**Day 2, Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 (GVCC)**How good was that?!? The two-day format of the GVCC is a winner if you ask me, and hopefully here to stay. [@RoamingHowie](https://coord.info/PR5FGT7) you should be very proud of yourself for this wonderful chain of events, and also to the individual COs that put on excellent individual events for our geo-enjoyment! And this one didnt disappoint. Its a hard task to keep everyone invigorated and get everyone to the finish line, but Kristy youve done it again! A great array of treats and even a special cake!! And somehow I managed to guesstimate the distance travelled as 403km, winning the {FTF} prize by being closest to the pin of 398km! Awesome ??Thanks [@Kristysadventures](https://coord.info/PRXNC6Z) for hosting this final event. Soooo looking forward to next year already!*Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. **Found with the beautiful GoodLook and The (lovely) Dame.** Big Grin*On our first Great Victorian Cache Crawl weekend*. CoolThe thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less travelled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be.Wink I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. Power trails just aren't as much fun by yourself. SadThe weather was glorious, the vistas stunning, the coffee shops and pubs wonderful and the company divine. Big Grin Many laughs ensued as we made our way South with 50+ of our closest a-cache-aintanes WinkThe last event for the weekend - Loved the whole weekend CoolThank you Kristysadventures for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin - PThanks for the virtual Kristysadventures. **Event** *#235***Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Big GrinCache on! Cool**#18914**

18-Aug-24
And here endeth the lesson! After, getting close to, 48 hours with this crowd surging through the countryside, stampeding past (and stopping to sign) caches, lots of knowing nods, waves, smiles - it's time to pack away the bag of crazy and return to the normal and the humdrum (well...maybe for a few of us Wink ) Thankyou all again for a wonderful adventure, may there be many more!

18-Aug-24
We arrived a little late to this event but luckily still got a piece of the delicious cake. A nice finish to an amazing weekend. My first cache crawl but wont be my last. Thanks to Kristyadventures for organising this event and to all involved in this amazing cache crawl.

18-Aug-24
What a great weekend this has been! Thanks to all who were involved , sad to to see this weekend finish but what great memories I have stored

18-Aug-24
My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. We arrived with 7 minutes to go before the end of the event. There were still heaps of people around, and we signed at the bottom of the log book. Was surprised to see the event being packed up before the end, only to find out I must have entered the event times in my diary wrong. Oops. Now, if there was an FTF available, things might have been different. ??Thanks for the cache, Kristys Adventures.Hunter

Of course Mary & David were there. The last Cache Crawl Event! We loved the yellow ribbons and the whole concept. Spreading over two days is certainly the way to go. Loved the celebration cake too. Bring it on again in 2025. Our thanks to Kristysadventures.

18-Aug-24
I had decided to join the second day of *The Great Victorian Cache Crawl*... starting in Tatura. After finding 8 caches around Tatura, joining the CITO and lunch event, and heading off early for a wine tasting at Tahbilk, I made it to Seymour to join in the final celebration of a great weekend for many... and a great day out for me. Thanks **Kristysadventures** for organising this event.

18-Aug-24
The second day of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 and 2 days of fun and laughs is in full swing. So after an event on Friday night then five events yesterday which included a delicious tea and with quite a few caches along the way then a bit of a sleep it was time for day two of the crawl. So after a great start to the morning with a snag or 2 for breakfast then a trip up to the Barmah State Forest then some silo art thrown in it then a CITO and the second last event for the day at Tatura. Now for the finale at Seymour. How best to celebrate a fantastic Cache Crawl then with cake and some great friends.A big thank you to all of the COs, their helpers and to Roaming Howie for putting it all together I had a fantastic time. Also a big thank you to Kristysadventures for the cake and the set up of the band stand.Bring on next year. Thanks Kristysadventures TFTCCEC.

18-Aug-24
Today is the last one; no more cache crawl. It's sad for everyone, but hopefully, we'll do it again next year. I enjoyed myself with the cache crawl from Sunbury to Seymour. I arrived home safely and am feeling worn out. Many thanks for your excellent organising of the cache crawls.

18-Aug-24
It's been great fun doing the Cache Crawl this year, and picking up other caches along the way. With little time to rest, due to my own extra long list of desired finds, I'm pleased to have reached the final event. Chatting with caching friends, both old and new, gave a fitting end to the adventure.I'm tired now. I think I'll go home. Thanks for hosting this event, Kristysadventures

18-Aug-24
The cache crawl was on and this year apart from the Friday night dinner which I couldn't make it to I will be doing the whole crawl. Today on the return trip the weather was much better and it was much more enjoyable not needing the raincoat all the time.I arrived a little late which was bad because I had some of the stuff needed for the event but all was well and after a very sweet of cake it provided the energy for the drive home and then end to a wonderful weekend. Thanks Kristysadventures for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

18-Aug-24
Thanks Kristysadventures for the amazing cake, and for hosting the last of the fabulous events of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl.Special thanks to WeAreGleesos and lorigus74 who offered me a lift home from Seymour so I could attend this final event, thus completing my entire third cache crawl.Otherwise weirdobiker, who had collected me from the train station in Seymour on Friday, and chauffeured me to the Prequel event in Riddells Creek, was going to take me back to Shepparton from the Tatura Event, on her way home. This was a wonderful event and a beaut way to finish the crawl.Great to catch up with retired cacher Hembee whilst there.A special thankyou to the wonderful geocaching community who chauffered and hosted me during the weekend, without whom none of this would have been possible.

18-Aug-24

15:15Day 2 of this year's Cache Crawl...Travelling today's legs with ThePacman. And here we are at the end. What a trip. Thanks, Kristysadventures. I enjoyed my lollies and slice of cake, and celebrating a fun weekend with you and everyone else. While I had to choose between travelling solely by public transport and attending all the events, I'm glad I managed to do the latter, thanks largely to ThePacman. Three events along the railway lines was a good result. Maybe next year will be planned with that in mind. Now for the trip home: in an MX5 with the top down, courtesy of Long John Silva. Now that's what I call finishing in style.#9148

What a weekend... Aim for this weekend was to hit my 3000th Cache and have an awesome time on the cache crawl. Left early afternoon Friday iwh the muggle wife and headed up to Macedon stopping at a few caches along the way.Checked into our hotel in Macedon and then heading across to Riddell's Creek for the pre crawl dinner. A great crowd and some tasty food then it was back for an early night.Saturday morning I woke to a lot of rain that continued throughout the day, first stop was Sunbury for the 7am meet a few caches in the town and then up the road to Malmsbury for a pie and a coffee, next was onto Bendigo for lunch and a walk around the lake. After that it was on the road again to Colbinabbin for a cup of tea and to celebrate Roaming Howies 18,000 cache. The painted Silo's are amazing... next was a drive up to Echuca to check into the hotel. After a brief rest and a walk along the river we heading to the pub for dinner, followed by a few drinks in the Gin Distillery. In the morning I headed over to NSW to grab a few ad labs before the breakfast meet and then it was back on the road again to Cussen Park in Tatura for the CITO followed by lunch. After lunch it was onto the final stop in Seymour to celebrate the mazing cache crawl and my 3000th cache on my 6th Anniversary of Geocaching. A massive thanks to every who helped organise and support the event, everyone who hid the caches and gave me pointers when I was stuck. What an awesome community we have. 793Km covered and 116 Caches found... not a bad weekend. Thanks for the cache and the hideLog Book has been signed and Returned or answers sent to cache ownerFind #3008
