Thanks for another destination on our Cache Crawl weekend.Congratulations Roaming Howie on your 18,000th. It was only s couple of years ago you had less than me, youve certainly been busy to add the last 4000 to your tally.Thankyou for the Maltesers, Im not sure you really cooked the cake you claimed ??, and Belinda for the lemon slice, also the chai latte. You have put an enormous amount of your time and talents into providing us in the geocaching community, with such wonderful events as these cache crawls, Roaming Howie, and Im not only looking forward to completing my third in the series, but in 2025 as well.Hopefully next year it might run down the Eastern side, starting at Albury, and maybe pick up Corryong and Harrietville along the route.
*17/8/2024, Attended from 4:02PM, Find # 3868.*The silo art here was amazing. The lemon slice was delicious. We certainly live in a great state with so many varied places of interest and scenery. Im already thinking about next years crawl.**Thanks to RoamingHowie for hosting this Eventcache.**
Continuing the fun of the Cache Crawl, with Bemused Keith, we arrived at Colbinabbin to be impressed with the silo art. I have never been to this town before, and enjoyed our short visit. Thanks for bringing us here, RoamingHowie.
16:16After managing to complete the first three legs of this year's Cache Crawl by public transport (a suburban train, a replacement bus, a replacement coach, two trains and a local bus service), I travelled with ThePacman in his car on the next leg to Colbinabbin. And here we were, pulling up just as the crowd dispersed after the event photo. Well, it was raining, so better to get it done earlier rather than later.I haven't seen a large group disappear so quickly in ages, as they bolted for their vehicles and headed out.We got some cake before it was packed away, signed the log, quickly logged the Adventure Lab and followed suit. Thanks, RoamingHowie. A beautiful spot. Shame about the weather.Oh, and congratulations on your 18000th smiley #9121
We stopped at Colbinabbin, where the silo art was so beautiful. There were also plenty of different lollies, and I took a few for myself. Now, we're ready to head to Echuca next
Stunning silo art and a hot cup of tea, delicious lemon slice and some lollies. What more can you ask for at an event! Thanks.
Cake and sweets at the murals! A great location for an event and great photo opportunity. Nothing like a rain downpour to put a dampener on an event, but it did get us moving again! Thanks foe the cake and lollies Roaming Howie!
The cache crawl was on and this year apart from the Friday night dinner which I couldn't make it to I will be doing the whole crawl. Eventually the weather got better later in the day.Another great location for an event, enjoyed the lemon slice and it fueled me up for the trip to Echuca. Thanks RoamingHowie for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
I got some lollies before the rain started. Again. Unfortunately it was a no-alcohol allowed park. I must speak to the person who organises these things. [@CeeJayDenno](https://coord.info/PRWH6QE) arrived for the group photo and got a whiff of things to come.Fun times [@RoamingHowie](https://coord.info/PR5FGT7), thanks for organising. (I'm just kidding about the no-alcohol allowed park. Apparently the car park is not included in the exclusion zone...LOL)Cache on ??
Love the silo art work there.Lollies good for boost my energy. Thanks for host.??
Congratulations Andrew on your 18000th find!! WOO HOO buddy, that is awesome. ?????? The afternoon tea you put on was spectacular - thank you. What a lovely place Colbinabbin is to visit. We very much enjoyed the silo art here, OMG, it was AMAZING!!! and then we ventured on to our accommodation in Echuca and a delicious dinner at the Shamrock Hotel (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, THEY HAVE 101 DIFFERENT CHICKEN PARMAS THERE TO CHOOSE FROM!!), and it was next door to the official evening event, meaning that we could walk down to pop our names in the log and have a little dance with other caching buddies to the live music. My travel buddies include the gorgeous Snap Happy and the lovely TheDame.Thank you so much for hosting this event and for contributing to this fabulous Victorian Cache Crawl weekend that you organised!
Congratulations Roaming Howie on your wonderful achievement of 18,000 geocache finds! This location has such wonderful art work on the silos, thank you for bringing me here.A beaut weekend exploring Victoria with others on "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl". Thank you very much to all of the event hosts and to Geocaching Victoria.
What a spread! Lollies, lemon slice, mud cake... A great spot for an event, and CONGRATULATIONS to RoamingHowie on your 18,000th smiley! Thanks for organising and hosting this event, RoamingHowie ??
What a great place to hold an event. Plenty of other caching fun whilst we were here. And then the rain came and we scattered! The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 3: The Crawl from Sunbury to EchucaTwo days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]**Thanks RoamingHowie for organizing this great event. **
Find #18,000Happy International Geocaching Day!It was time to start the Great Victorian Cache Crawl and with scores of geocachers already in the area it was a great atmosphere. Plenty of social opportunities, loads of caches to find and just good fun to be had! With the car packed, there was only one thing left to do - Find some caches! This was one of the many stops made along the way.I love the silos at this location, so it made a great spot for a crawl stop, and a picturesque location for my milestone! The weather had been threatening all the way across, but it held off and we setup all the amazing snacks, including a homemade lemon slice from Grub62.We just managed to nab a group photo when the clouds gathered and we were all sent madly packing up and into our cars. We made it through this one, just!-Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
We have been here a few times for family history research. My family is from this area. There is even a Piepers Hill close by names after them. Thanks for bringing us back here with this event and huge congratulations on the milestone. It has been great joining you for some of your journey.
CONGRATULATIONS on the milestone. This was another well attended event, just a shame the weather didn't hold out a little bit longer. Love the silo art here. Thanks for bringing us here with this event.
**Found with the beautiful GoodLook and The (lovely) Dame.** *On our first Great Victorian Cache Crawl weekend*. The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less travelled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. Power trails just aren't as much fun by yourself. The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning, the coffee shops and pubs wonderful and the company divine. Many laughs ensued as we made our way North with 50+ of our closest a-cache-aintanes Thank you RoamingHowie for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. - PThanks for the virtual RoamingHowie. **Event** *#231***Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Cache on! **#18910**
I have it on very good authority that I really enjoyed this event. Thanks for creating it and thanks for all the other contributions to this hobby. TFTC.
If someone had told me that snacks provided actually meant pineapple lumps and caramel popcorn Id have been there half an hour early and finished them off before everyone else arrived. I guess thats why you keep it vague. What a killer location! Impressive silo art, heaps of room for schmoozing, dunnies for those who need them, and a mean homemade lemon slice. Thanks for hosting. I wont forget standing underneath those silos in a hurry.
In attendance for the great Victorian cache crawl 24An awesome set of murals here .Thanks for bringing us here. Roaming, Howie

We managed to get a group photo and then the heavens opened up and we all ran to our cars. Great spot though
What beautiful artwork and wonderful company and then the rain ??? Its been chasing us all day.
Fantastic silo art here! Ideal place for a cuppa and catch up until the rain?? Thanks RoamingHowie for the event and providing some yummy goodies.
The rains had passed and the patches of blue skies had appeared, then the sun poked through and all was good. We gathered at the food and drinks stall and much merriment was had. Then the rains came. Never seen so many people scatter and run. Thanks for the event.
While chook is away chunk will play. Out with wozzle and the tritons for cache crawl. Thanks to all the owners of caches that we will find, and may we make many more memory's.
A fantastic location for an event. Great Food and drinks with the Cache Crawl Crowd. Thanks RoamingHowie.
Another great location, great selection of food and drink, and great conversations. Thank you for organising this Cache Crawl and this event RoamingHowie.Congratulations on your 18000 find - a great spot to celebrate this milestone.
Another enjoyable cache crawl event. Great to get the opportunity to see some silo art work. Thanks to all involved in organising.
After an early start to the day today and a few events we made our was to Colbinabbin for the fourth event of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl. By now it was pretty wet but we were having fun and the silo art was amazing. Thank you RoamingHowie for organising this event and to all the people who helped especially OHC who kept that log safe and dry throughout
What a spreadloved the chocolate cake and popcorn! What a great job the behind the scenes people do greatly appreciated by us all!!!
The location of beautiful silo art was the setting for this the Great Victorian Cache Crawl event for the day and it was enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you RoamingHowie for organizing it and for your efforts slaving over a hot oven to provide the chocolate cache. Than you to all in the background who provided other delicacies for all attendees to enjoy. Lucky we had just finished the group photo when a sudden down pour had us rushing to our cars.
Great afternoon tea, unfortunately the rain spoiled the party and everyone quickly departed
Of course Mary & David were there. Fancy afternoon tea with the silo art as a backdrop. Our thanks to RoamingHowie.
A great Silo art setting for a lovely afternoon tea and to celebrate RoamingHowies 18 000 milestone. Congratulations and thanks for a great event.
The day is moving on quickly and the weather is attempting to be kind to us. The snacks that have been provided here were yum and just what we needed for an energy boost. Thanks for the event.
Event #4 of 5 for the day. The event started at 4pm. As we drive up to the event the sun was out and many geocaches were walking around happily taking photos of the silos and feasting on the afternoon tea supplied by RoamingHowie. By 4.15pm we were running for the car to get out of the rain. Another great event. Thank you RoamingHowie for hosting.Happy 18,000th RoamingHowie! ??
17 August 2024 16:16Third event of the Cache Crawl, which happened to be our first crawl overall .What an awesome way to socialise with our friends, and find caches all around this beautiful State we live in.Thank you to all the organisers for an excellent job in planning and organising which culminated in a super weekend ??.
This was the 3rd event that catnap777 and I got to having not made it as far away as the first two, and we followed the rest of the crawl to Echuca for dinner. It was a wonderful day in not so wonderful weather. We have both stood before these impressive silo's before, but never in such inclement weather. It was a bit of a shame that proceedings were cut short by a sudden downpour, but I'm sure we all dried of in time for tea.We look forward to seeing you all again at our CITO and lorigus74's lunch events at our home town of Tatura on day2 of "The Crawl". Thanks RoamingHowie for hosting the event and for the afternoon snacks....and thanks of course to the rest of the crew behind this series of events. [^]
Let them eat cake! Would you like some more cake? Hey! You took the smallest possible piece! I think we ended up having thirds with our seconds! Another great stage on the road up north. Onwards!
We had a fantastic time at last years event crawl so there was no way known that we were going to miss this one, even though only half the team made the first leg.We were quite surprised to see the amount of teams that turned up for this one and it was great to catch up with friends that we hadn't seen for quite awhile. Many stories and laughs were had and all too quickly it was time to leave and start heading towards the next one. Many thanks for the event, congratulations on your 18,000th find.
The first day of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 and 2 days of fun and laughs has started. After the breakfast event in Sunbury I gained a front seat passenger for the day and the dog and possum that usually occupy the front seat were not happy about the relegation to the back seat.We are heading north and we started looking for caches that jumped out on us or looked interesting in the time we had before arriving at the next event. We are hoping the rain disappears soon or hopefully its going to a quick park and fond kind of day.So after the third event for the day at Bendigo it was a now drive out to the town which I still cannot pronounce properly Colbinabbin for the fourth event for the day.A great back drop of silo art and a great spread put on by Roaming Howie for afternoon tea, I loved the lemon slice thanks very much.Congrats on your 18,000 cache finds. The rain soon had us scurrying for our cars. Thanks Roaming Howie TFTCCEC.
My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. Just to be different, we weren't the last to turn up to this event. ?? The chocolate treats went down well, had some chats, and admired the art work, before heading off for Echuca. Thanks for the cache, Roaming Howie.Hunter
Amazing are. Amazing spread of after tea. Thanks to all who made it !!A fun find on the The Great Victorian Cache Crawl - a cache and event filled weekend!!Thanks RoamingHowie and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! That was a quick snap before the heavens opened up and asked us politely to leave. Thanks for the event.
Late, late, very important date feeling very much like the white rabbit from Alice as I skulk in last AGAIN! Tftc and adventure.
Arrived just in time for the photo to be snapped and the clouds to open up!Quick count of the silo art, signed the event log and we dashed back to the car!Afternoon tea looked amazing! If it wasn't pouring, we would have stayed for some! Thanks for arranging the event and thanks to Lorigus74 for another rainy adventure!
