Can I just say wow - thank you for placing a cache in this area and bringing my body to it today. A hidden tropical oasis that I knew nothing about before hand but realised so much more after. Immediately taken by the giant Morton Bay figs and the gorgeous shade plants and the art sculpture dotted throughout. Quickly found the cache thanks to the hint and re-hid it a little more out of sight. It was only on the way out and reading a the signs on the nearby house that I realised that this is where Brett Whitely once lived and painted. The penny dropped hard as I remembered all of the art that I had studied about him and his famous Lavender Bay studio, kinda like mental jigsaw puzzle pieces falling into place. How amazing to be in the place where his inspiration was drawn from, created by his wife who was also his muse. ???This was really special and Ill need to come back to explore more. TFTC.
We were over this way doing maintenance on one of our caches and ventured forth to make a find on this one. Oh those steps! TFTC DrewskiAndFAM.
A few finds somewhere far from my usual haunts. Grey overcast evening near the harbour. Spotted the cache after some GPS dancing at first. Signed the log. Quick find with thanks to DrewskiAndFAM.
I quite like walking around this area. Thanks for giving us another reason to do just that. TFTC!
Found and replaced yesterday morning but didnt have a pen to sign! What a beautiful view of the Harbour Bridge.
Stopped off at Lavender Bay North Sydney, on my way home from a night shift at the airport, for this Traditional cache that had appeared on the geo-map since my last visit to the area. Being nice & early on a Saturday morning there was no problem getting a parking spot close to the cache, at the southern end of Walker Street, then headed over Lavender Street and down the steep steps to the cache location for a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. It's a lovely spot, with views out over Lavender Bay to the Sydney Harbour Bridge & Sydney's CBD, and only a very short stroll to Wendy's Garden, which is always a delight to visit. Now to get my early morning exercise going back up those steep steps, then off home for some much needed sleep. TFTC DrewskiAndFAM.Find #7071
Sneaky! Lots of muggles around at this time of the morning - max stealth required. Forgot a writing tool so picture (with no clues) attached.
Very easy to find (as it slipped out of its hiding place.. lucky it was still there). Enjoy wonderful spot
This cache is in a part of Lavender Bay that has some special historical locations, not to mention the views!I'm local so I've walked these stairs lots of times, mostly with my previous geodog. Some mornings I would pass a previous Prime Minister while he was in office, with his entourage, who didn't seem to be enjoying those stairs but struggling along. Today there were lots of walkers too. I waited for a large group of school muggles to pass the stairs then I headed down and found the cache only to look around to see a group heading down towards me. They turned out to be on a history walk. There were about 30 of them so I headed up a path which said Residents Only while they passed. I returned the cache as quickly as I could before any more walkers appeared!TFTC # 6154
"Easy find with the tourist battle cat. TFTC" ~ GHHHThat's me!A nice quick find here, quite familiar with these steps since usually when I visit Sydney we occupy the hotel which is only about 200m away. Bit of a workout for my exhausted legs on the way up though, theyve gone through a lot recently! Thanks DrewskiAndFAM for placing this cache!
TFTC from the Kayakviking! Quick find once found the level. Then a wander thru gardens.Cheers KV
More of a lunchtime exercise for me with the coordinates slightly out by a few metres but pretty much an easy one
What a truly fantastic area. You can get a real workout doing a circuit or two on the two sets of stairs. Found on a nice walk along Lavender Bay with Lulu.TFTC!!!
I decided to try to find this one while doing a neighbouring AL. Despite the fact that it was already pitch black and there were minimal streetlights in the area, I managed to find this one instantly and quickly signed and returned it. The stairs certainly were a pain on the way up towards North Sydney station though, true to the description.
Only a couple of brush turkeys for company at gz this morning. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC.
Certainly got exercise on these stairs, even if it was in the afternoon. OCW Brewmaker en route to the Beer O'Clock Event at Gladesville. TFTC DrewskiAndFAM
The hardest part of this was opening the lid. Quick find at GZ. Nice views from the top. TFTC
A quick visit to Wendy's Garden and we had to find this one. Thanks so much for introducing us to Lavender Bay!
Our second cache here in McMahons Point. We went down the stairs and found the cache. TFTC
I always enjoy a cycle over the coat hanger and a new cache is just the excuse. Such a lovely area with beautiful views. Found the cache, had a seat to take it in then back over the bridge. Thanks for sharing this amazing location DrewskiAndFAM. #2725
What a beautiful garden this is. I'll have to come back one day and do the two night caches in the area.Coords were a little out for me, but with the hint just kept looking till it became obvious. Thanks for the cache!
Rizzy24 picking up your cache after a walk in the Secret Garden. Hidden on the day of our 10th wedding anniversary. Thanks for the hide.
Stopped by these serious steps which have lots of offshoot stairways too. We may have been beaten to FTF however we were actually the first to sign the log! SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
