I was on foot while my car was in service, and I still had a couple more hours to go before it was ready I made a detour to find some caches, and as a few more km to my days walking. Thanks for the cache.
Maintenance review. Cache in good condition. Log in good condition. Sufficient room for entries. Good to go.
A midweek day off and nothing planned, so an easy choice to go caching for the day!TFTC Wilbert67
Made my way to GZ and got worried thinking it was one of thooooose. But my arrow pointed elsewhere. I stood and read previous logs. I looked up from my phone and straight at the container which Im very familiar with. Too easy in the end! TFTC
Today frazeydaze and I headed over to Gregory Hills to grab some of the COs caches including those in The Old TV Westerns Series. Being a child of the forties I can remember the first family TV arriving In the household at the end of the fifties. I also remember the TV shows mentioned in this series, however, as I had little say on what was watched I probably only was a regular viewer of four or five of the shows. I do remember that two of my favourites were Rawhide and Have Gun Will Travel with Paladin - gee I wanted one of his business cards. Another one that I enjoyed and that's not included in the series was Wagon Train staring Ward Bond.Don't ever recall watching this one. Probably because it aired before a TV entered the household. No problems sorting out the rangers in the credits. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC
Out caching with oldmorty.I remember watching most of these Westerns but dont know if they were the original broadcasts or replays.Quick find of cache. Thanks to Quiffle for the memories.
A fun take on this kind of hide. Found the right one immediately and quickly signed and replaced. TFTC
Love the effort and thought put into different types of containers. w/RabyRoamers. TFTC.
This was a nice lesson for geonewbie friend with me today on a common camouflage. Loving the variation so far in the series.
These Old TV Westerns (OTVW) bring back fond memories from my youth. Watching on the old B&W TV, so much smaller than today's widescreen monsters, I enjoyed many of these shows about the cowboy heroes facing saving the day while riding in the old wild west. Now that the OTVW series is complete (well I think so), I decided to get the Brewmobile out of the corral, head out of The Shire and venture into The Wild West. A self-imposed covid isolation period for the last week or so, meant I was eager to get back on the caching horse. This and a bunch of other Quiffle caches, were just the tonic to fix me up. After today's adventure, I think I have a new word: Quiffling - the art of finding several caches placed by Quiffle on the one day. With this one in my sights, I wandered to #3. The hint had me thinking the worse, then I realised that the options I should be considering were much easier. Though it still took me a few attempts to discover the right one. Some plentiful natural camo made sure it is well hidden. With this one done, it was time to move my horse closer for the next one - Lucky #7! TFTC
This took us a few minutes to find as we started our searching at the same location and moved in opposite directions, initially missing the starting point, which was where the cache was. Such is 'caching. TFTC Quiffle
3 of 5Still no repeated preamble! Another short drive found me close to the next GZ. Reading the hint and realising my device was having a day, I initially thought the wrong type of hide here, thank goodness the satellite image showed me the error of my ways thank goodness. A systematic search eventually located the hide! Nice one! Autumn leaves definitely helping with this one!TFTC
I've done well today, yet another cache in a busy area that I've parked mere metres from. I walked on over, checked the place I expected, found nothing. Then I saw several suspicious somethings and checked them all out. Still nothing. After spreading out my search a little and checking some other likely spots, I returned to the suspicious somethings. And that's when I realised I'd only checked about half of them. The cache was found about two thirds of the way through a proper check.Oftentimes this container can be boring - it's too obvious or it's a needle in a haystack. This right here was an excellent balance to repel boredom.
Out and about with The Booos on a beautiful day we made the find signed and returned as found TFTC
Streak Day #3971 - Out this way with Dave8153 for our cache of the day, stopped by for a quick find. TFTC
25 May 2024This is find number: 9732Streak Day: 3082Found Today with Snoopy1976, a quick and easy find. ThanksThanks to Quiffle for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Arrived at GZ and located several red herrings before locating the correct one and the cache log, thanks.
Remember it from a previous life, great theme ,Texas Rangers fight for rights and justice. Another similar western at the same time was Mackenzies Raiders, who were authorised to stop bandits crossing the Rio Grande from Mexico into Texas .Undercover they ventured into Mexico knowing that to be caught meant a US court martial. TFTC
I used to love The Texas Rangers and I can still sing the theme song. Too bad this series is too far away for me to try for a FTF.
One of many American Western TV shows which we saw in Australia in the 1960s and in black and white - if you were fortunate enough to have a TV and afford a TV Licence .As per CO advise parked in Bunnings walked to GZ around 250 metres . On arrival I assumed the obvious area as the hint sort of indicated but alas , Apple didn't agree with me but moved to a more shaded area . I then realised what the hint meant , then the search began until I choose correctly . On opening the cache and being FTF , new coordinates where given to me which ended up being nearby presented me with FTF Coin. TFTC Quiffle
