Logs
Can the GC please give this one maintenance. It is too good to archive. Needs waterproof container and log book.
This photo really helped from previous finders.it was lower than I had expected and didnt love doing it with the kids but we found it eventually. Also was very very wet.
We took the cliff top walk way from the camping park at Merry beach. Stunning views. TFTC
Found. Bit worried about the kids but amazing spot. Cache water logged and unable to sign.
Blowing a gail, so a bit of a mission to find. Needs a new log book, water damaged.
#6396. My parents are visiting from overseas and we decided to come and explore the area in and around Batemans Bay during a camping trip. We embarked on a day trip, heading North from South Durras. We parked at the recommended parking spot and enjoyed a somewhat windy walk across the beach. As soon as we hit the trail, the wind disappeared, only to come back with force when we reached the viewpoints. This was a wonderful little adventurous walk, thanks for placing caches here, otherwise we would probably never have visited here. The container was found whilst Lady Thrips held her breath - she is not a fan of heights. Unfortunately, the logbook was soaking wet, and I did not have any replacement logs with me. This is an amazing spot. TFTC!
We got to GZ and could not find this one, wasn’t to keen to to close the edge so decided to call it a DNF.
Super cool spot up here! Favourite point added for that. Approached from the bottom fairly easily, you just need to go south a bit and then up and north reapproaching the cache. Soon got to GZ and found the cache in the open. Logbook is a bit of a mess as the pen in the cache has rusted but it's still signable for now.
TFTC Bushrat!
TFTC Bushrat!
Needing a find in New Year’s Day, I intended to find State:Pacific but took a wrong track and ended up here first. A great location, but as previous finders indicated, the log is wet. TFTC and happy new year.
What a fun expedition to retrieve. Full of water needs attention, soggy log. Took TB as starting to rust. Top spot though. TFTC
Found pretty quickly with Katsumar. Thanks for bringing us to the wind swept place!
Find Number 2231 found at 15:44. After the event we joined forces with geoson NationalSteel and visited the Merry Beach area. He had three unfound caches there and I had one previous DNF - this cache. We logged our DNF in August 2013.
We attacked the cache from the waters edge after NationalSteel found the nearby earthcache. This was probably not the best idea, but we did make it. After logging duties we continued up to the top and followed the path back o the car. It is always good to avenge a DNF.
The cache was in good condition. We signed the log and replaced the container as found
Thanks Bushrat for the cache.

2nd cache of the day....over hill and dale to get here with a few scratches to boot and a dirty backside from sliding on rock
Worth just for the view...sun shining off the water and pounding waves....glorious!

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Beautiful location
Took a little bit of searching. Due mainly to the guardians of the area and the fact I didn’t want to disturb their webs.
The cache is damp. I emptied out the water and hung around for a while to try and let the log dry out. Would be good if the next finder could plan to eat their lunch here and let it dry out properly. A very beautiful spot to eat lunch!

What a cache!
This 2003 cache was high on my list to find due to it's age! I didn't take the previous finders advice however, and approached from the bottom of the cliff! Only because I was already at the bottom doing a nearby Earthcache and didn't want to walk around!
From the bottom however, you can see a clear route up the rocks to get to GZ. The biggest step I had to take was only about 1 - 1.5 metres, but theres really only one way up! Once your at the top, it looks like it would be impossible to get down, but that's because you can't see the way up without peering over!
Once I was on the top I started the search and made a quick find! Marvellous location and a top cache, an obvious favourite point from me, well done keeping this alive for so many years!
Thanks

We finally got to go away after months of Covid enforced weekends in Canberra, so we headed down the coast for a winter visit. Whilst the weather wasn't great, that was fine, because we just relaxed, read books, stayed inside and generally took it easy.
After 24 hours of relaxing we decided to head up to Snapper point and explore this walk that we hadn't done before. It was definitely worth it, we got to strech our legs, the views were amazing, the bush was cool and we saw some whales, which is always a very cool thing to happen.
This was a very cool find, I kept thinking we were going to head over the cliff, but, no, a brief walk, a minor scramble and the cache was in hand. I laughed when I saw the Tankengine sticker - that guy finds them all. The logbook was. a bit damp, but still signable.
Thanks for the Cache Bushrat

Had a favourite ninja turtle in our crosshairs today and a quick retrieval of him pushed forward to check Snapper Point. The geofamily has stayed behind at pretty beach lookout as I pushed on for this cache with the turtle in tow. Arrived at the location and reconnoitred the area. Moved around the corner bit, wrong level. Found a suitable place to ‘drop in’ and moved back around around to where the green dot is. Nope, still wrong level. Found another suitable place to ‘drop in’ and moved back around to the dot. As I rounded the bend the bright orange life ring startled me as I thought it may have been a fisherman and the search would’ve been for nought. Anyway searched and searched and searched, 5mins, how am I going past this. Wrong level? Ok back up we go, went a little further round than last time and booyah gotchya. CIH SLTNLN TFTC. Off I go for another bush jog up to the next cache in the scrub.
Wow, what a stunning place, thanks for showing us. Big waves today, how spectacular this was. Quickly found. TFTC
great spot walking around the headland with vosemitevegemite & tandooritiger. we did wonder how close we’d have to get to the water, but it was a nice find after a little bit of effort.
We got near this one and StrangeTrousers my trusty geobuddy nearly manged to get it but it was just out of reach. Stunning spot. I left him to wander down closer to the edge as I had not seen him for a bit and tried to follow thinking I would be a crap friend if I just took photos of stunning views. Then suddenly his head poked up and I was so relived I did not have to dive into the sea if he fell of the clift to rescue him espacially as he is a better swimmer anyway.
We will be back
We will be back
Time for another mid-week trip out to the coast to defrost and enjoy the seaside. I was joined, as usual, by my fellow, professional geocacher CBRChic. This time it was a bit of an exploratory trip as much as a geo-trip. Some of the areas visited did not have many if any caches. We started up at Bawley Pt and headed south via Shelley Pt, Kialoa, Pretty Beach and finally Pebbly Beach. We also spotted a pod of whales heading up the coast.
Didn't find this one. I wasn't confident about the final cimb down to get this one, so I chickened out.
Thanks anyway Bushrat

Wow, what a view, what a climb down! Think we approached it from wrong way, but was determined to get to it!
Heading north-east with PacGirl on a Easter roadtrip, we had no real target other than walking up Mt Kosciusko on the way to wherever we were going. I love these unplanned roadtrips where there isn't much of an agenda!
By this stage we had hiked around the top of Mt Kosciusko, made an impromptu visit to the Queanbeyan Mega, and ended up exploring this stunning part of the NSW coast.
Wandering around Merry Beach we decided to target this oldie. Took a whole 45 minutes to find it, but I didn't want to give up. Come in from either beach, but top or bottom..??
We started at the bottom and made our way up, making this much tougher than a T2. After looking through some older logs we matched up a pic and bingo!
Thanks Bushrat - a FP for one of the most memorable experiences of the trip.

My muggle companions weren't too happy about the down just to go back up again but as always, worth it for the views. A bit of scrambling to find the final location but you found the perfect spot for it. Muggle free today. Thanks Bushrat
Found with GrimRaider, Kittykatch, Joolay & Tankengine.
After a big day yesterday picking up a number of caches, today we thought we would pick up a few more before heading home.
What a spectacular spot! the rock formations around here are amazing and the view of the cliffs to the north - wow. We had a lot of fun here and I was in awe of the surroundings. I just wish I was a better photographer. Tftc Bushrat!!!

Found with Joolay, dty73 and Tankengine on a beaut weekend of Canberra cachers hitting the south coast. Lots of fun and great caches. We walked down from the top track and made our way down to the cache. Lots of lovely views and a highlight of the day. Photo is of Tankengine being 'saved' as he dropped off the edge of the cliff haha. Very cool cache gets a FP - thanks for bringing us here ")
Found with Kittykatch, Grimraider and DTY73 on a caching weekend at the coast. Fabulous day and great to explore as I have not been in this area for years. I came to Kiola about 20 years ago for a short stay with Uni.
What an awesome spot. When we had to start climbing down I thought what goes down must come up *sigh* but it was not too bad and actually it totally rocked. Fabulous views. TFTC

A little tricky to find, look up high and enjoy the views if the rock platforms.
Gorgeous spot. Take a moment to enjoy the view.
Cache condition is still fine.

Found on the 07/01/2018 at 3:16:00 PM.
After lunch on a family holiday, I wanted to go out anf find some caches. I was begged to take the kids with me so Jakeblast, Catapult07 and Wombat2005 joined the trip to Kiola.
I had to deal with whinging about the cicadas, the sand, the lomantra bushes and bees while on the short walks from the car!
At least I enjoyed it

WOW! What a spectacular place to bring us to! Just a quick jump down the rocks off the pathway and we soon had the cache in hand.

I had no previous intention of voluntarily attempting my Jasmer Grid. That was until a Jasmer Challenge cache was published close to home – so I now have little choice but to work on it. Looking through my statistics I realised I didn’t have too many unique months of the grid to fill in, but it was going to be a real pain in the neck to work on.
Since then I have come to realise that there is something slightly special about completing caches Pre-2005. “Old School” caches have a certain level of historical value within the geocaching community. It was my observation that these caches that have withstood the test of time are either difficult to interpret, hidden in places that wouldn’t get many vistors, or the coordinates are off significantly. Regardless, some of the caches have been reasonably rewarding to find. Thanks to all the respective Original Cache Owners - and Current Cache Guardians (if any) – for maintaining these special gems.

On my way down to Batemans Bay, I decided to make a detour to grab this one as it filled in a unique Jasmer month. I walked in from the Caravan Resort. Up and over the hill, following the trails until it was time to head down toward the sea. A nice easy find presented itself, so it was a quick and easy find. Thanks for the experience!

Back in Australia, for the three weeks SGAT, "SisterCornys Great Australian Roadtrip": In a small campervan from Sydney to Melbourne along the coastline.
Day 3 with the HippieCamper. We came to Merry Beach for just a little walk, but we ended up here the whole afternoon and even staying overnight, and this cache was one of the reasons: After a great walk along the cliffs we started searching and searching and searching, different levels, up and down. Shortly before giving up, we again looked and one place we have searched before and there it was. What a relief... Great location, worth a FP. TFTC

I think the terrain rating needs to be upped a couple of notches. I was about to give up when I spotted it. Waited until I got to higher ground to appreciate the views. Kutgw
Just beat a big rain storm to get to this one. Cache had water in it, so cleaned it out, signed log and on our way!! TFTC
Second try with this case. It was a pleasure each time as the views and coast line are wonderful. TFTC
Four of us searched for 20 minutes without success.
T2 seemed a tad low for where we were?
Great spot though, thanks for taking us here.

After finding Pretty we figured it wasn't too far to grab this one too. After all, it's half a terrain star less so should be an easy nab. How wrong we were! We found the departure point from the main track OK & down we went. Further & further down. Started to worry about cliff overhangs giving way. Surely it's not right down there! Not quite, but it was seriously well hidden for these retired legs. We felt we'd fully earned our two stars here thanks Bushrat. Great views though.
