Spewin came to echuca this weekend for a bit of geocaching didn't realise there was an event on
What a lovely place Echuca is to visit. We very much enjoyed the day's festivities and various locations it took us to and after we checked into our accommodation in Echuca we decided to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Shamrock Hotel (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, THEY HAVE 101 DIFFERENT CHICKEN PARMAS THERE TO CHOOSE FROM!!), which was next door to this official geocaching cache crawl evening event. About 15 minutes from the official ending time we meandered from the Shamrock to this pub to chat with caching buddies and to pop our names into the log. When we arrived we also had a little dance with other caching buddies to the live music - so much fun.My travel buddies across the weekend included the gorgeous Snap Happy and the lovely TheDame. We also had fun caching with other caching buddies.Thank you so much for hosting this event and for contributing to this fabulous Victorian Cache Crawl weekend!
A beaut weekend exploring Victoria with others on "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl". Thank you very much to all of the event hosts and to Geocaching Victoria.
Other than a mega, I dont believe Ive ever seen so many cachers in one place at one time. A lovely meal, great conversations & catch-ups. Thanks for organising and hosting this event, gregandjudi ??
Happy International Geocaching Day!It was time to start the Great Victorian Cache Crawl and with scores of geocachers already in the area it was a great atmosphere. Plenty of social opportunities, loads of caches to find and just good fun to be had! With the car packed, there was only one thing left to do - Find some caches! This was one of the many stops made along the way.We finally made it to the final stop for the day, and so did almost 100 others. What a huge event! Great meals and a great atmosphere. A massive thanks gregandjudi for hosting this leg of the Great Victorian Cache Crawl.-Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
After checking into our overnight digs it was time for our evening event / dinner /catch up. A very fitting end to a long fun day. The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 3: The Crawl from Sunbury to EchucaTwo days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]**Thanks gregandjudi for organizing this great event. **
After checking in, we thought we would go up and have a drink or two whilst we waited for this event. We were surprised to arrive and find some people had already finished eating. It wasn't long and people were coming from everywhere. Thanks for this event and a delicious meal.
Another well attended event. We arrived a little early so as to have a slow down drink but we were definitely not the only ones that had that idea. The meal was absolutely yummy. Thanks for choosing this location for your event.
**Found with the beautiful GoodLook and The (lovely) Dame.** *On our first Great Victorian Cache Crawl weekend*. The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less travelled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. Power trails just aren't as much fun by yourself. The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning, the coffee shops and pubs wonderful and the company divine. Many laughs ensued as we made our way North with 50+ of our closest a-cache-aintanes Thank you gregandjudi for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. - PThanks for the virtual gregandjudi. **Event** *#232***Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Cache on! **#18911**
Found 7:22 pm{FTF} Lucky me! Another great event of the great crawl north. Had the chicken parama which was excellent. The pint of ginger on the other hand was rather expensive. Good times all round. Quite a large turnout. TFTC gregandjudi
Thanks to everyone that attended, it was a great turn out.We are glad everyone enjoyed the venue and the food, and I passed that onto the kitchen. Thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the crawl.
Well it was a mad dash to make it to this event...Car / tram / uber / coach / taxi and several hours later I darted through the door to put in my order before the bistro closed. It was nice to briefly see some geocachers and hear about day 1 of the cache crawl adventures.thanks, for showcasing Echuca - it is personally a special town as the first victorian town i moved to, lived and worked for 5 years at
Dinner time! Great company and having fun hearing everyone stories about today's caching adventures.
It has been a great day of Geocaching. The dark clouds only made the scenery more spectacular. We snuck in most outside events between showers. We are looking forward to tomorrow. TFTC.

Our final cache crawl event for the day Another well attended event with good company and good food, Thanks to all involved in organising.
After an early start to the day today and a finding a few caches and Adventure Labs and attending a few events, it was time for the final event of day for The Great Victorian Cache Crawl. The food was great. Thank you Gregandjudi for organising this event and to all the people who helped create this weekend experience.
What a weekend... Aim for this weekend was to hit my 3000th Cache and have an awesome time on the cache crawl. Left early afternoon Friday iwh the muggle wife and headed up to Macedon stopping at a few caches along the way.Checked into our hotel in Macedon and then heading across to Riddell's Creek for the pre crawl dinner. A great crowd and some tasty food then it was back for an early night.Saturday morning I woke to a lot of rain that continued throughout the day, first stop was Sunbury for the 7am meet a few caches in the town and then up the road to Malmsbury for a pie and a coffee, next was onto Bendigo for lunch and a walk around the lake. After that it was on the road again to Colbinabbin for a cup of tea and to celebrate Roaming Howies 18,000 cache. The painted Silo's are amazing... next was a drive up to Echuca to check into the hotel. After a brief rest and a walk along the river we heading to the pub for dinner, followed by a few drinks in the Gin Distillery. In the morning I headed over to NSW to grab a few ad labs before the breakfast meet and then it was back on the road again to Cussen Park in Tatura for the CITO followed by lunch. After lunch it was onto the final stop in Seymour to celebrate the mazing cache crawl and my 3000th cache on my 6th Anniversary of Geocaching. A massive thanks to every who helped organise and support the event, everyone who hid the caches and gave me pointers when I was stuck. What an awesome community we have. 793Km covered and 116 Caches found... not a bad weekend. Thanks for the cache and the hideLog Book has been signed and Returned or answers sent to cache ownerFind #2971
After a mini international pub crawl I eventually got to this event. Many thanks ????????????????????
Thank you Gregandjudi for this great event so many great people and so nice to catch up with even more!Attended during the weekend of the Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024
Well, what a large crowd. Quite a few faces I know and a lot I haven't seen before.Really great to catch up with some of the "old timers" from past years and a couple of newer cachers. It's rare that we have time for caching these days but couldn't miss an event on our own town.Thank you, gregandjudi, for hosting this event on behalf of the Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024.Event #96 and overall find #4305
A weekend away on The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024. Last year we completed half. This year we are aiming for the full crawl. After a great day, we were looking forward to stopping for the night. Feling a bit weary on arrival we soon sparked up with lots of conversations and so many people! Thanks gregandjudi for creating for us all to enjoy. A fabulous night and great meal. --------------------------------------------------------The nominees for the [**2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/2023-victorian-cache-of-the-year-awards/) have been announced. The venue was fully packed when I arrived. Great meals were provided and the volume of happy chatter confirmed another successful event. Thank you gregandjudi for selecting the venue and organizing the event. I am sure that I will be one of many tired but happy geocachers retiring to their accommodation to rest and prepare for another big day tomorrow.
So far, this has been an excellent weekend of caching and catching up with lots of familiar faces and some new ones. Thanks to gregandjudi for organising this evenings event
Of course Mary & David were there. Thanks to our hosts for booking this great pub. Great meals with quick service for such a big crowd. Our thanks to gregandjudi.
Another enjoyable meal and great company. Thanks gregandjudi for organising The Great Victorian Cache Crawl - Echuca we had a great time.
Omg.. almost forgot to log this. Great time meeting people and hearing about their experiences and the challenges they are doing..
Excellent venue, delicious food, great company. Thank you for hosting us all tonightThanks for the cache gregandjudi.
Event #5 of 5 for the day. A lovely evening to finish a huge caching day from Sunbury to Echuca. We enjoyed talking to caching friends and meeting new ones. The meals were delicious too. Such a huge turnout: the table was booked for 84 geocachers! (Thats almost a mega event, isnt it?!? ??) Thanks for organising a wonderful event
17 August 2024 17:48Third event of the Cache Crawl, which happened to be our first crawl overall .What an awesome way to socialise with our friends, and find caches all around this beautiful State we live in.Thank you to all the organisers for an excellent job in planning and organising which culminated in a super weekend ??. *The meal and the service in this pub was awesome. Please pass on our compliments to the staff.*
Great dinner with friends new and old with Geo tales big and small. Thanks for the fun
This was the 4th and final event on day 1 of the crawl that catnap777 and I got to (having not made it as far away as the first two). We crawled from Malmsbury for a bakery breakfast to Echuca for dinner. It was a wonderful day in not so wonderful weather. The caches and the company made it all worthwhile, and I'm sure we all dried of in time for tea.Cat' and I couldn't fault the service or the feed, but by this end of the day were keen to call it a day.We look forward to seeing you all again at our CITO and lorigus74's lunch events at our home town of Tatura on day2 of "The Crawl". Thanks gregandjudi for hosting the event. Great choice of venue. ...and thanks of course to the rest of the crew behind this series of events. [^]
Getting in early seemed to be the play of the day. Brisbane losing to Collingwood by 1 point when they were 3 goals up with 5 minutes to go was the very definition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Was great to catch up the the "family" at another stop on the cache crawl express
We had a fantastic time at last years event crawl so there was no way known that we were going to miss this one, even though only half the team made the first leg.We were quite surprised to see the amount of teams that turned up for this one and it was great to catch up with friends that we hadn't seen for quite awhile. Many stories and laughs were had and all too quickly it was time to leave but we do have the events tomorrow to look forward to.Many thanks for the event, a good finish to the day.
The first day of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 and 2 days of fun and laughs has started. After the breakfast event in Sunbury I gained a front seat passenger for the day and the dog and possum that usually occupy the front seat were not happy about the relegation to the back seat.We are heading north and we started looking for caches that jumped out on us or looked interesting in the time we had before arriving at the next event. We are hoping the rain disappears soon or hopefully its going to a quick park and fond kind of day.So after the four events during the day and some caching in between I have finally made it to the last event for the day, dinner. We nearly took over the place and a very delicious meal was had and washed down by a couple of beers as well.Time for some sleep then the breakfast event and then crawl back towards Melbourne tomorrow. Thanks gregandjudi TFTCCEC.
My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. Lovely dinner and lovely conversations had during this event. Thanks for the cache, Greg and Judi.Hunter
After driving through so many rainbows it was great to arrive here at the end of a very busy day. Thanks gregandjudi for hosting this event, and for your wonderful hospitality. It was great to see some of the locals - Little Squirell and Wazza there. The food was good, and the noise of all the excited geocachers actually drowned out the noise of the nearby band. It was a great idea to have made this series into a two day of events, giving us more of a chance to find caches in each area, and between destinations.Congratulations to the hosts organising each event, and ensuring that the folk in the kitchens are prepared for this number of guests arriving. So far it has been a most successful tour. Now to hit a pillow and prepare to do it all again tomorrow!
*17/8/2024, Attended from 8:08PM, Find # 3870.*Perfect stop here for a meal after a long day of travelling and caching. I chatted with some new friends over dinner. I highly recommend the steamed bao buns with char siu pork &house made slaw. They were delicious and the perfect size. **Thanks to gregandjudi for hosting this Eventcache.**
After booking into a caravan park, so I had somewhere to prop after dinner, I arrived at the hotel. Walking through the front door, I was surprised by the loud music, but found our group in a room further on, where we were able to talk, and be heard.Over dinner, it was good to be able to discuss the adventures of the day with fellow geocachers. Thanks for organising this get-together, gregandjudi.
The first thing we did was find a motel to stop at, and then we went around to a few caches. We stayed at The Echuca Hotel for a proper dinner and to relax. The three of us had plenty of chats, and while walking on the street, we noticed an outdoor fireplace. We stood by it to warm up. After chatting for a while, we decided to head back to the motel to prepare for the next day.
By a complete fluke, our accommodation turned out to be out the back of the pub! The Rustys is always in charge of accommodation and food stops and she nailed it booking this one. We were exhausted after a full on day of caching so it was wonderful that this event was a few steps away from beds. Truly winning with this one.
What a great end for our first day on the Cache Crawl! Great food and good venue, if maybe a bit noisy when the band was playing in the next room! As though we werent making enough of our own noise! Thanks for organising this event GregandJudi!
The cache crawl was on and this year apart from the Friday night dinner which I couldn't make it to I will be doing the whole crawl. Eventually the weather got better later in the day.Between the last event and here I did basically nothing apart from checking in to the motel and having a rest because I had a bit of a cold and a terrible sleep the night before so needed a break before arriving for a lovely meal of lamb shanks. Thanks gregandjudi for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
We cached, we crawled, we consumed! A fun evening event that was very well-attended.Thanks gregandjudi for hosting on this epic Cache Crawl.
My first time in Echuca and what better way to explore a new place than a caching weekend. We were very pleasantly surprised when we turned up to our accommodation and realised it was out the back of the dinner event hotel. Winner!!!!! By this stage of the weekend, wed made some new friends, so the dinner event was even more enjoyable. Thanks for hosting this event
19:28A walk from the icecream shop to the pub via a cache by the new bridge got me here half an hour before the event. So I got to say g'day and check the meals out before ordering mine. In the end, I chose the lamb shank, which was pretty good. The rest of the large, happy, noisy crowd joined the fun gathering until we filled the room. Thanks, gregandjudi. That was a fun event... though it was a relief to get out into the quiet night at the end.#9128
What a great way to end a long crawl day - good food and great company. Whilst I was tired after the drive, a quick bout of speed Ad Labbing beforehand had woken me up enough to enjoy a great event, thanks.
We had a great time catching up with other Geocachers. Thankyou to the organiser's of this event. Well done.Little Squirell
Wow, what a big group of cachers making it to Echuca on the Cache Crawl and to the dinner. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal and great company. Thanks gregandjudi for the event.
I see that both myself and Zeus, Hera and kids have RSVPd for each other, so you will have 2 less than stated.
