I had originally made plans with [The Rustys](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=741be9aa-1762-4a78-b9aa-a685a51e9b8a&wid=2c51c248-a766-4806-9450-5d398c5ba117&ds=2) and [Zeus, Hera & kids](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=fbf221a6-0bb7-498f-954c-78ad00da68b8) to attempt this one a few weeks after it got published, unfortunately on the night we planned, a massive storm came through and so we decided it was best to call for a rain check. My plan was then to wait for another opportunity in which I could meet up with them, however I ended up getting called in to work night shift tonight. So with no definitive plans made with [The Rustys](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=741be9aa-1762-4a78-b9aa-a685a51e9b8a&wid=2c51c248-a766-4806-9450-5d398c5ba117&ds=2) and [Zeus, Hera & kids](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=fbf221a6-0bb7-498f-954c-78ad00da68b8) and the perfect opportunity to attempt this cache after work, while it was still dark out, I decided I had to take the opportunity presented and attempt to find this cache. So after finishing up my night shift I hopped in the geomobile and my way to the posted coordinates, before continuing on to the [reflector trail](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=d91d34a3-6dc3-4682-b285-7c20d9e81fa1&RefID=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&RefDS=1) by foot. I always find the dichotomy of emotions I feel while doing night caches to be quite fascinating. On one hand the quiet silence of walking through nature at night I feel can be so therapeutic. I feel like there is something so calming and freeing when I able to just escape into my own thoughts and not be distracted by noises and sights.Of course, on the opposite end of the spectrum when I do actually hear a noise, my flight or flight response immediately kicks in. I seem to hear one crack of a branch and then my mind wonders and every strange shadow my head torch casts immediately looks like some type of monster or other ghoulie. This night cache was no different, as I made my way to the [reflector trail](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=d91d34a3-6dc3-4682-b285-7c20d9e81fa1&RefID=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&RefDS=1) I found a complete sense of inner peace and absolutely loved the walk. Of course, just as I was about at the [reflector trail](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=d91d34a3-6dc3-4682-b285-7c20d9e81fa1&RefID=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&RefDS=1) I started looking for reflectors. Of course I ended up seeing something I thought was a reflector quite quickly, and so I entered the bush to get a bit closer in order to count the reflectors when I ended up being face to face with a possum. Normally seeing a cute little possum would bring me a bit of joy, however, when it's completely unexpected in the middle of the night, it scared the living daylights out of me. I think I let out an audible scream and I ended up scaring the possum as much as it scared me.Luckily, for me the rest of the cache went quite smoothly. I was able to spot the reflectors fairly easily and although there were a couple strings of reflectors that were a little harder to count, I eventually was able to gather all the required information I needed. However, I was quite surprise to see where the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&ds=2) had hidden some of the reflectors. Those could not have been the easiest locations to get too. So after I finished the trail and gathered all the numbers I needed, I was able to quickly calculate the coordinates to GZ. Luckily, for me it wasn't too far. My luck continued as I ended up spotting a natural trail that basically lead me straight to GZ! As I was arriving at GZ I was able to quickly spot the cache. Of course I hadn't read the cache page fully and wasn't aware of the provided TOTT. So I stood there a bit trying to figure out how I was going to be able to scale this tree, when eventually I ended up circling behind it and found the conveniently provided TOTT.It was then a quick climb up before the cache was unlocked and the logbook signed! This was such a fun twist too the classic *follow the reflectors to GZ*, and I ended up really enjoying this version of a night cache. So a big thanks goes to [Mister Doctor](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&ds=2) for such a fun night time adventure. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**All of the reflectors appear to be in great shape. The cache container was in great shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. The provided TOTT was also in good shape and appeared sturdy. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
Having just rocked up in Melbourne for a few days, I'd nabbed my streak cache for today already and reported its completion back to buhfuhguh who was surprised to discover I was in the area.Seeing as though he hadn't been out for a cache yet, he offered to head out to this night cache with me which had piqued his interest among recent publications.A few suspicious characters out tonight, although I suppose we could be counted among them as we progressed by the light of the giant's headtorch (I'd come ill-equipped, having left mine in Canberra). The multi went smoothly and was largely straightforward in comparison to what we'd mentally prepared for (amusingly, some interstate folks were aghast at the notion of a 1km stroll maybe worth putting gumboots on being a mere 2/2 - we reckon it's bang on). Some minor backtracking was necessary when we realised we'd skipped over a few reflectors, but the checking mechanism was hugely useful in making the process of identifying when we needed to a breeze. We then approached the final where we were pleasantly surprised by the helpful TOTT present at gz.The giant was up in a flash and we were soon adding our names to the log of another fantastic cache by this CO.Thanks to Mister Doctor for an excellent night cache!
30 October 2024 8:28pmHere I am minding my own business tonight as I suddenly get a photo from brain, back in town for a bit...... rather late notice, I say. So with that all said and done, the message was sent out..... HEY, I need a cache for the day still, wanna do a night cache. And with that the mission was on. Arriving at the parking waypoint with the sun setting and the mosquitoes out in full force, we quily found the trail head and were off with torches. We managed to collect the information a lot quicker than I was expecting and soon enough the cache was in hand....... well that was easy. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.

Found (eventually) with icw. I had a few false alarms early on as my headlamp picked up a couple of surveyor's reflectors. When we arrived at the true start of the starry path I notice a pair of amber reflectors. When I walked in their direction they suddenly jumped to the ground and ran off -- it was a young Brushtail possum. Following the true path, collecting the needed numbers as we went, we arrived at GZ. icw couldn't tone down his headlight enough to enter the combination so we decided to return in daylight to sign the log.On the way back to the car we collected recordings for FrogID and Frog Census. A chorus of my favourite frogs was calling -- the Striped marsh frog. I love their genus name of Limnodynastes as it translates as 'Lord of the marsh'.
Ninja Tortoise and I decided it was time we ventured out after dusk to get this one. So off we went on Monday 21 Oct 2024 to get it. Armed with powerful headlamps we quickly found the cache albeit my lamps power made it impossible to read the combo numbers due to reflection. So a decision was made to return the next day in the light of day to open the cache which we did. On our night journey we each logged frog observations from a pond near the Eastlink bridge when returning to our car. Also we saw a couple who must have thought we were mad standing near a pond and holding our phones doing whatever! The return trip also involved more Frog ID. TFTC

*Found on the 13 Sep 2024 @ 11:09PM.**Cache find # 15779.* Twas the night of the 3am event so why go to bed when there are caches to be found.I met up with OSHFAM & KristyAdventures for some night adventures with this cache being one of the main targets for the night, we made our way to the parking waypoint and then headed off on foot to the start of the cache. We were a little puzzled by the obstacle that confronted us but soon followed the well used side track and we were on our way.The reflectors were spotted easily and we soon had the required numbers to lead us to GZ, once there even thought I didnt go the best way, the cache was spotted quickly and soon I was at the correct elevation to cast my eyes on the twinkling stars. The log was stamped then it was time to head off onto the next adventure.**Thanks to Mister Doctor for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
Out and about on night adventures with SteMicMitSar and KristyAdventures prior to the flash mob yearly event at 3am in Officer. Once we worked out the way in, setting off at the start we followed the Twinkling reflectors all the way to the end. Thank goodness I wasn't alone and reliant on my cache page interpretation and numbers skills as we all know I have "difficulties" which always leads to a bit of chaos and confusion particularly at night when I'm paralysed by fear of the dark and invisible boogey men hiding in the bushes waiting to pounce on me. So I left the other two to those duties. I just followed like a sheep. I was smart enough to walk behind so they could walk into any potential 8 legged creature variety constructions across the path. Luckily we didn't encounter any. I also made it clear at the start that if the final involved any type of box to open I was having none of it and wouldn't go near it.Having a torn hamstring it didn't particularly help with the little hop down required until after we realised there was a better spot which didn't require such a movement. I remembered the spot for the way back. One of us made the mistake of going around near the GZ before realising there was an easier way in. Nope I wasn't going anywhere near it. I was told of the internal wonder here and wasn't surprised as I know the CO makes amazing caches for us to find and enjoy. Thank you for the cache here Mister Doctor. A def fav from me
Joint [FTF] with n0w0rries I got a message tonight from n0w0rries asking if I wanted to go hunting for some hopefully empty log books. That sounded like some fun and its always good to get out and find a few smileys with him.Our first stop was a find but had already been visited by a slippery one which wasn't a surprise. Truly it was expected, so we moved on to twinkle. Our parking area was nice and clear making an easy short walk to start the delight. The start was a little surprising but we quickly navigated our was along with a pleasant walk counting the twinkles along our path.We were soon making the calculations required and followed the logical path to the nicely presented final.I made the slightly tricky climb for someone of my size to reveal the delightful find.Thank you Mister Doctor for a great multi
{FTF} # 41311/09/2024 @ 22:42Twinkle Twinkle you're a star. Eddy travelled from afar.A joint first to find more that 24 hours after publication. An adventurous wander in the dark, to the sounds of frogs croaking and the odd duck taking off as we startled them on our way past. All numbers were easily gathered and the cache was soon spotted. Sims_family did the honours of unlocking the final location and retrieving the pristine log book. The amount of effort that has gone into this night cache is definitely appreciated.Added to the list of Favorites.
