Cache was deactivated yesterday and archived. Best wishes to all who enjoyed it. This was the first cache I hid in the ACT.
Went out today after dinner and the kids loved the walk in the long grass and all the kangaroos.
Found by Mary & David at 1310. No kangaroos about today - probably being sensible and resting in the shade. David knows this building well, having attended many meetings there about 10 years ago. The 'low' roo fence can be a problem for those with shorter legs. Took little purse, left Tasmanian Devil and small clutch pencil. More thanks to Panic.
Due to a change in personal circumstances I will not be able to maintain the cache for much longer. It will be archived some time in the next two weeks. If you have items left here that you would like to retrive please visit the cache and remove them.
Kindest regards, Panic!

Found it - nice & easy.
INDEED - Use a big stick as it is indeed a nice comfy spot for snakes to hide. Cooeee off I rode.

After being cachenabbed this, my first deployed cache was redeployed on the afternoon of the 9th November. Many thanks again to the Hill4 team.
Visited this cache today. It seems to have been cachenapped.
. This was my first cache too and it's gone.

Well I am sure we got the right spot... but not a thing to be found . Found some old roofing iron but no Joy.
Found by VK2TDG, Mabs & Spoon. Were a little apprehensive about the proximity of fort knox, having had numerous run-ins with a group of black ford explorer's while dumpster diving the telstra facility nearby previously, however didn't have any trouble this time
Fairly easy to find, though the rain meant we were fairly wet by the time we got back to the cars (hiked over from Andrei's Hot Spot. Second cache for day, off to Cultural Cache

Wandered up from the 'academy' below the 'fort'. A large mob of roos on the slope appeared to be spooked by something just before we arrived - came across a couple walking a pair of rottweilers. Gave them the 'cachers, ay?' nudge-nudge wink-wink - they quickly started walking in another direction .
Found without too much trouble (well, those of us not wearing rollerblades, anyway!). Took a plastic rat, left a 'Piglet' pin.

An easier find than most of my other ones, nice change...skippy & mates were around, but staying in the trees out of the wind I guess.
TNLN, had nothing with me to swap.
Thanks Panic

Found easily between school groups out on an excursion at 12.05PM Nothing exchanged. Greg and Bev
Nice comfortable walk. Took a few minutes of scratching around to find though no roos.
Heard a ruffling sound from above and spotted someone deploying a parachute and figured it was some person on the way to break into Fort Knox.
After unsucessfully trying to find Andres Red Hot Spot for the second time, it was good to find this one first go.
Didn't see a single kangaroo on my visit.

Another easy (kid friendly) cache. Although being surrounded by 50 (I counted them) kangaroos was a little off putting.
Took a lollipop (for energy) and left a blowfly from my zoo (plastic of course).

After going for a few caches on peaks it was refreshing to hunt a cache that didn't involve a hill. Took a frog left a dino.
Just ducked over on this sunny arvo. It's quite close to where we're house minding at the moment.
Took the microcomputer chip. Left a crayon and a party popper.
Thanks Panic!

[^]Luckily, we found some free time on our holiday down from Sydney to do some treasure hunting. The kids were hoping to see some kangaroos, but the closest we came was Kangaroo Poo! Thanks for the quick cache. Swapped a frog and North American Bird Wallet for a car and bottle of bubbles.
A second easy and quick cache find on a pleasant Canberra winter's afternoon. I was a bit cautious about lingering in the area for too long on a weekday...the denizens of Fort Knox have an admirable overlooking view and it's sure damn hard to see if there just happens to be any suspicious eyes peering out from anywhere in the brickwork. I kept my back to them while going through the cache finding formalities. With a backpack, a map, a compass and a bottle of water I was all geared to convince anyone that I was a bushwalker stopping for a break!
Took the gift wrapping tape and replaced it with a microcomputer processor unit.

Huzzah my 30th find....Quite easy...well BundyB and I looked at the thorny area first ....just cause that's were caches should be...
But an easy find.....
Left a pen because the pencil was broken

Bullseye!... Found it with TraineeDiplomat (like he just said). I seem to have an unholy attraction to thorns when it comes to geocaching because I went straight to the thickets of such to start looking.

Cool my first find in a month or so. Nice easy find to, but I was a little concerned that the people in Fort Knox would be wondering what I was up to.
Interestingly enough I have been into that building once. At the time it was a telephone exchange. It also contained the Sound operations centre (SOC) for Canberra which was the place I visited. The SOC is used by the local radio stations for outside broadcasts when they need a broadcast quality non switched telephone line.
I took a couple of the little plastic sea creatures and left a couple of plastic bugs. Including a big green fly.
Thanks for the fun Panic!

I always wanted to know what that building was… It was a rainy morning, and doing the shopping didn’t excite me, so I was most excited to see a couple of new caches in the ACT. However, the geokids decided not to come, as they said it was too cold and wet outside. Found this one nice and easily during a break in the weather. I’m wondering if there is another cache about to be planted by Panic!, as this one’s log book had a different name to the cache! Left a glasses repair kit, and took a pack of beads.
Thanks Panic!
