Just the one today, and decided to target the *SideTracked* cache at St Leonards. Obviously. But where to park. I ignored the free 3 minute parking right near GZ - should have taken it as that's about as long as the actual find took.Ended up a few hundred metres away - also a free spot. On reflection I probably should have used the shopping centre carpark close by.Ended up at a familiar area and so looked for a similar placement. Wasn't too long before I spotted something suss. CIH!Signed, replaced and then the long walk back to *The Hademobile*.My 100th *SideTracked* cache is not far off!SLTNLNTFTC
Cache container has been replaced with something with a bit more camo. Very close (within 50cm, maybe less) to the old cache.
Out for an early morning cycle nth over the bridge collecting a couple of more recent ones. At this one, no muggles to be seen at 5am. Quickly found with cycle torch proving helpful. Interesting container, log is slightly suffering but no problem if care is taken. Thanks for placing this cache DiscoBob3 #3031
Oldmorty and I had a selection of caches north of the Parramatta River to find today and all were found! Have been here before and like then, this was quick find with no one watching us. TFTC!
Headed over the bridge today with morty8888 to grab a few caches. It was a quick park and grab for us today after getting a parking spot next to gz. Cache is all good. SLRC as found. TFTC
Found It!A slightly unusual cache container that didn't take me long to find. Then I made the mistake of dropping it into the gap between the stairs. Luckily I was just able to fit into the gap to retrieve it, and put it back where I found it!TFTC
Stopped off here during our trip into town with ilook4geo. Happy to add another SideTracked cache to the tally. It was a nice easy find and the log was soon signed. SideTracked cache 212 now added to our list of finds. Thanks for this cache placement go to DiscoBob3.
Had a nice easy find here with goingplaces2 and all was replaced as found after signing. SideTracked cache No. 206 for us. TFTC.
Out caching in the area, after catching the train down from the central coast. The weather is good and I am having a nice day. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
I had to come to the city today to collect my new passport, so I figured I'd make a day of it and stop for a few caches while heading home on the train to the Central Coast. This SideTracked cache was my primary target and after alighting from the train, I headed to GZ and thanks to a very helpful hint, was able to locate the cache without any problems. An interesting repurposing of what would otherwise have ended up in the bin ... good work, DiscoBob.Thanks also for providing this opportunity for me to add to my growing tally of SideTracked finds.
#15140 7:35I was in a similar position as fellow geocacher Falconvola. With only 57 meters from the comfort of my desk to this cache, there was a good chance of a FTF. But only if the cache would have been published on any other day than Friday as that is my working-from-home day (unless there is a Beer O'Clock event to attend). So it was quite painful to read how young GHHH stole my FTF A fun hide and nice to see some more caches coming in this area. But please, publish only Tuesday to Thursday
I decided to take the trains today and do some sidetracked caches. It meant I could read and relax on the way and not worry about the busy holiday traffic. After Meadowbank, I changed plans and headed to St Leonards, where I met Its_Dozzie for lunch. Then it was off to this new one, which was quickly found thanks to the hint. A very unique cache container, I must say. Signed and replaced, then off to Artarmon.Yes, Its_Dozzie does work within sight of this cache. TFTC
Find #: 3,722Companions: NoneMuggles: Not reallyWeather: Damp spring eveningCache condition: GoodI completed this in the intended ST manner, i.e. taking a break on my commute home, having caught an earlier train from the city. It was drizzling when I got to GZ, but thankfully I quickly spotted the container. I echo earlier comments - nice to see a different form of log-holder! TNLNSL TFTC
I cannot believe that a new cache has popped up right in St Leonards where I work. Now I usually work Fridays as well, but alas I was away on the day it popped up. Not too much to rue though as it seems the FTF was snapped up incredibly quickly. In any case, the shape of the log was indeed like nothing I'd ever seen before. Now that there's a cache at this bridge, which I walk over all the time, I know it'll bring a smile to my face every time I walk over it knowing it's there. TFTC!(Logged under my previous username, 'hjckrau'.)
A quick 30 minute outing between showers on a Sunday afternoon provided 3 cache finds.I too was able to get free parking right opposite GZ, no chance on a weekday as there's only 2 spots. There was a previous cache here a few years ago, same hiding spot but a very different container. In 6000+ finds I've never seen anything like that before!I remember the station being here, across the road, which many people thought was actually much more convenient, and back here again. Only now it is a bit further north of the original platforms. One lovely feature that did not survive the rebuilding was the Station Master's Cottage. It was a gorgeous historical Federation structure. For many years it was a restaurant - lovely food and a very interesting view. It was Heritage listed but even that doesn't save some things. TFTC # 6233 and one more for my SideTracked portfolio.
I got a free park right opposite GZ. A quick search had CIH at the right level. TFTC DiscoBob3
i saw this one pop up less than an hr before i arrived at st leonards station last night and ALREADY had a ghhh ftf (how are u SO speedy??). i spent 10 minutes searching in the dark before i gave up and went to get dinner instead. came back this morning and spotted it instantly haha. i guess my night vision is very poor def the first time ive ever seen a log like this. TFTC!
[FTF]More bouldering more FTF. Reading the hint I scoured everywhere until I found it. Interesting shape and pretty clever. Signed my name and left. Thanks for adding a cache to this great area. TFTC
