In GTown today to attend Neville_devil's birthday event. Stopped here before the event and made the quick calculation. Of to GZ with no luck. Keen to get to Neville's birthday, I thought I would return another day. Whilst at the event, caught up with many and ExplorerChuck also mentioned a dnf here. Ok game on, we are going back! ExplorerChuck spotted it quickly on the right angle. Pretty much were LeeLee was standing earlier Thanks Sims_family (Adopted from Bushfire and GeoJo) for hosting for us all to celebrate and catch up. I have returned many times to this one without success but sure that I was in the right spot. I was here today after a nearby event with LeeLee from Crack'n'LeeLee and spotted it right away. All it took was the right angle of approach. TFTC.
Grub62 eventually found this cache while I was looking elsewhere in heavy scrub. The cache seems to have moved about 10 meters away possibly due to muggle activity. We were grateful for the find and the entertainment. TFTC.
This morning I was on a mission to find a couple of early placed geocaches. I bought bunadoorian here after finding a cache in Ballarat first. I did the calculations and off we went for a nice walk around this park. On arrival at GZ we started searching, and searching, expanding the search a little way off. After asking a PAF and sending a message to the CO - we both re read Riddell's log and I had a derr moment. So before our PAF or the CO got back to us - I had extended the search and found the cache about 6mtrs from GZ as my phone's GPS showed. TFTC and placing it Bushfire and GeoJo and a big thank you to Sims_family for adopting and maintaining this cache for us all to find. Very relieved that this was found by us today.
Well, after CO checked, after our DNF and gave us some intel last week, we came back today to a very simple and easy find.9-10m from where we searched last week in dense scrub. It was also showing 7 m by one GPSr and 9-10 m out on the other GPSr today as well.Hide in a nice clean area and very easy to find.So if future finders find themselves in dense undergrowth use your Geo senses and look for an easier, more probable hide a bit further afield. Thanks, Eddie for the leg up.
I had a long look but no joy. The GPS was a bit jumpy, so I looked up to 10m around, still no joy.
How cool - my 20th 2003 cache find on a beautiful afternoon. Thankfully no snakes at GZ as it took a small degree of off track stepping to its hiding place. tftc
Aaargh. Defeated by Bushfire again. its been far too long fossicking around GZ. Ill have to return tomorrow.
Such a lovely day to go geocaching so I thought I would collect the few caches in Fyansford I have yet to find. This was a lovely cache to find with some beautiful scenery. Easy equation and nice spot to hide it. There is no better feeling than cracking open a fresh logbook and signing your username. Thank you for maintaining this one, it is in pristine condition.
I think this will be gone ATM or at least would be a T5. I'll check and replace when the water recedes
I needed a walk after a big lunch so decided to come here in the way home. A nice multi and I just realised it’s an oldie too! Quick find thankfully as that could take a while! Cheers for the cache
I was in the area and had a few hours to collect a couple of old Geelong caches. This was the first on my list. I gathered the information at WP1 and set out for GZ. It was a nice walk on this glorious autumn day. Thank you Sims_family for maintaining Common Ground for us to find today.

Down at Aireys Inlet for the weekend with the misses and a group of family friends, all muggles but I still managed to sneak out for some private geocaching time.
A quick walk around the outskirts of Geelong stretching our legs on the way through.
Quickish find today, once we looked in the right spot
**Thanks for placing this cache Bushfire**

Thanks for another adventure walk. I have lived in the Geelong area for 28 years & never been anywhere near here. Tftc
This took Memorychip and I a few minutes to have cache in hand. Beautiful afternoon for a cache!
What a fantastic dog park this is. Pity we hadn't bought the geodogs on its trip. We wanted to complete a challenge cache in Ballarat and needed a 2003 cache; This is the only one left in Geelong. We made our way to GZ and made the appropriate calculations. We then went for a short stroll, too short; it later became apparent as we went back to the car and relocated before heading towards GZ. We passed a recently married couple having photos taken; this will tell you how beautiful the surroundings are. We both had the same point coming up on our GPS for GZ, and wee started looking. We read the logs, and after around 15 minutes of searching, we found it. The cache is in excellent condition, dry as a bone. We carefully returned it and replaced the camo. Thank you, Bushfire, for keeping this cache alive.
GeoPup enjoyed this one. Thankfully no muggles around as we spent way too long looking!
We found the info needed to work out GZ along with ilook4geo. Did some quick maths and walked to the area indicated as GZ. There were lots of muggles around the area and almost as many dogs too. We looked carefully around GZ but eventually found we needed to extend the search area by about 10 metres to get the cache in hand. All was in good order and the container was put back into position after the log signing had been done. Thanks go to Bushfire for adopting this cache and keeping it going.
Out doing a selection of caches with goingplaces2 today, picking up a mixture of traditional, puzzle and multi caches. Each find had our names added to it before being replaced as it had been found. Thanks for being a welcome part of this caching day. Nice park area to have a wander through.
I began my day at home in Emerald. Drove to Ferntree Gully to pick up ilukaperi and then to Carlton to pick up Mielikkii before we all headed down to Geelong to do some of the caches nominated in this years cache of the year awards, as well as a couple of old multis that I had had my eye on
Time for a couple of older multi caches. Purely because I am trying to knock off as many of the oldest 500 caches in Victoria, and since we were in the area, it seemed like a good idea.
I think this is my first find from my old friend GeoJo (who I went to uni with). At the posted co-ordinates we made short work of the calculations (thanks to mielikkii's quick arithmatic) and we were soon headed off to a final location where I made the final find. TFTC, a nice spot.

After a DNF I decided t check the area out but all is well and nice and dry. I did notice that there was not a pen in this cache so I will place one on my next visit.
Alas once again kids disappointed .
Standing right on coordinates but no luck.
Next time!

Came back again and found promptly. U was definitely overthinking it last time. TFTC
After some quick calculations I made my way to GZ where a spent the following hour looking around. Looking at other logs I'm pretty sure I was overthinking it. Might bring some friends next time and have another go
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Found some of my friends on the way to the cache. What a nice area. I hadn't walked in here before. GPS was not very helpful but used my caching senses to find the cache, could have very easily over thought this. TFTC
I'm always up for a multi. The fact that it is on the list of Victoria's first 500 was a sweetner.
Information was easily gathered at the posted coords. After determining the easiest route to GZ via satellite view I had a very pleasant walk and then it went wrong.
I had the right idea initially but just didn't check the simpler spots. I then seriously over complicated things and spent a good 30 mins searching the wrong area.
It was only after i paused, read some legs and had a think about it that I found the cache in a way simpler spot than I had been searching.
The cache found, I left feeling satisfied with putting this one to bed.

A quick stop at the marked co-ordinates for a nature break for GeoKid1 turned into a quick mission to complete this cache - its always tough to go past the older caches and the fact it was a reasonably straightforward offset meant we could squeeze it into our day. Some quick simple maths and we had a GZ. What initially seemed suspicious quickly made sense and we were en route to a nice little spot I never knew existed, even having lived in an adjacent postcode my entire life. After a brief search at GZ we found the cache in good order. Log signed, returned as found and we can continue on with our day. Thanks bushfire for keeping this one going, always nice to fill an older spot on the hidden month calendar.
Just who is responsible for the parking area next to the Fyansford hotel, and the track then down to the parking lot? It really is a roller coaster. If you did the old "hold my beer and watch this" number the person holding would get soaked. Enough! Can only hope that the road blokes currently camping there run a quickie over the block "pro bono!" Any how, to the story at hand. Got the clues and worked out the next stage. Checked both approaches (this is a Bushfire cache!) before deciding on GZ. Did have some fun as some parts don't bend as well as they used to before the op last year, but eventually the cache was in hand. All is looking good with that. Left a geonickel, TN, SL, TFTC!
A nice opportunity for a wander around the river bank on a wonderful spring day. TFTC TNLN
Geo kid and I thought we would get out and do a cache or two. We decided a multi would be great and thought we would give this one a crack. The views were amazing and the walk was exactly what we needed. Thank you for this adventure!
Decided to make the most of a sunny winters day by finding a few geocaches on the Barwon and Moorabol river. This was are first cache of the day which took us to a very beautiful area just right for a Geocache. The log and Geocache were in good shape and we continued to our next stop of the day

an easily found cache after a pleasant walk after work. had to rush it a bit to beat sunset though. TFTC
First multi cache found. So excited. Singed swapped and time to find the next one. Cheers
I did the maths and the hard work for this cache a while ago only to have my phone die on me about 20 metres before GZ. I was showing a friend some of my favourite Geelong caches today and was nearby so I decided that I may as well finish this multi (and drag my friend along). I soon found the cache (thank you suspicious looking bit of wood) whilst my friend was following a suspicious path. TFTC.
Cool, Unloved cache for 7 Months now at a end

What a lovely way to befin a day of caxhing. A couple of simple sums followed by a delightful walk Along the way i came across a beautifully carved scupltural totem pole which unfortunately had absolutely no information about it. A fav point here for introducing me to this lovely area tftc Bushfire

Team Autumn out giving the geodog a walk. Nice easy multi to have the eldest geokid work out and lead us to. Youngest geokid made the find. Good team effort. Cache in good condition. Thanks for the cache Bushfire.
Had to use geosenses rather than rely on GPS here. Lots of little hidey holes it could have been in including what smells like a fox den! we got our 1 for our 100 day streak, just 25 more days or so to go!

Found the answers to this one a while ago while having dinner at the Fyansford pub. Now, how to get to GZ?! Pfft!! A short stroll to GZ? NOT! And definately not in the dark. Today I was trying to collect a few more Barwon River caches. After a could not sign, followed by a muggled out DNF, I was pleased to be able to cross the river, find and sign this one. Not that it was a piece of cake. I arrived at GZ to what looked like an unlikely place for a Bushfire cache to hide. I poked around a bit, then decided to look for a more likely location, with telltale signs of a cache hide. Sure enough, 10m away I found the exact ammo I was looking for. A colony of little red bugs has taken up residence underneath but not in the cache. The cache contents are clean and dry. Bushfire sure does like multis. Tftc. #815
Got the right coords and figured out which side of the river to be on...but couldn't find the cache. So many places!! Maybe next time
GPS location is out but a few meters, used intuition over accuracy and found it!
I arrived at the published coords to find a women's fitness class in full boxing mode pounding the leather gloves. Gee, that looked like hard work in the warming morning! The class was being driven along by a shrill taskwoman! With the cache coordinates worked out I toured all around the Common Ground after making a muckup of my initial path direction. However, the cache was a quick find once I got to GZ. TFTC.
This was a nice multi, located GZ and the hunt was on, I overthought the hide and was doing it T3, after a while with both feet firm on the ground the cache was located in the obvious spot. As always you have to love a bushfire cache!!!

I left home early today to head for an event for late this afternoon in Timboon, I had a long way to go but that means there are a lot of caches to be found along the way, this was one of them that I found.
With a slight detour off my intended route to find a couple of solved puzzles, I stopped of at this one as I was driving passed.
I quickly gathered the information needed and calculated the position of GZ which was only a short distance away in a straight line that is, but to walk there without getting wet was quite a bit further.
Once I made my way around to GZ, the search was short and the log was signed.
Thanks to Bushfire for keeping this cache up and running.

Today was my third trip to Torquay for work...and I decided it was time I stopped off to fine this cache. I had picked it out especially for the "month/year" combination of when it was hidden...there is only another 7 active caches from April 2003 left in Victoria.
It easy enough to work out the real GZ...working out how to get there involved a little more trial and error...but no water-wings!
Thanks Bushfire for keeping this old cache going...and it is worth a Favourite Point for just that reason!

No luck today. I was in the right location as it matched the photos. TFTH anyway.
Thanks for this one, gave us a nice walk. Once one crosses the Moorabool River bridge, leaving the Common, Geodogs need to be leashed. A wildlife reserve! And please note: there are Wathaurong aboriginal artifacts around here.
Found it. Didn't have a pen to fill in log book. Nice little find. Will definitely need to be weary of snakes during summer.
Nice spot in here - we have always followed the path in the other direction. Recently mown grass helped. TFTC!

After a nice paddle I crossed the freeway here to find some more caches.
This was the first.
I stopped and did some quick calculations before moving on to GZ.
Everyone in Geelong is on a fitness campaign it seems at the moment.
Me I was just finding the cache.

On the way to an event, we made this find in the company of the CO. Great to see this type of cache being adopted and continued. Thanks Bushfire.
We were in Geelong today with McLookers and Tomstache to attend the all of the Christmas Smorgasbord events and to pick up a selections of caches in between. Thanks for the hide Bushfire.
Found this one today. I was going to the nearby event and was told that the final of this one was near. I did this one in reverse (signed log first and then went back to wp1 to get the information).
Thanks for keeping this one alive Bushfire.

Oh well, it's a nice afternoon for it I s'pose and I've got 30mins up my sleeve.
A nice walk it was too. I should have had the dog with me.
A beautiful old gum at Gz , but the the cache had me searching for a while because of all the grass that has grown. So after a few circles and scratching the cache was found.
Thx for the exercise Bushfire.

We done this one while passing through Fyansford, we were lucky the rain was holding off long enough so we could do this one, we arrived at start, after some quick maths and a play with the GPSr we were soon on our way to GZ, it was a very nice walk along here and with half decent weather it was a bonus, it was a nice easy find and a very enjoyable walk with beautiful surroundings, thanks for bringing us down here
Gee things got extreme today. Had a slip down the river bank taking a goat track nearly needed my floaties. All good found it after our slight detour TFTC
After getting a DNF here last year with others I was very relieved to find the hide today all on my lonesome =]
Will be good to have this smiley on the map.
Didn't take me long at GZ this morning at all, which is good cause I'm off to meet some fellow cachers now to do the Fyansford Treasure!
I can hear frogs in the distance as I'm logging. And birds. Nice.
Took- roller mini car thingy.
Left- pink my little pony toy.
Cheers & T.F.T.C in a great area.

Out for another brilliant caching day with BorisB&Natasha. Today we decided to venture quite some distance from home, and I must say I have not been to this area before. It was well worth the trip. This was the last cache we picked up for the day. After the coordinates were worked out we enjoyed our short stroll to GZ and the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks for the cache and for bringing me here.

While in the area with Nut bear today we couldn't resist looking for this one before we started our long journey home. It was great to do one of the old caches around. With the coords quickly worked out we made our way to GZ. The tracks sure are popular with lots of walkers and riders out for some after work exercise. Luckily GZ is a very quiet spot with only the birds watching our search.
The hide was quickly spotted and it was our third decent sized one for the day. First time out where we've not found a micro, made a very nice change.
Thanks Bushfire for the cache and for showing us this lovely area.

Got to GZ but could not find. Hard a good trample but too wary and worried about snaked. GZ saved for another day
Came out for a nice day in the beautiful weather geocaching but this was our first stop and we wasted a lot of time here. Twisted ankles, got eaten alive, all sorts of things. But no cache. 100% sure we were in the right spot but it was all very overgrown. Pretty area though. Cheers anyway.
Did the maths on this one awhile ago with geordiefamily but it was night time so wasn't going to go looking for it in the dark. Went out today to retrieve this one. Soon had cache in hand and signed log. Was a lovely spot on a lovely day. TFTC
Lovely day for caching. Worked this one out a couple of moths ago with libzhat but the darkness and location put us off doing it. Nice area good hide. TFTC
Beautiful park full of blue wrens and other bird life. Thanks for the walk today, nice despite the weather!
In my early days of geocaching (just 2 months ago...), I had worked out the GZ co-ords but could not find the cache. Went back today, with a much sharper geo-intuition, didn't trust my GPSr and looked 10m wider, and Bingo! Fortunately found in under 2 minutes this time.
Tftc bushfire! Wasn't sure of our coords at first due to the abundance of sign bt we stuck to our guns and kept searching! Not knowing the park well we got a little stuck navigating to the go bt zooming on the map showed us the bridge.
Enjoyed doing this multi and the walk on this grey, mild, windless morning to find GZ. Great to find a regular cache as we have found so many micros of late!! Nice park for a walk - some muggles out with their dogs enjoying the area, too.
