Thank you for hosting this geocaching Event! The date of the Event has passed. We automatically archive Events after 30 days (60 days for Mega- and Giga-Events). Attendees can still log archived Events, log trackables, and share their experiences.
#23861. An enjoyable event that was a bit different from most caching events (first joint geocaching / guides / scouts event I'd been to). Good to be able to help answers questions from the guides and scouts (hopefully the answers I gave didn't contain too many errors). Thanks for organising.
Lovely idea for an event, and we'll attended! I am glad I could join albeit for a short while. Thank you for organising!
Thank you for organising this Event, knotobsessed - great fun meeting the Guides & Scouts and helping them with their queries etc. Also good to catch up with the other cachers.
I believe I heard rumblings of this event at [GCA9ZNM](https://coord.info/GCA9ZNM) which was nearly a year ago. knotobsessed had mentioned this a few times also, so it was great to hear that it was coming together! I had advance notice that it was coming up as I had a preview of the cache listing. A brilliant idea to get the scouts and guides together under one roof, I certainly don't recall doing anything similar when I was a Cub or Scout. Early congrats to them for hopefully all earning a badge, it was a pleasure to assist giving knowledge, and congrats to knotobsessed for getting her first event placement. Nice to also catch up with kotukuSI, MacPacMum and Dad, StreetwalkerNZ, Troodles and Kiwicampnut. Even got a FTF and earn a souvenir too! Certainly can think of worst ways to spend a few hours
Good luck with your geocaching badges. Thanks for inviting us.Deleted and re-did log so it registered on the 19th June US time to allow me to get the solstice souvenir... since we couldn't log the cache that came out during the event!
Enjoyed meeting the young folk and helping them with the geocaching terms etc. It was great playing with MacPacMum's gadget caches too. The newly published cache was an added bonus, even in the drizzle! Thanks for organising this well run event, and for the supper, knotobsessed.
What a miserable night to be out but made it. Thank goodness for great wet weather gear. Great seeing that the Scouts and Guides were eager to do there badges. Nice seeing a few of the regular cachers at the event as well.
Walking distance from home so StreetWalkerNZ and I will be there. I will bring along a Garmin Oregon 700 and SW a GPSMAP66. I prefer to use a GPSr unit for caching and use the app mainly for the superior maps or for photos, and latest logs.
A very tentative - I teach until quite late that day, but I will try to come along!
I guess I better put a will attend for both MacPacParents as have spent part of the weekend sorting out stuff to bring along!
