Logs
**22,236**Finally, we have found the time to start this series that we solved soon after publication. It was a long day (almost 8 hours) and with a fair number (10%) of DNF's or MIA's (They are to be confirmed by the owners at a later stage), but we guess that was to be expected four months down the track since placement. Lots of fun had, along with some frustration, so all in all a typical Geckoh caching day. Sorry for the cut and paste logs but we will try to brighten them up with a Dad joke or two!!Why did the bison become a therapist? To help others stop wallowing.
Got these along time ago when they were published we got some FTF. I was car sick most of the day so have put logging these on hold just got reminded by the team that I havent logged these yet. So here are my cut and paste logs
I was heading down to Taupo to take part in the Taupo Ultramarathon, running 24km from Kinloch to Waihopai Bay on the W2K mountain bike trails. I left a couple of days earlier for some geocaching while I was in the area.I had most of the day to spend caching before I had to be back at the Taupo Events Centre for registration and compulsory gear check. So my plan was to make a dent in the 101 Bison puzzles that I had solved, so I didn't have to hit all 101 when I travel to Rotorua for another half marathon in a couple of weeks. This was my last one before heading back to Taupo. Made good progress with only a couple of DNFs.
Chasing the Bison Part 5. Well it dawned a deary day in Rotorua. My daughter was at home from school holidays, so what better thing than to do but try and finish off the mighty bison. With only a couple of handfuls to go and now a fresh offline list, off we went to finish off this beast. Most of what we had left was pretty close together so only took an hour or so. Finished up with the eye of the bison multi. Lovely big container with a few trackables. We dropped one off and picked one up to travel onwards. The whole series is well worth the effort even for just the scenery and area south if home. Big thanks to the COs for placing them, it must have taken you ages. It certainly took me ages to work them all out. Only 3 DNFs left to sort out before fully completed but I will leave them for another day. Cheers
Hubby came up to ride in the redwoods, so at last minute I joined him but went caching. I managed a few before I got the phone call to come collect. Thanks for placement even if it was only for 1.5hours the weather was fantastic.
Out and about hunting Bison today. Luckily the rain has stoped but it's a bit chilly. Continuing the hunt not much traffic around TFTC.
Me and Taybee decided to take a 3 day trip up to Taruanga and Auckland to visit family and do some shopping. The first day was enjoyable with us finding some caches around Taihape before the rain came in. Day 2 was spent around auckland getting a cache or 2 in between the rain spells and then Day 3 was spent heading home collecting 50 of the bisons and other caches around the place. Signed as either TB/NZ or T/NZ. TFTC
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee (** *joint sign* **T/NZ** or **taybee / nz )** TFTC Cache was found at **18/09/2024 @ 12:55:00**
Matagouri and I had planned one last attack on the bison roaming the area, with the intention of picking up all of the remaining caches left, including the 'eye' which Matagouri had targeted as his 5000th cache find. The weather forecast wasn't great, but we figured if we got an early enough start, we could potentially finish before the rain set in, which we succeeded in doing with only minutes to spare. Thanks for all of the effort you've put in, in making this great series.I had wondered what the hint meant, but it was obvious when we approached GZ.
Out on a gray morning with rattll, a final push to complete the Bison series, plus whatever else we can get our hands on! On these back roads, parking can be tricky, even in a little car. Fortunately, many of these caches did have parking reasonably close by, or at least a shoulder on the road. We managed a 100% find rate today, including DNFs from other expeditions, to finish the series off.We parked the geomobile on the other side of the road, before heading over the road to GZ. The hint object required some consideration, but soon worked it out, and a quick find after that. All good. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
After Event EyespyBen decided maybe we go down country to find some BisonNext morning up early and away we go pick up KGDThe weather was spot onWe did a group sign KEAMost of them were quick findsSome tricky As we were in no hurry Stop for lunch & ice creamHad some laughs so all and all it was a great dayHint right thereThanks
On a day trip with ABCDF4 and eyespyben with intention to see how much of a herd of bison we could gather. In the end we spent about 6hrs and had ticked off over 70. All logs were signed KEA (Kaygeedee Eyespyben Abcdf4)No proble with this one though eyespyben was still working out the hint.Thank you for the placement
As dedicated driver, nav man and committed u turner spent a lovely day with KGD and ABCDF4down country lookin at the bison series, lotsa good hides, some dnfs, but a neat seriesthanks to the Co for the placements.
It is time to move my snail shell from the big smoke to Rotten-rua so that I can corral the bisons ready to recieve my brand. Finally worked out the hint once I got to the GZ.Cheers for the cache, Reschedule & Kiwi Does Stuff.

Found on a short trip away with woolwood9.Our first day on the ***Bison Trail*** - we started around 4-00pm and stopped for the night just before 10-00pm.No trouble here, got the find then onto the next one. SL *tm/ww NZ**Thanks for the fun cache series!*
TeamBOP planned a long overdue mission to Waikato, but plans suddenly changed overnight when this series was published. Thanks to one member who decided sleep can wait, we had the corrected coords of the complete series ready to go in the morning, so we hit the road early to try grab as many FTF's as we could.Tftc
With / logged as Team BoPI was one date short of completing the Trad a Day / 365 Challenge (GCA73Q3). The 28th of June was my last gap on the calendar, and as luck would have it, fell on Matariki Friday. I had been planning a different mission with the Team, but this Bison Trail dropped conveniently overnight. Plans changed rapidly as we went into puzzling mode - One of our group worked like a machine and churned out solve after solve through the night... Our successes today are largely due to his efforts!Spotted the good hint from the vehicle. A quick find - Thanks KDS. TFTP and TFTC.
Saw these come out and big change of plans for Team BOP Big night doing the solves and off the next day to collect the caches. Lots of fun and great to be out with fellow cachers today. Thanks from r setting this mission up much appreciated. TFTC
On a mish with the team. (Team BoP) Bern a long time since our last trip together. A great day for it and a fab way to celebrate Matariki. A quick change of plans last night after this series was published. What a team effort!!
