TFTC! Found it on a family walk to fill a katsu curry craving. Ended up getting a cold ramen instead. No regrets. Bring a pen.
Found It!A quick find here after removing another leech from my shoe.TFTC
GPS was really struggling on this one (although when is it not). spent far too long looking in all the wrong places TFTC!
(3 of 3 today - including 1 Adventure Lab)I have lunch with former work colleagues today - and because people want to take the new Metro the selected restaurant is only a four minute walk from Crows Nest Metro station. Even closer to the Metro Station is a new *SideTracked* cache. And AT the station is an AL location.Bargain! So got both of those and as I was after two non-AL finds for my calendar today did some metro/train shuffling to make a find in a park where I've made finds before.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###So Metro from Crows Nest to Chatswood, and a connecting train to Artarmon. And only a 2 minute wait for the connection. Was worried this one might be hard to spot, but with no muggles close I sighted it from the path. Might still be a bit conspicuous.dived in for the grab, sign and replace. All good here. Also good was my return connection to Chatswood. The Metro and trains between Crows Nest, Artarmon and Chatswood certainly connected well for me today.SLTNLNTFTC
Came here for the Willoughby parkrun and continued on to sightseeing the area and geocaching now looking for coffee 2 x muggles spotted me in the bushes but walked on by TFTC
After getting public transport to Artarmon - bus, light rail and train I was soon at gz where after a brief search it was CIH. TFTC
Out for an early cycle before family wake up and to grab a cache on IGC day the 17th. Targeted a couple in Artarmon this was the second. Wow it was very dark, thankfully I had a good cycle light! Hit the GZ scanned the area spotting a likely location, yep got it! Yay! Second find for the day 5:15am now back home for a day of kids activities Thanks for the fun cache AussiePam #2886
For our regular Sunday public transport caching adventures, today we headed into the Sydney CBD to visit the David Jones Archives Exhibition on the eighth floor of their Elizabeth Street store, then walked through Hyde Park and down Liverpool Street to Darlinghurst for a new C62 MultiCache, before returning to Hyde Park to enjoy our pre-packed picnic lunch. On our return journey we stopped off at Artarmon for a previously DNFed AussiePam Traditional cache.Caught a 280 bus to Chatswood and a T9 train to Wynyard Railway Station, where we changed to a T8 train to St James Railway Station, providing us with close access to the David Jones store across the road. The return journey was via a T1 train from Wynyard to Chatswood, with a stop-off at Artarmon, and then a 280 bus back to home. This was the 2nd of 2 finds for the day.On our return journey home we stopped off at Artarmon to have another go at this AussiePam cache, which we had DNFed a month or so ago, but which was subsequently confirmed as being missing for our visit on that occasion. Hopped off the train and walked down through the pedestrian railway underpass tunnel, then along the bushy path through Artarmon Reserve to GZ for a nice quick find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Now it's back onto a Chatswood bound train to continue our journey homeward. TFTC AussiePam.Find #6978
Find #: 3,648Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Pleasant winter afternoonCache condition: GoodI was on the way home and realised that the train sequencing enabled me to find this cache without adding much to my total journey. I de-trained and walked to GZ where I made a quick find (TNLNSL), took a moment to appreciate the light-through-trees, then headed back to the station for the train to arrive just as I got there. TFTC!
Not a lot of time today looked around on the fence and surrounding trees no luck had a peek on the ground no luck.
I alighted from the train at Artarmon Station and took the short walk to this cache. I passed several scrub turkeys. Nice gully. Cache and log are good. Coordinates too. Then I walked back to the station and caught the next train to my next cache. TFTC AussiePam.
#6133On my way to the Beer O'clock event in Kirrawee, I decided to jump off the train and grab this hide. The light at GZ was indeed very dappled which made for a very pleasant location to visit.Cache was soon found where I would expect it to be.Thanks for the geofun AussiePam.
That was a quick find. Just followed the geotrail off the footpath and there it was. Cold in the shade here today. TFTC
Fun to discover a new GC in our home suburb. This is a regular stroll for our family. Glad to see others getting the chance to enjoy this peaceful oasis in the middle of the suburbs. TFTC
A quick find here. Quite obvious when you come from the right direction. TFTC
Coordinates changed from:S 33 48.582 E 151 11.242Coordinates changed to:S 33 48.578 E 151 11.234Distance from original: 47.3 feet or 14.4 meters.Too obviously mugglable in the original position. A small move to, hopefully, a less vulnerable spot.
In its first life, this geocache lasted about a week. I've now placed the container in a different location, but close by, where I hope it will be less vulnerable to casual muggledom.
Well this lasted a bit more than a week.... Artarmon is tough.I'll check it out ASAP, but if vk2df can't find it, I'd say it's gone AWOL.
Today we headed into the city to visit Hyde Park Barracks, being keen to see inside the buildings following its developments since the last time we were inside many years ago, and having recently found the TFTC_Sydney - Barracks cache outside of the barracks opening hours (FTF @ 6:36 am on 02/06/2024). We also stopped off at Artarmon on our way back home for a Traditional cache (which was sadly a DNF) and a previously solved Mystery/Puzzle cache. Caught a 280 bus to Chatswood and a T1 train to Town Hall Railway Station, where we changed to a T4 train to Martin Place (City Circle was closed for trackwork), then walked up Martin Place and along Macquarie Street to reach Hyde Park Barracks. The return journey was via a T1 train from Wynyard to Artarmon, where we alighted for the two nearby cache targets, then another T1 train from Artarmon to Chatswood, and a 280 bus back to home. After an enjoyable visit to Hyde Park Barracks we were now on our way back home, but with the rain having now stopped we decided to hop off the train at Artarmon Railway Station to have a look for this new AussiePam offering.Followed the bushy path to GZ and went straight to the most obvious feature, but failed to find anything cache-like in there, so widened the search zone outward. But try as we might we were unable to locate the cache, and had to eventually admit defeat and depart GZ with a DNF. Gee that's one tough D1.5/T1.5 cache, and just too good for us today. TFTH anyway AussiePam.
I could smell this freshly minted cache from 15m. Nice little trail along the rail corridor. TFTC
Can still smell the fresh mint from the can lol. Feels like a narrow path but there is so much muggle traffic. TFTC!
With some business in Artarmon this morning I then crossed the railway line and walked along this path. Initially the GPS had me on the wrong side of the path then with no luck I looked elsewhere and soon had CIH.What a lot of camo!TFTC # 6095
A lovely Sunday afternoon and with the few chores completed, stoppped here as the sun was filtering through the trees. Quick easy find. TFTC!
#14557 12:12A sunny Sunday morning walk, visiting a new AussiePam cache.TFTC AussiePam
*FTF* @ 9:45 with BabyJMan.Saw this pop up last night and thought there'd be a few more committed souls. Still unfound this morning so rolled the dice here. GZ a few places to look, we got led astray but cache was actually in a rather straightforward place. Nicely hidden.Obviously all in good condition here - even though it's been damp last few days. Thanks
