Logs
New spot just a metre or so from the last. New cache, just a bit bigger than the last. New hint, just a bit easier than the last.
Seems that part of this cache is missing. I suspect birds! they have been messing with my caches for years. I'll be in on Sunday to check of things and will probably place a completely different cache container VERY close by.
Took a minute or two to spot the little thing. The cache needs some maintenance. Log is full and the lid is missing.
Working on numbers as I approach my next milestone (with a specific cache and rough date in mind), spending a week of the school holidays with my nephew T-rex 11, the Glebe area provided some newish caches to add a few smileys. Cute inspiration for name nearby almost avoided the need to refer to GPS arrow.
with a lot of new caches (and some older ones I was yet to find) in the inner western suburbs of Sydney, I caught an L1 Light Rail from Central and started cached up until 999 finds. This was cache 5/7. I found myself on the correct level to begin with and after reading the hint whilst approaching GZ, when I arrived at GZ, the cache was found almost instantly, SL TN LN TFTC.
(2 of 8 today - including 2 Adventure Labs)Now where can I go for some calendar finds today. Noticed a nice build-up of new placements around Annandale, so headed that way.Went for six and found them all - even a previous DNF. After that I continued on to grab two AL Locations.A good afternoon.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###While Abbott & Costello were always more to my taste, I have to say a bit of Marx Brothers never goes astray... Whatever did happen to Gummo?Perfect spot for this one and it took a few minutes before the perfectly blended in container showed itself.Completed signing duties, replaced and headed to my next target.SLTNLNTFTC
There are some new-ish geocaches in the inner west, and so Ms Atalanta and I decided to visit them and combine it with a walk from home. This is an example, close to the Tramsheds shopping centre.Once close to GZ, it became readily apparent at about head height.TFTC.
#21031 - 1:56:00 PM; After a couple of nights in the Blue Mountains with the geohoney for a couple of days of R&R, we have now reached Sydney for the last night of our trip. After breakfast in Leura, we set off towards Faulconbridge and attended a Postcard Day Event as we passed through. Dropped the geohoney off for some retail therapy and headed to Annandale for a few more caches, including this one. Took the wrong street in, which made for a very tight turn to get back out after making the find. Took a little while before I located the well hidden cache. All in good order and replaced as found once I signed/stamped the log. TFTC alnic39
Trying to find a container that colour on a rusty fence at dusk was interesting. TFTC
Great day for a light rail trip to a very quiet location.Quick find. Thanks to alnic39 for hiding this cache..
For our regular Sunday public transport caching adventures, today we embarked on a public transport loop through the inner west of Sydney, utilising various modes to complete the loop. Caught a 280 bus to Chatswood and a T9 train to Central Railway Station, where we hopped on an L1 tram to Rozelle Bay Tram Stop for a cache. Then back on the tram and off again at Hawthorne Tram Stop for another cache, after which we walked a kilometre or so along the "Cooks to Cove GreenWay" pathway beside the canal and collected yet another cache along the way, before again hopping back on the tram at Taverners Hill Tram Stop. Hopped off the tram at Arlington Tram Stop for a cache in Laxton Reserve, where we then took a break and enjoyed our pre-packed picnic lunch at the reserve's picnic tables & seats. Then back on the tram and off again at Dulwich Hill, where we changed to a T3 train to Sydenham, then onto the new Metro train extension to Martin Place. After enjoying some ice creams in the Sydney CBD it was back on the Metro train to Chatswood, then a 280 bus back to home. An enjoyable Father's Day caching adventure. This was the 1st of 4 finds for the day. This was our first cache stop for the day, hopping off the tram at Rozelle Bay Tram Stop and walking the short distance along Bayview Crescent to the cache, which was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Had to laugh at the headless ducks that didn't duck, very cute. TFTC alnic39.Find #7049
Grabbed on the home. Peaceful with lovely views. Thanks for sharing this location alnic39 #2895
I used 3 forms of public transport to get here this morning and a 4th on the way home to see how they all co-ordinated together. Not very well actually, it would have been much quicker to drive and I also would not have been exposed to the coughing and spluttering of other passengers. The views were terrific over here and I would not have seen that from the geomobile. Now I was worried about the use of body parts for the hint as I find these days, well most of the people geocaching anyway are at least 25m taller than me so head height can be out of my reach. No problem here though. The nicely camoed cache was actually at my head height! TFTC # 6203
In my life I have found that humans are generally not that much different in terms of height. Head height for one should be pretty much the same for another, though I could be wrong. 176cm
{[email protected]} I missed the publication of this cache last night and only noticed it over a coffee after breakfast. I had other caching plans for the day which I was going to do using public transport in a different direction. I decided to wait until school was in and make sure the "school teacher" hadn't done a detour on the way to work to grab the cache. When I was sure that he'd be at school I thought ok I can do this with the other planned caches if I rearrange the public transport. Bus and two light rail trips got me to gz in eighty minutes and only $2.50 out of pocket. After a couple of minutes searching on one side I crossed over for a quick find. TFTC
Found with Cryptic8 after catching the Light Rail. We didn't have to duck as it was at head height even for shorties like us. C8 Spotted it first. Signed as BM and C8. TFTC
Decided to come and get this fresh one on an evening walk. Thankfully not too hard for a nano, TFTC
