Maccas .. at the first event of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl. Surprisingly the food came pretty quickly then we joined the group in the party room. Thank you Watashi4 for organising this event and to all the people who helped create this weekend experience.

17-Aug-24
An early start for this event, the first for the Great Victorian Cache Crawl. I always think the volume of the chatter is an indication of the success of an event and this certainly was loud and successful. Thank you Watashi4 for organizing it.

17-Aug-24
It was an early start to attend this event in Sunbury before heading out for a days caching

17-Aug-24
Well that was an early start!!!! Arrived 15 mins after the start time and missed the photo. But got our names in the log book and found a few caches in Sunbury before moving along the route.

17-Aug-24
Of course Mary & David were there. Great coffee as always. Had a chuckle at the FTF - her last find was in Romania. Now on to the next stage. Our thanks to Watashi4.

17-Aug-24
nice to see everyone!

17-Aug-24
We had a fantastic time at last years event crawl so there was no way known that we were going to miss this one, even though only half the team made the first leg.We were quite surprised to see the amount of teams that turned up for this one and it was great to catch up with friends that we hadn't seen for quite awhile. Many stories and laughs were had and all too quickly it was time to leave and start heading towards the next one. Many thanks for your first event.

17-Aug-24
Up early to attend breakfast, my last part of the crawl unfortunately. Maybe next year I will get to do the whole journey Thanks for organising Watashi4Regardskbucky

17-Aug-24
Thanks Watashi4 for organising the event. It was great to catch up with some familiar faces and some new ones. After safely dropping CrackerMum at the event, I was very surprised to win the "FTF" draw!! It spurred me to get access back to my account.

17-Aug-24
I missed the 2023 Cache Crawl as I was away interstate but this year I made sure that I was in town to be able to do the this years cache crawl.A great idea to have it over 2 days so there will be plenty of time to catch up with friends and find some caches along the way. After the dinner event last night it was then home to get some sleep then an early start for as all.We had the party room to ourselves and we quickly filled the room.Plenty of catching up and chats with fellow cachers and some planning on which way to go and what caches to find along the way. Thanks Watashi4 TFTCCEC.

17-Aug-24
An early start, with Bemused Keith, and we arrived to find the room buzzing with chatter. It's always a good time when Geocachers gather. Thanks for organising this event, Watashi4

17-Aug-24
Slotting into a gap waaaay back there in the car park, maybe in a different postcode even. We started the walk towards gz, this confused looking local, shaking his head, says "I've never seen it so busy on a Saturday morning!".

17-Aug-24
Well this doesn't bode well for our day - we were late to the first event and almost missed getting our names in the logbook! Ooops.

17-Aug-24
The alarm went off at 5.45am to get ready for the 2024 Cache Crawl. Stop one: Sunbury Maccas party room. Nice choice Plenty of room for 50-odd geo groups to start the morning.Such fun meeting up with so many people at 7am in the morning.Looking forward to a big. Day of caching and catch-ups. TFTC Smile

07:07Well, this has already been an adventure.A train just after 5 (yes, they have one of those in the a.m.) got me to North Melbourne. So far, so good. This was where the real fun was to begin: replacement buses on the Sunbury Line. One eventually arrived. Stopping all stations, just for fun. Fortunately, we made good time and I beat the sunrise.A quick detour for an Adventure Lab, and I walked into a crowd at the event which had only just started, officially. Thanks, Watashi4. Congratulations on holding your first event. What a way to begin. Some hello's, including the elusive tackle_head, and a few goodbyes on the way out the door to catch the replacement coach to Gisborne.See you all in Malmsbury.#9104

Hello All,We are currently at ~50 attendees!!Maccas have been worded up to have extra staff on - because it's normally pretty quiet at 7am on a Saturday in Sunbury! We have the party room booked and we will surely spill into the main dining area and that's totally OK! I dropped by recently at 8am on Saturday and there was 2 people in the dining area... so it should not be crowded!... well.. apart from all of us!There will be a log book of course, otherwise minimal formalities.Let's get food, team up - and go hunting!CheersWatashi4 / Andrew Entrance runs along the North side of the establishment, parking out the back.

Thanks to those who changed the format from last year, as the 12 midnight and early rise in the 2023 crawl was the hardest part for me. At least now the madness starts with a good sleep. Should be a great weekend. Thanks for the great amount of organising this takes.
