Found with Gazania Rigens and Wombatwandering, as per their logs. This did require quite a bit of ducking and diving and to-ing and fro-ing and picking up litter as we went weaving about amongst the greenery as the gps did its woodland dance thaaaang, but we spotted the cache in the end under its generous stickoflage and were very pleased to find it in excellent condition.FP awarded for this fine old cache and a bonus Koala Mum pic to give a smile too!
We drove to the Cape Otway Lighthouse as step one of our Great Ocean Road today. Zouavesauvage fantastically spotted a koala on our way in so we stopped to say hello. Turned out it was a mother and her joey. Gorgeous. Continued on for a look at the lighthouse and area. It was only $10 admission today due to an earthquake and a mercury spill. Great! Then we headed to the cache which was a bit of a battle but we got there in the end. Picked up a couple of bits of rubbish but its in any condition as described in a previous log. All was good. Found with Gazania Rigens too. Thanks for this oldie - we did a mini CITO of the cache and ditched the junk people had left in it.
Found by Aussie Train Driver 15/10/2024, find number 1817.The family and I were on a day trip to visit Cape Otway and made the short walk up to find this cache. After heading off the track I spent some time looking (with plenty of hiding spots, and my GPS jumping around) but I eventually spied the cache. It was a but exposed so I left it hidden a little better. TFTC!
Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip with a campervan between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground at the Great Ocean Road. We had a great day on the road, enjoying ocean views around almost every corner. Whenever the ocean wasn't visible we turned our eyes upward to spot koalas which was spotted on our way to the lighthouse. After a short but nice hike I saw where other cachers had left to trail to find the cache. I followed in their footsteps which led me right to the cache. Couldn't be missed. The hint here is squatting down and walking .TFTC!
Sorry, your hint wasnt very good and we couldnt find it and its a bit overgrown here
The cache is hidden off track as per hint but unfortunately the off-track accesway has/is been used as a toilet by tourists/walkers and we ventured in a little way but were put off by paper and poo. Hopefully this is not usual and the next searchers won't find such a mess once some natural composting takes place.
A good way to walk off the scones. Like a previous finder I found it when I had decided to turn and head back. Thanks for the cache
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Apollo yesterday. Today we have all day to explore the area.We visited the 'Otway Lighthouse' and went looking for this cache. This cache was found near the lookout on the lighthouse.**BernieH**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove to Apollo Bay were we will be staying for two nights. Today we walk part of The Great Ocean Walk which we enjoyed very much. Lots of wildlife, diverse landscape and amazing views. On our walk we passed this cache and naturally we had a look. The cache was quickly found without any problem. Thank you very much for this cache.
Thanks for the Cache.
Found It........While down in the area celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary we decided to grab this one. Once we had finished wandering around the Lighthouse we set off in search of it and after a short relaxing stroll listening to the birds it was MrH_3 who made the dive off the track where a quick search soon had him holding the cache and with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks BernieH for the cache
On logue en team Mado. Merci pour la cache. Trouve assez rapidement.
A nice walk on a balmy 40 degree long weekend. Dropped a tb to continue its journey. Many thanks BernieH for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. And thanks for sharing the highlights of your region.
Searching for a while. When I decided to go back I found it. Greetings from Norway, TFTC:)
Nice. Which path? Mine was the correct one.Met some people as the recognized my geowoodstock shirt and I recognized their Chilliwack shirt. Our plan hatched months ago when we learned that the Ballarat Geotour would be ending in early March. From Sydney it was a no brainer to do both. A host of characters conspired to make plans. Including drobbonz kimmy533 Kiwisteve2 and tessa-bella. The trip morphed multiple times but Adelaide was the goal for Leap Day.I spent the last one in Las Vegas.Sydney, Ballarat, Great Ocean Road, Adelaide, Flinders Ranges, Mildura and back to Sydney. TFTC
Searched very carefully around for a long time, headed out of foliage and spotted tftc
After visiting the grounds kiwitrecker1 and turned our minds to locating this cache. Wouldnt have been too aware or the tracks here without going for the cache so that was a real bonus. I figured out a likely place to head toward GZ but when I got there I wasnt having any luck. Being a kiwi my mind was playing a few games relating to concerns with snakes, my sense of concern was elevated after seeing the signs on the main grounds didnt stop the search though. I kept going for a while and thought Id look at some logs. Oh great a recent cacher reported being chased out by a large brown snake! Kiwitrecker1 said lets call it, reluctantly I proceeded slowly back up the hill still really wanting the find. Then, I spotted something that looked like human intervention and yep it was the cache. Super happy to have made the find! TFTC!
Touring the GOR. We made the detour to the cape. Paying to walk to a lighthouse is not our thing so we walked in the other direction to this cache. The lookout was underwhelming. A bit of a bush bash and the cache was found. TFTC
Went for a walk to see the light house form a distanceBit off track but easy findTFTC!
Huge brown snake chased us out of the location. Scary. And had no idea where this cache was.
Had fun walking to this one. We were worried that we went too far. We finally came up with the find. I got it out with Wisewarrior and Littlehawk. TFTC
I have had my eyes on this cache for quite a while, being the furthest south cache in Victoria other than wilsons prom. Thank you for the cache, though a recent log helped me find it.Pika 18/11/23

On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way on the great ocean route and we did a few nice caches. All COs thanks for bringing us on this nice places and making this caches.
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case Cache Guardians, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
Probably no need for this one to be quite as far off the track as it was. Unpleasant and overgrown scramble to get down to GZ which had any number of possible locations. Was about to give up as the mozzies had found me and when I turned to work out my way back to the path there the cache was, just up the hill from the GPS's stubborn location 5 metres further in than I needed to go. Quickly signed log & left.
Gave it a look but back off after a bit as it felt wrong doing this much bushing wacking and as a bigger person disrupting the the area. Maybe I was just in the wrong location

Tftcnice day for a walk lighthouse was a great visit and scones were delicious
Found this cache on an afternoon walk. A little bit of crawling through the bushes, kind of a strange place, but we found it. I wonder how accessible this cache is in summer? However, nice cache, we walked a little further, well worth it! Tftc!
Hello Cache Guardians thank you for the cache

From Sunday 16 April 2023 to Sunday 23 April 2023, I and J plus the little one spent 8 days in the school holiday trip to the State of Victoria. We visited the Melbourne, Phillip Island, Great Ocean Road, etc. We planned to find some caches on the way, including traditional cache, multi-cache, mystery cache, virtual cache, Wherigo cache, EarthCache, Adventure Lab cache, and we found over 70 caches for this trip. We enjoyed the holiday!
This cache was the seventh find on Day 7, also the 59th find for the whole trip.
Cape Otway Lighthouse is just our second priority, but since we are ahead of the schedule, we had a go.
To visit the Cape Otway Lighthouse requires ticket, but the Cape Otway Lookout is free. We walked there, took a photo (attached). Also attached a photo for the trail while approaching GZ.
Cache has been found not far from the lookout. The way out is much easier than the way in.
Good sized cache container. Took nothing, left nothing. Signed the log book. TBs visited.
Thanks for the cache, Cache Guardians. Greetings from Adelaide, SA.
PS: I just realised yesterday was this cache's 20th birthday! Long live the cache!

Today we were driving along the Great Ocean Road and made a detour to the Cape Otwin Lighthouse. After visiting the Lighthouse we went for a short walk to this cache. As I had seen a sign "Beware of snakes" near the Lighthouse I was quiet unsure, if i should try to get this cache. But in the end i decided to go for it and was rewarded with a new log in this nice cache.
Thanks for the cache and regards from Switzerland.

I found this as a part of my trek along the Great Ocean Walk. After setting up at camp, I walked to the lookout. I entered the scrub and went down, following the directions from the app and looking for what matched the hint. After a few minutes of searching, I gave up and returned to the path when I saw the giveaway pile of sticks. I had no pen, so I took some photos, but then I decided to return later and complete the signing duties.
Day 3 of our hike along the Great Ocean Road. This was on our way to the GOW campground. We passed it initially and xrocketx found it without a pen, however later that evening after we were rested we retrieved a pen from the pack and made the short (although it feels much longer) trek back to make the find again and this time get the ink to the paper. With business completed it was replaced and back to base camp for the night.
lindahe took one for the team as I'm scared of all things bugs and creepy crawlies. After a bit she gladly announced she'd made the find Logged as minimixb to save time and space. Tftc and greetings from Norway
We continued today our tour in Victoria, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to geofreak & friends for the generation of this nice cache Cache Otway (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

This will be our southernmost cache for the foreseeable future.
Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explore the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event. Than we visited Philip Island with the pinguins and the Great Ocean Road. We fed and petted kangaroos
**Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for showing the location and for hiding the cache. You should come to Berlin in Germany to find a lot of interesting geocaches, visit lost places in the surrounding Brandenburg and meet nice people at many events.
I wish you a lot of fun and great adventures while searching for the next geocache!**
Thanks for the cache!

Nice location - would have been interesting to see a photo of the lighthouse view from 2003.
GPS took us through the bush into a slightly clearer area, when the searching began.
Bingo, container spotted by DN.
The ‘shrub’ is now a large tree.
Signed the replacement log from ‘21, stumbled our way back.

Wet approach on this rainy day but a beautiful walk through the seaside scrub with lots of birdsong. Visiting from Canada. TFTC!
Nice and easy fine as we came up here to go to the lookout.
It’s a bit of a silly look at, as it’s only a 1 m cut into the trees to see the lighthouse… But I guess we can still see the lighthouse.
Thanks for placing this here all those years ago!

Found with trillian and our trackables. Cache was in good condition, and we enjoyed the little walk
We got to the lightstation a little early so took the kids on a walk to find the cache. They enjoyed the walk along the trail.
Found this on the ´Ater hours walk´. We also spotted a little kangoeroe further on this path. Tftc
Partner loved the Trek through the bush, me not so much. After a little bit of messing around we came up with the smiley face. Tftc
As it was all about foggy we could not see the lighthouse, but found this cache. Greetings from Germany. TFTC
After visiting the lighthouse we finally found the right path to get near the gz. I headed in but my GPS took me a little to far. After traipsing around for ages I headed out the wrong way from my entry point and came across the large cache. Tftc
Awesome view near by. Sad the lighthouse is closed. Another trip needed once open. TFTC
Not ideal weather for sight seeing on this cold rainy & blustery queens birthday weekend of caching. But had a great time exploring the shipwreck coast

Happy Wear Two Different Coloured Shoes Day!!!
I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! Today after my geocaching interview with ABC South West, I’m traveling from Sugarloaf to Lavers Hill.
I had raced down here to see the sunset at the lighthouse, only to discover that it is all locked up at 4:30pm and there is no access to the area which is quite disappointing. I set off for this cache and spent way too long looking for it. The GPS was bouncing, the hint could have described just about every location in a 100m radius and the logs seemed to have conflicting information. “found further SE” which is downhill vs other logs suggesting further uphill. I was about to give up on this one and was a little confused why a cache would be hidden here when I realised this cache is a 2003 one. The landscape will have changed significantly since this was hidden and indeed it has. The “bush” is now probably the biggest tree in the area. I also found the cache further NE from GZ, not SE, but alas I still found it. Phew!
Thanks Cache Guardians for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

A bush bash indeed!
No sign of it in hiding places at GZ but I stumbled across it on the way out after giving up, several m SE.

Found after a short bush detour, but emerging onto the main track was more difficult, as two groups of walkers had merged and were having a joyful conversation in French, right where I was a few metres away, hidden in the scrub. What to do but rush the twigs out of my hairs and clothing, and step boldly out, say g'day, and continue on my way, to their slightly perplexed looks
Logging now but found on 16.04.2022 with Tim on day three of the Great Ocean Walk. Cache was found further uphill than navigation suggested. TFTC.
Finding the lightstation closed I found the cache instead. What a beautiful area.

Out for a hike from cape Otway lighthouse to Aire River inlet and thought I would give this one a go. Well oh my goodness did this have me scratching my head. It was a struggle to get into the location and after looking for a while I decided to turn back. But then I stubbled across it YAY. I did get myself a little lost trying to find my way out but made it out with a couple of bird calls from my crew.

We were back at the car park by the time I checked the app to see if there were any caches around.
I quickly doubled back to try and find the cache by myself but I got a bit nervous when I was in the scrub alone.
I got within 10 meters of it but turned back.
Will hopefully come back with friends or family another time and try to find it.
