Quick find here. Just the way we like it. Love your work. Nice park.Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Woden's day the sixteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Always enjoy a good letterbox cache with a difference and this was one, the cache was a good journey with a good hideTravelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
I had an appointment in the area yesterday and after I finished up, it was just too nice of weather to go home straight away. So I figured I'd try and grab a cache or two hidden by one of my all time favourite COs, [Kristysadventures](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2).The snuggle muggle and I were overseas in the USA during the Cachemas season and so I missed out on all of the Cachemas festivities. So I definitely have a bit of catching up to do, and so I couldn't miss the opportunity to attempt to find this one. I had a lot of fun playing eye spy at the various waypoints and was fairly easily able to gather the correct information and work my way from waypoint to waypoint. I did have a little bit of trouble with the most western waypoint, however after a few double checking of numbers eventually the checker allowed me to move on. The cache page was definitely correct on the time that this cache took. I think I had finally calculated GZ at around the 90 minute mark, so the *"1 to 2 hours walking time and to play the elves eye spy "* estimate was spot on. Of course, I didn't actually bother to read this time estimate before attempting this cache and by the time I arrived at GZ the sun had completely set.*Well who doesn't love a bit of night caching!*Although I do inded love a bit of night time adventures, I wasn't prepared with a proper torch and so I attempted to find this one with only the torch on my phone. However, after a lot of searching, no cache was found. I then decided to resort to the hint. *Ok... let me check there...* Well still no cache. I even reached out to the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2), who was kind enough to even give me an extra hint.Of course just as I got the extra hint, I stood up and was almost face to face with a muggle who had seen my phone torch waving around like crazy. So not only did I almost give them a heart attack, I about gave myself one! Well at that point my social anxiety kicked in and I knew I wasn't going to be able to explain what I was doing and so I just awkwardly left. Well the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2) today went above and beyond and checked on this cache for me and confirmed it was still there. So after work I came back, this time I was able to head straight to GZ, and just like the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2) had mentioned the cache was still there and I was able to locate it after a nice quick search. *Just goes to show me, that I should always have a proper torch in the geomobile, never know when a night caching opportunity might arise.*Anyways I had an absolute blast working through this one, **[Kristysadventures](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2)** you always find some of the most interesting art and find such great ways to highlight them. So a huge thanks for such a fun caching experience. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
I started this letterbox cache last week, but the weather was bad and I had trouble with some of the numbers, so I took some photos and sorted out my mistakes at home. I returned today and completed the rest of the steps easily, proving that nice weather helps. All went smoothly and I was soon signing the log. This was a very satisfying cache to complete.
Did all the waypoint legwork for this one arvo late last week, but with fading light and running out of free time decided to leave the final for another day.Had thought that would be maybe mid next week, but late this afternoon with the day's icy temperature and winds continuing I figured it was worth swinging past GZ on my way home from running some errands, and seeing the coast clear decided to have a quick look. Was glad I didn't pursue it the other night, as my line of sight "guesstimation" of the final-final location (based on instructions from the last waypoint's geocheck info) was a bit off, and with correctly pre-calculated coords to hand today I found the decent-sized container in about a minute.Signed the log, thanks for the fun Kristysadventures - and a belated "Merry Cachemas" to you, Merry Elf and Joy Elf!
Aim to log TDOC24 caches today. Kristysadventures, thank you for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Visited twice now. Got to WP3 even though its saying the next location is waypoint 3. Too many waypoints for my liking where it no longer becomes fun and just frustrating, especially having to spend so much time with the phone. Tried to brute force the GZ but no luck there either. Thanks anyway KristysAdventures.
I thought I had better start doing some Cachemas 2024 caches and this was nearby so smallest geokid and I headed out for a look and some lunch. At the start point there would have been about 40 people playing pokemon but then we blended right in.Got to the frogs and nearly had to wait 10 minutes for the checker because we ran out of guesses but eventually worked out a combination to continue on. The next couple of points we didn't do anything wrong which was amazing until the end where I totally misread the instructions and was searching in some bushes and found a cute little house under a tree that we thought must be it, but no... Once I realised my stupid mistake we kept walking (yes the whole way) and finally after initially trying to guess roughly were the cache was and stepping over it at one point in time. I then went back and properly projected the waypoint and made the find where I wasn't looking properly before.Pretty burnt out now after all those clues and waypoints and calculations so I am now back on the recliner typing in my log. So one TDOC24 down, quite a lot to go... It was well laid out though so I'm giving it a favourite. Thanks Kristysadventures for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
Omegaman1971??Support Your Local Villain?? ??Live - Laugh - Lurk?? First To Find: 161Sidetracked Cache Finds: 131Out and about with Rebel Acts, spreading Christmas joy. The weather wasn't great, but it didn't matter when finding plastic.Cheers for the cache!
Out and about today for a rather impromptu geocaching trip with Brain. Not even realising that he was actually in town, I sent out a message to him saying... .wait a minute when did you get here. So with a little bit of on the fly planning we managed to organise a couple of hours to go out and grab a couple of caches before returning him home for a family dinner.
Out and about with omegaman, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. This is one of the caches found today. We had escaped the evil Grinch but the elves here were just as evil. Thanks Kristysadventures for the cache. bah humbug!
Thanks to all the early finders. The directions have been updated to help future geocachers.
Thanks to all the first finders. Cache is in good condition and trash removed at GZ.Happy cachemas!
Weather dependant, we meet up with quiet1_au on Tuesday late arvo after he finishes work, so we were glad that it really was a mild day today compared to recently. We had found a trad nearishby and it was still too light to head to the night cache we were planning to do, so we decided to play eye spy with some local elves We arrived at the LC and soon had some co-ords for the next location. We hadnt realised that there were so many steps to this cache but it was fun and they were all close in distance. Arriving at this next WP it appears that one of the items had moved but we were still able to locate it/them. Onto the next spot where we made a couple of errors but then got there. We came unstuck at the next point as one of the questions didnt seem to require a digit so we took a guess and entered every number between us, however they were all wrong hmmmm. Ohhhhh the minutes have changed lol ok now on to the next WP. It was dark by now and we were a bit confused if we had to do anything here and decided to just head to the next co-ords in the info and then performed the final duties which lead us to GZ. It was pitch black by now so it took a little bit of a hunt before GMelb found the cache in an appropriate spot. As it was later than expected, this cache ended up being our night cache for the evening so we parted ways heading off home to a yummy dinner cooked by MMelb lol TFTC Kristysadventures - hope those cheeky elves are behaving themselves!! - GJMMelb
With it still being quite light G&J of GJMMelb and I decided to give this letterbox a go, one I had looked at but knew I needed to visit to get the information (no armchair solving this time alas! ) Little did we know that that would never have worked anyone as the elves led us on a merry chase! Information gathered at the starting point led us to WP1 where we had to hunt for the information a bit (the photo confirmed one spot, the other stood out easily too). WP2 we made a mistake but soon had the correct coordinates and off we went again, the light fading fast (or we walk too slow - or both!) WP3 caused us a little trouble as one of the questions didn't seem complete/make sense so we tried all combinations - and then some again when J noticed she'd used a wrong digit. Boy the checker ads and on the phone is quite annoying, many typos, screen jumping around, etc. Argh! Eventually we got the green light for - another waypoint... So we headed there and after some confusion headed off to another spot (not visible as it was now quite dark) but once there we knew we were in the right place and the GZ was soon figured out and after a bit of a search G had the cache in hand. Phew! Oh well, although it was now the perfect time for the night cache we were going to get we decided to save it for another night and headed home for dinner. TFTC - a favourite point from me for a fun letterbox cache and an evening stroll.
Well I finally realised that Cachemas was happening. Had been distracted by work. Well a new cache in my area? A Kristyadventures letterbox - all the parks I regularly walk. Started this on Sunday morning walk - then realised the enormity of the task - and thank her for the research and set up. On Sunday evening , I did a few more stages and did located GZ. - after a few mathematical errors. It is dark, but Ill try .. GZ is obviously frequented by a few people as there is an assortment of rubbish. Gave up after 10 mins as I was going around circles. This morning in the light again I wondered whether it had been muggled- but walking back a trail it was there and I realised why it was not seen well at night. On opening , the log is there but the book is not - so cant send a message to the elves for the 2 hours of romping around the parks. I have at least one cache this Cachemas. ! Thanks Kristyadventures- have a fav for all the work you put in and adding to the local caches.
20/07/202412:25 PM{2TF} with nirgalagrinAfter attending the "International Moon Day (yes, it's a thing)" event at Melbourne Observatory, I teamed up with nirgalagrin to have a crack at this new addition to the TDOC24 series.A lovely wander in an area that I have found myself geocaching in on many occasions. All the waypoints were worked out quite easily (if you pay attention to detail).A short search at GZ soon had the present in hand at 12:25pm.Today I remembered to carry my Letterboxing (Autograph) Book and stamp with me.Thank you to Kristysadventures for the enjoyable *walk in the park* Letterbox Hybrid. ***Certainly worthy of a Favorite Point!***
12:25I spy, with my little eye... a new Letterbox hybrid. So after celebrating International Moon Day, n0w0rries and I took ours-elves for a walk to see what we could see. Many things, as it happens. We managed to not get tripped up by the wording of some of the questions we had to answer, and muddled through the checkers to a likely area... where, surrounded by appropriate camouflage, I spied the cache.Oh. **2TF**Thanks, Kristysadventures, for leading us up the garden path.#9034
I was just slowly finishing up work for the week, which was going to take me an hour when I saw this geocache get released. Funnily enough, I was finished in 2 minutes. ?? That meant I was onsite before any of the local schools were released from their first week of Term 3. That and with the bad weather meant I had the whole place to myself. I slowly worked my way thru the Letterbox stages. Every one of the stages had me thinking I had the next way point quickly, but obviously, my I Spy skills sometimes weren't working as effectively as the CO. Also, a few times I miss read the clues. Very nicely done here. At the halfway mark, the rain really started coming down. Luckily, I had parked right near the next way point and ran to the car, and sat in it, working out the next location. The last step was unexpected, but it didn't trick me, and the checker said I was spot on.Very nicely done and unusual Letterbox, and the only negative was the rubbish at the final. The Christmas trees at the final of this TDOC cache was a nice touch, however. Thanks for the cache, Kristys Adventures.HunterPS.6,712nd Geocache160th Letterbox Cache 453rd [FTF]
