*Another big geocaching trip to Australia with woolwood9.*
Our main focus was on the "On Your Bike" Wherigo series, which we really enjoyed.
Biggest disappointment was solving all the Paddle Steamer puzzles, then driving within 4km of them before finding the roads all completely turned to sticky slush and unusable!
*We visited many other good caches and other trails on our trip and had a lot of fun!*
**Really appreciate the effort put into this cache.**

This is our last day in the area, so a very low-key day today. Our thanks to all who have placed and maintained caches for our enjoyment.

Out with iluvtrekking on our last day in Loxton. Enjoying the rural roads caching we much prefer. Wow that definitely is enormous. Thanks for the hide.
What an amazing structure, towering over the horizon for miles.
Found along the dusty roads while caching with -Beaker- and Kellmik on our SA Easter rampage.
Thanks Hurtle for the placement.

The forecast temperature today was listed as reaching 39 degrees so we planned our cacheing day around spending maxium time in the A/C in the car and minium time out walking trails. Today it was fantastic that we did not find that we needed to renew any cache containers or log books/sheets. Well done everyone. All the caches we targeted today were found to be in good order.
There was, of course, the mandatory flies and dust and more dust and more flies, we can live with this as we have the technology to deal with the flies and dust.
We did encounter roads that we have never travelled on before and were very surprised when we came across a water way at Bugle Hut that had at least 300 swans on it. We traveled down a road that had the strangest collection of items attached to the trees, there was fans, lamps, boom box, frypan, stuffed toys, CD's with red reflectors, asstd computers bits - monitor keyboard etc. It felt like every road had an old house on it. We saw house's where the lawns were so green while all the land around them were as brown as can be.

well you can see that tank from km's away. quick find.
Out with the Mogni for a short trip out to the riverland, only 3 days. It was hot first 2 days where 40 degrees and the last day was 33 degrees. Since the rules just changed about covid 19 testing before and after entering vic to no testing, we changed our plans on the way up and decided to go via Murray Sunset National Park. The idea was to find as many caches as we could that haven't been found recently most hadn't been found in 3 months. On day 1 we replaced 10 out of the first 12 caches, all broken container and 1 log book replaced, and by the end of the day had a heaped medium bin liner bag full of broken containers, the hot mallee sun doesn't do the plastic containers any good. Day 2 saw us caching around Loch Luna and lake Bonney which is way easier driving around here in the dry then in the rain like my last visit here. Onlt 1/2 a medium bin liners back of replaced containers today, people must fix the closer to the highway caches more often. On day 3 it was back in to the mallee country and home via Pinnaroo. Getting those " out of the way caches ". Plenty of dirt roads where driven down and many, many back sandy tracks taken. It was good to explore all the country areas and stay off the highway.

As I am getting older and running out of time, I have decided I will take off on my own to cache in different areas of our vast country as my NGW (Non Geocaching Wife) has no interest in caching.
I have been up to Loxton for five days of full on caching with suscoe, au.fait and Phetlern and still have so many caches to log.
Heading east of Loxton with the crew we found this guy. Ross tells me that we travelled at least 250 km today.
I am afraid that for the next few days my logs are going to be a lot of cutting and pasting but that does not take away the effort that the owners have put in to provide these caches for us to find so please accept my thanks. With close to 200 caches placed I know how much work is involved with not only placing them but the ongoing maintenance.
Thanks, Hurtle for placing this cache so long ago.

Another great day of caching, with Bushfire, au.fait & Suscoe, in the Riverland - between Loxton and that infamous border! The expanse of the farmland is amazing the ruins dotted along the roadsides adding interesting snap shots of local history. What a golden oldie 17 years on the gameboard. Oops forgot the fly nets!
Our thanks to 'Hurtle' for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Suscoe headed out this morning in the terrific company of au.fait, Phetlern and Bushfire for a caching adventure to the east of Loxton.
It was a warm morning which turned into a farily hot afternoon.
We travelled around 250 kms and found a lovely range of caches in some interesting locations.
The roads were fairly quiet but we did pass quite a few shingle back lizards, who were making their way across the roads that we travelled along.
Thanks to Barry and Beryl for this hide, it certainly is a big tank.

A fairly warm to hot day with much driving in the area to the East of Loxton. The caches were fairly widely spaced but the excellent company of Phetlern, suscoe and Bushfire made for a very enjoyable day. This. Dry big tank was clearly visible from several kilometres away and dominated the landscape from its high vantage location TFTC Barry and Beryl
Not wrong that is a big tank! Cache was found in good condition. Thanks for highlighting this structure for us to discover!
Out and about today with goingplaces2 on a caching run. We took a lot of back roads and tracks and had a great day. This one was a nice easy find and all duties were soon completed. TFTC.
Today it was a matter of selecting fewer caches for the list, but going mainly for interest. With ilook4geo we travelled past vineyards, mallee, drove dirt roads and tracks, enjoying it all. We made a successful find here, quickly and easily. Both names were noted on the log, all was put back and we were off again to look for other interesting caches as well. Thank you, Barry and Beryl, for placing this cache.
Stopped by to check on this oldie today and all is good thanks to previous maintainers!

After setting up camp at Martin's Bend and enjoying some of the amazing oranges that the area has to offer, we drove out here to collect some old caches. Our random pocket query revealed that there are quite a few pioneer caches in and around Berri.
The tank is quite a landmark from afar, and the cache is in good shape. Unlike the tank, which leaks water through the concrete cracks.
Thank you for the placement and for maintaining this piece of geocaching history! We are looking forward to finding some more oldtimers.

Unfortunately I did not locate this cache today...I hope it was me & that it is not the container gone missing...CP could not recall the exact location he'd found it previously...

We decided to head out for an afternoon of caching with Larry Lambert. With the rain over the previous 24 hours, we decided to hit some dirt roads to get the 4WD's dirty! We headed towards Taldra and continued to Bugle Hut, Taplan, Woodleigh, Loxton and then back home to Renmark. After living in the Riverland my whole life, this was the first time I'd been out this way!
The tank was easy to spot from over 4km away and was certainly the favourite cache for Miss 7 today! Loads of 'treasure' inside - she struggled to pick just 1 thing for her and Mr 4! And then came the arduous task of selecting 2 things from our stash to put into the cache! Thanks for the cache!

I could see the Big Tank from many kilometres away as I headed west this morning
The closer I got, the bigger it got !! [:o]
With its mighty bulk towering over me, I scratched around for the cache.
No sign of it until I turned around and spied it lying on the ground nearby
Oooh !! An ammo tin [^]

Great tank . Great cache. Took the teddy which has gone to bed with our daughter and left some kids erasers. Should have left the toy tank we had in our bag but unfortunately didn't find it in our caching bag until a few caches later. TFTC.
Another huge tank, visited on an over extended break from my unpacking duties at home. TFTC
Second oldest cache we found today, only the 'Border cache being older .
Saw the tank from a long way off, coming down from the north . Surprised how long it took to get to GZ.
An excellent and well stocked cache . Took train. Left spider. SL.

The reason is that it was in rocks a great place for snakes to reside and is also overgrown with vegitation.

Found this one and was going to say that seems it was a bit wet but read the previous log and that explains it. Quickly found signed the log as best I could then on the road again. TFTC
Yep, a might big tank, unfortunately the cache was full of water, tipped it out, pretty much all the junk in the cache was still dry, all except the log book, grrr, didn't have any spares left, so repacked the cache so that the log book could get some air and stay high and dry if any water gets in again - TFTC
We had to wade through the long grass to get to this one. With all the rain it certainly has made the grass grow.

On our way home from the Oz Mega at Wagga Wagga we decided to do a few local caches with crane2 - this was the 14TH one of our fifteen for the morning before we took off home to the Yorke Peninsula. made some small swaps
Found while out this way with Jardry and Sushilord for the RR3 CITO event.
A quick find as we spotted it from the road prior to exiting the car.
After a bit of prompting young Mc did the 'find' and ended up swapping a Thomas tank engine toy for a koala key ring.

One of a few on a run out of town after dinner on our last night in the area. Didn't see a lot owing to the dark but it seems to be a pretty desolate sort of place. Could be wrong I suppose, but anyway we found the cache.

Can you believe I didn't see the tank until after I was driving away from the cache! Must be blind. (yes, I might have proved that recently with some Wombats)
Very Happy to say there was only one or two flies around at this time! I know what it can be like. Cache found quickly in an obvious spot, and yes, it is a big tank! Thanks Barry and Beryl.
