#1900A mini milestone for me as I hit 1900. Just goes to show how little caching I have done since the awards night last year which was my 1800 mini milestone! Whats funny is I didnt even plan or realise it until I got home. A great night had by all. Attended with my daughter Ge0_Bug whilst The Welder stayed at home and held the fort with remaining kids! Happy birthday GVI!
Even after a huge day and week, I couldn't miss the opportunity to catch up with many of the great folks I've got to know through geocaching. A well planned evening, thanks to the wonderful organisers. Very chuffed to be nominated for COTY awards too. Well done to all the deserving winners. Happy 10th Birthday GVI ??

Attended with PamJ. A very enjoyable event masterly presented by the GeoVic team. It felt a bit like the Logies but the presenters here were better. It was really well attended and I think everyone had a great time. Geocaching is in a healthy place in Victoria under the current custodianship. I really appreciate the award for best location and I greatly appreciate the generosity of the prize donors and the contribution of all cache hiders. The food was great too, a top venue. Well another year is slowly drawing to an end which means Christmas must be letting close and parties and events are on the calendar.So a Big Happy 10th Birthday to Geocaching Victoria and I have really enjoyed the last 8 years that I have been caching.So now for the awards night.If it wasnt for all of the COs that have gone to great lengths to put caches out for all of to find we wouldnt be here tonight.So congratulations to all of the nominees in their rightful categories you have done a terrific job in keeping us entertained and getting this far.There can only be so many winners so congratulations to all of those winners and well done again.Thanks Geocaching Victoria TFTEC.

Of course Mary & David were there. How wonderful to have everything catered. Meant that all the Mums had the night off. If we're still mobile next year, we'd vote for the same venue. Good to see all the people back from NZ and hear about their adventures. Had full giving out and trading a few pathtags too. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. We will visit them all eventually. Congratulations also to McLookers for winning the raffle, and to the Committee for an outstanding effort. Our thanks, and Happy Birthday, to GeocachingVictoria.
This could almost be considered a mega in its own right, a cast of thousands, the usual stories and laughs. Thanks for a wonderful 10 years and maybe more involvement from this team once retirement plans are completed.

10 years, a decade, a true milestone for any organisation, especially a non-profit run completely by volunteers. As someone who has only gotten to experience the dedication and hard work of [Geocaching Victoria](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5381f41f-c082-4a07-a4e5-9610ef6949fe&wid=93bfaace-c227-4d90-8bb4-68a8933599d1&ds=2) for the last few years, I feel truely blessed by how much they have change my life for the better. Over the past few years I have only been able to catch glimpses of all the background work that is done, witnessing only a tiny iota of the work that goes into running countless events, like tonight's. So I think it would be almost unfathomable to imagine the work that has occurred over the past ten years.Especially the early years, where no blueprints had been laid. So a huge thanks goes to the original founding members who were true trailblazers in the beginning all the way to those who continue to give up their time today to give us fabulous events, like tonight's.And what an event it was. It is always amazing to be able to catch up with my fellow cachers, but it was truely amazing to be able to spend the night celebrating them, not just the fabulous [Geocaching Victoria](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5381f41f-c082-4a07-a4e5-9610ef6949fe&wid=93bfaace-c227-4d90-8bb4-68a8933599d1&ds=2) committee, but also the creative and talented cache hiders we have in our community. Well that was a great night. Yes it was warm when everyone arrived but by the end of the night it was a pleasant evening. The company, the venue, the food and drink, the awards and the 10 year celebrations were all excellent.Congratulations to all the nominees and all the winners of the 2023 COTY awards. Congratulations Geocaching Victoria for celebrating 10 years. To those special geocachers who had the foresight to decide to host a Mega back 10 years ago - THANK YOU. What an awesome night! It was great catching up with the cachers we hadn't seen for ages! But it was also great catching up with those we do see often. Although we didn't win, we are still rapt that people thought our caches worthy enough to be nominated. A massive congratulations to those that did win and those that got nominated. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the 2023 Cache of the Year Awards and a Very Happy 10th Birthday to Geocaching Victoria!!! And so, especially it being the 10th birthday celebration, we thought what better time to aim for our **9,000** milestone?? So for the past few weeks we have been playing hard to get to 8,999 including finding quite a few AdLabs which we really enjoyed, and it was with some relief at 6.55pm on Friday night we made it lol Off to the awards/birthday we headed with me giving GMelb strict instructions he wasnt allowed to log the cache at the gate on the way in !!! What a fabulous evening with lovely company and it was great to hear the history of GVI interspersed amongst the awards. GVI past and present - you are simply the best!! We really enjoyed our dinner and maybe a celebratory dessert hee hee!! And of course I had created a 9000 sign and also made it in to a TB for Cachers to discover lol So woohoo for the 9000th cache find and on to many many more!!! Oh and thanks for the mention of our milestone! Thank you to GVI for an absolutely brilliant evening as usual!! Thank you also to absolutely all the cachers out there who put out so many caches for everyone's enjoyment! After a busy day at work I was very happy to spend the evening with my wonderful geocaching family. It was good to hear about Geocaching Victoria's early days and to recognise the nominees and award winners for 2023.Thanks Geocaching Victoria for organising this wonderful event.I attended the first Mega at Casey Fields, but only for one day as I didn't know many other geocachers then. I still regret not having a go at tree climbing there.
Well this will be an event for us to remember! We won two awards! Totally unexpected considering all the other quality caches which were nominated. There was certainly a high standard of caches from the ones we managed to see during our travels.Thanks to all of the committee for their hard work in organising both this event and the organisation of the competition. It certainly encourages higher quality caches.
Chook partnered up with LouiseAnn for the night, as Chunk had to keep the country going. The venue was great, as was the food. A very well attended event with a great vibe. Didn't get to chat to everyone we wanted to, but at least we got to catch up with some people we haven't seen for ages. A huge thank you to Leah and Julie for all the work involved in putting this event on, including liaising with the venue and preparing all the various presentations. Congratulations to all the award winners, and thank you to the past and present members of all the geocaching and mega committees in Victoria over the past 10 years. Well done to all.

It was wonderful and inspiring to acknowledge the cache hider nominees and even to comment on the effort of the log writing skills... my to find list is growing!
Fabulous night... a credit to the current Geocaching Victoria committee for their organisation of this one... and a credit to all the committee members over the years for their efforts in making the group work for us all... and adding an extra dimension to *finding caches*. Congratulations to all the award winners too... I haven't found too many of those caches but the ones I have found have all been fantastic.

I was there, and it has been truly amazing to witness the growth of Geocaching Victoria over the years.Its hard to believe that just 10 years ago, what started as a simple idea among a small group of friends has blossomed into the incredible community we see today. This event really highlighted to me how much Geocaching Victoria has flourished, and its clear that its in such capable hands now.From the smooth running of the awards process to the excitement surrounding the upcoming Block Party, everything was a testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work of the current committee. The level of support GVI provides to the geocaching community is something to be really proud of, and its all thanks to the amazing people who make it happen.You should all be incredibly proud of what youve accomplished. Well done, and thank you for everything you do for the community!

The event is almost here and we can't wait to see you all! If you are up for some lawn bowls, or even if you are a pro, we have two lanes booked from 5:00 to 6:00 PM for some fun, friendly competition and chance to mingle. After bowling, we will head indoors to kick off the celebrations. The chef has confirmed that the full menu will be available for the group, and to keep things running smoothly, we will be staggering orders.Looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday for a great time!
